Learning an instrument is a Music Must that has been ignored. And this is very essential for our growth as Musicians. Getting Familiar with notes, and the theory behind them can take your music career to the next level, this is greatly essential for vocalist.
Even though you aren't learning the instrument for Professional sake, make sure you get familiar with;
• Scales [major & minor]
• Chords [ major & minor]
• Ear Training [ Intervals, Scaler/Chromatic solfege]
• Understanding Chord progressions
• Chords/Notes and their relationship to human voice parts.[Harmony]
• Timing.
