The Anointing of the Holy Spirit

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:18-19 KJV

It is impossible to say that a Spirit-filled Christian will choose to keep his or her relationship with God private and not get involved in Kingdom works. Not even our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in a persecuted country will simply do nothing about their faith in Christ Jesus. After all, when the Holy Spirit comes, He anoints us to preach the Good News, to heal the sick and brokenhearted, to set free those who are captives by the enemy, etc. In our own little ways, we are burning with passion to let Jesus shine and make Himself known!

Beloved, you are God's anointed one through Christ Jesus! Don't let anyone discourage you or put a stop to your calling because they don't understand your divine relationship with God. Continue to do what the Holy Spirit is leading you to do, and read the Word of God always so that your ways and thoughts are always aligned according to His will! You are not alone, for the Holy Spirit is always with you! Amen!

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, thank You, for You have anointed me to do Kingdom works and bring glory to God as I have laid down my life for Christ. Apart from Him, my life is meaningless, and all other things hold no significance. Therefore, I fully give my life to the works of the Lord, and I rely on Your strength and anointing in my life so that I may be effective and a blessing to others in Jesus’ name! Amen.

The Fruit of Faithfulness

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matthew 25:21 KJV

The Holy Spirit produces the fruit of faithfulness in our lives in a supernatural way. It is more than bearing and enduring hardships, trials, and pain. Faithfulness takes place when no one else sees what we are doing; it is being faithful in the little things God has entrusted to us (Luke 16:10). Faithfulness is staying consistent in our divine assignments and passionately burning for Christ even when there are many unanswered prayers.

Beloved, only the Holy Spirit can empower us to be faithful and remain faithful in times when the road of faith gets difficult. It is through the Holy Spirit that we keep our integrity before the Lord and continue to do our assigned earthly missions, especially when no one is watching and when there is no appreciation received. Just as God remains faithful even when we are not faithful (2 Timothy 2:13), we remain in Him and continue to believe in His Word even when we don’t understand certain life situations.

Beloved, at the end of the race, it is worth it to hear the Lord say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). Thank You, Holy Spirit!

Prayer point: Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me the Holy Spirit to help me in the journey, making sure I remain steadfast in Your Word and Your presence. Even when things are unbearable in the race of faith, Your Spirit gives me strength and reminds me of Your promises so I may remain faithful to You and this calling in You. Thank You, for I will hear You say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant” at the end of the race of faith here on earth in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Fruit of Kindness

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Colossians 3:12-13 KJV

Kindness is more than being generous to the needy or helping others so that one can feel good about themselves. Kindness in its truest form is showing compassion to your neighbor during inconvenient times. It is showing mercy to those who have wronged you. It is also being humble and teachable in times when you already know what the person is talking about. Kindness is like the Father Almighty being patient with us so that we may come into repentance (Romans 2:4).

Beloved, the Holy Spirit dwells in you and gives you the capacity to be kind when dealing with unlikely places, people, and situations. The God of love resides in you, and when you show kindness and compassion even when you don’t feel like it or it's inconvenient for you, you allow the Holy Spirit to move at that moment freely. Choosing to be kind in difficult situations releases God's power and anointing, which can bring healing, restoration, and peace to those you encounter. Continue to be kind-hearted in Christ Jesus! That’s who you are!

Prayer point: Almighty Father, thank You for Your kindness, which leads many to repentance. You show me Your ways so that I can follow, and Your Holy Spirit is always here to guide me in the race of faith. Thank You, for I can be kind in challenging situations because I have Your Spirit dwelling inside me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Gift of Faith

To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 1 Corinthians 12:9 KJV

All of God’s children have faith in salvation through Christ Jesus, but this is not the spiritual gift of faith. As the scripture says, the spiritual gifts’ purpose is for the common good of all for building up and exhortation (1 Corinthians 12:7). Thus, the gift of faith is the ability to impart and empower the faith of others! The men and women of faith in the Bible had this spiritual gift through their strong confidence in God so that when we read about their lives and the things God has done, our faith is empowered!

Beloved, the person who has a gift of faith has an extraordinary confidence in God’s Word, His promises, and His manifest presence. So, when they speak their faith, and God moves, chains of unbelief and doubt are broken, and people's faith in God is empowered. Beloved, you have an extraordinary faith in God! Keep sharing the wonderful and mighty things He has done in your life, and impart this faith to others! Hallelujah!

Prayer point: Abba Father, thank You for blessing me with the gift of faith. I have extraordinary confidence in Your Word and presence, for I have seen Your faithfulness and goodness in all things! I thank You that my faith in You empowers others in their faith and relationship with You as well, in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Gift of Speaking in and Interpreting Tongues

To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 1 Corinthians 12:10 KJV

Speaking in diverse tongues is about allowing the Holy Spirit to speak a language through you. Whether it is of a different language or an unknown language, the best way to effectively move in this gift is by simply letting the Holy Spirit flow through you—just as, in the Book of Acts during Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came like tongues of fire and rested upon the disciples of Christ, who were then able to speak in different languages. The people who heard and understood them were amazed (Acts 2:1-12). As for the gift of interpretation of tongues, as the Apostle Paul instructs, if one ministers in tongues in the congregation, let the one who has the gift of interpretation of tongues interpret it so the message or prayer may edify the Church (1 Corinthians 14:13).

Beloved, anything that the Holy Spirit does is powerful and for our own good! If He leads you to pray in tongues, do so; if it is to speak in tongues, do so! If He gives you the ability to interpret the tongue-speaker, don’t hesitate to share what it means so that everyone is empowered in the name of Jesus!

Prayer point: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us the gift of tongues and its interpretation. I pray for more understanding to come upon Your people concerning this gift and for us to realize how powerful and useful this is since it comes from Your Spirit. Thank You, for we can move hearts through diverse languages and unknown languages through the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name! Amen.

The Dwelling Place of the Holy Spirit

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV

It’s such a privilege and a marvelous reality that by faith in Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit chose to live inside us! Not everyone has the Holy Spirit in them. Those who reject Christ and the knowledge of God and His Word are missing their true purpose and the true value of life! And it is a tragedy that thousands of souls in the graveyard die not ever having known the beauty of having a relationship with God on this earth or accomplished their divine destiny and purposes in Christ Jesus!

Beloved, the Holy Spirit dwells in you that you may be established in Christ Jesus and fulfill your purpose and mission here on earth! May you have the compassion to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, the love of the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit with whomever God leads you to! Life is so missed by those who do not know the Holy Spirit! But you do, and Christ in you is the hope of glory! Amen!

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, thank You for dwelling in me. Thank You for leading my soul to the right path and saving me from harm in many ways whenever I try to walk according to my own understanding. I surrender my life for the purpose and glory of God and His kingdom advancement in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Holy Spirit’s Mind

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13 KJV

A united family has one goal and aim in mind, but its members have different roles accordingly in order to accomplish their purpose. For instance, a family may strive to increase their business income, so the father works overtime, the mother helps the father as well as takes care of the nourishment of her family, while their young children study well in order to become successful and help with the business someday. The same is the case with the Triune God, Who works in perfect unity. What One speaks, all will speak; what One does, all will do! They are One—one mind and one heart!

Beloved, everything that the Holy Spirit does and instructs in our lives comes from Heavenly Father and Christ Jesus! As Jesus said in the opening scripture, the Holy Spirit will not speak on His own initiative but according to what He hears! The Triune God is in perfect unity; each Other’s thoughts, ideas, and emotions do not clash. They are One! And the Holy Spirit is given to guide you into all truths that the Father and Son speak and reveal! Glory be to our awesome God!

Prayer point: My awesome God, thank You for Who You are! I am but a soul; You are so mindful of that, You care to guide me in my walk here on earth. I magnify and glorify You above all else in my life in Jesus’ name! Amen.

The Father’s Precious Gift

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? Luke 11:13 KJV

The Holy Spirit is a gift! Such a marvelous truth it is that when we ask for the Holy Spirit, the Father willingly gives Him to us! If wicked men know how to be generous to their children, how much more will our good Heavenly Father give?

Beloved, you have been given the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ Jesus (Mark 1:8)! He is the most precious Gift God has given, and He is here with you today! You have the Biggest Cheerleader, Advocate, and Comforter. And you have the most reliable, the truest, and the only faithful Friend you’ll ever have! He is always there to help you in the journey of faith, and though some days are tough, your help is the Spirit whispering from within, “You can do it! Don’t give up!” Hallelujah for the sweet Spirit of God in your life!

Prayer point: Abba Father, thank You for being so generous that You have given me the Holy Spirit! I thank You, for I am not alone in the journey of faith. I have the Comforter and a Great Helper, not just in times of need but at all times. May I come to know Your Spirit more deeply so that I may have a deeper relationship with You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Believer’s Great Helper

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. John 14:26 KJV

Isn’t it a great relief to have a reliable spouse, friend, co-worker, or family member who reminds you of important things you have forgotten about? God knows that our limited brain capacity may cause us to forget some of the things He has written in the Scriptures. Sometimes, He even instructs us in a still voice, and later on, we forget about it!

Beloved, praise be to God, for the Holy Spirit is always there persistently, consistently, and passionately reminding us of the Word of God! When you are experiencing troubles and sorrows, He causes you to remember the promises of the Father and empowers your inner man. Whenever you are tempted, He reminds you of what Jesus Christ said. So, do not delay to obey whenever you hear His voice and promptings! Hallelujah!

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, thank You for being my reliable and most trustworthy One. You remind me of the Word of God and His promises, especially in times of trouble and need. Thank You for always encouraging and empowering me to walk according to my identity and authority in Christ in Jesus’ name! Amen.

The Spirit of Truth

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:17 KJV

Sometimes, our fear of being deceived is greater than our faith that God is powerful enough to deliver us from deception. Fear blocks many things God wants to pour into our lives, including new wine from above! Jesus told us that new wine cannot be poured into an old wineskin (Mark 2:22). We cannot receive the new things God is doing when we won’t let go of what we’ve gotten used to!

Beloved, we thank the Holy Spirit, Who guides us in all truths! The Spirit of Truth dwells in us, and though the world cannot receive Him, we know Him, and He guides us along our journey of faith! May you always believe in the power of the Spirit of Truth dwelling in you rather than in the enemy’s capacity to lie and deceive! God bless you with new wine this season! Hallelujah!

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, thank You for always guiding me into all truths. I don’t have to fear the works of the enemy, for greater are Your works and Your mighty power in my life! Treasures of the Heart

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. Matthew 12:35 KJV

Our hearts are like treasure boxes. What we put and keep inside will eventually come out and shine! Jesus said that all hidden things will be revealed (Luke 8:17)! What’s in our hearts will eventually come out of our mouths.

Beloved, make sure that you are not keeping bitterness, hidden hatred, and unforgiveness in your heart. Life can indeed be difficult, but your heart doesn’t deserve such garbage. If there is any, let the Lord come and take away all those burdens, and out of your heart let the river of Christ flow! You are meant to bring forth good things! Hallelujah!

Prayer point: My God and Savior, thank You, for I am called to bring forth good things! My heart is cleansed and made whole because of Christ Jesus. I surrender my heart and mind unto You as I choose to fill it with Your words in Jesus’ name! Amen.

Words That Wound Hearts

The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. Proverbs 26:22 KJV

Words that are released carry a spirit—either the Spirit of God, the spirit of man, the spirit of this world, or an evil spirit. That is why Proverbs 18:21 says that the tongue can bring life or death to a situation, a dream, a mental or emotional state, etc. And words such as gossip and slander come from the demonic realm, which wounds the soul and opens the door to the works of evil. Besides destroying other people’s image, gossip can also close doors on the innocent and cause injustices and bitterness to the soul.

Beloved, when a talebearer comes to destroy someone’s image before you, you have the authority to stop it, interrupt it, or have nothing to do with it. Don’t let your soul receive poisonous words that bring death; rather, be a light that exposes darkness, allowing the Holy Spirit to bring conviction by your action. It’s better to walk alone than to walk in the company of gossipers! Be wise!

Prayer point: Abba Father, thank You for protecting me and my family against the gossipers and slanderers. You give us discernment and wisdom on how to deal with people when such a situation arises. We keep the doors of our homes and our hearts closed against the demonic realm when we say “no” to poisonous words. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Allow the Lord to Examine Your Motives.

All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits. Proverbs 16:2 KJV

Have you ever said or done something you knew was right, but later on, during your nighttime prayer, God would speak to you about it, and you realized you were wrong? When God comes to correct us, it shows we are going in the right direction in our relationship with Him. Many Christians think that when God disciplines or corrects their character, something is wrong with them. The truth is that this shows that God is alive in our lives and that our relationship with Him is growing, which is a blessed thing (Hebrews 12:6)!

Beloved, don’t be afraid to have your heart examined by the Lord. Whenever you find yourself to be wrong or you have a mindset that needs correction, take this as an opportunity for growth and for rejoicing that the Father loves you enough to be disciplined by Him. After all, we may think our ways are right, as the opening scripture says, but it is the Lord Who sees our motives! And it is best to always be open to examination by the Lord. He loves you, beloved child of God!

Prayer point: My dear Heavenly Father, You love me and discipline me whenever I am wrong. Thank You for looking into the contents of my heart; for weighing my spirit so that I may grow more and more into Christlikeness. I am always willing to be corrected by You, and my heart is always open for You to examine in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Walk with the Wise and Christlike!

He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief. Proverbs 17:20 KJV

It’s dangerous to be in the company of someone who has a crooked heart and a lying tongue because, as the opening scripture says, they find no good thing in life, and they fall into all kinds of trouble. As Christians, we must be wise in choosing our company every day. After all, we become who we walk with on a daily basis (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Beloved, you become powerful when you say “no” to bad company and corrupt people, even if they may be close to your heart. Distancing yourself does not mean hating these people, but boundaries give you space to create a healthy soul in Christ Jesus! While we cannot control people’s hearts and the way everyone thinks and acts at all times, you have the right to choose with whom you want to spend your time on a daily basis. Beloved, you will never go wrong by choosing to walk with the wise and the Christlike!

Prayer point: Lord Jesus, thank You for giving me the courage to walk away from the crooked and perverse! I desire to grow in my relationship with You and be a better person who impacts my home and community. Thank You for bringing in people who will help me fulfill my calling and for blessing me with godly friends I can share this faith walk with, in Jesus’ name! Amen.

You Don’t Need to Speak at All Times!

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. Proverbs 17:28 KJV

Many people think that the more talkative and opinionated you are, the more intelligent and wise you appear. Expressive people always have made such an impression, but wisdom is actually found when you stay silent and keep your mouth shut. Even a silly person, when he learns to be silent and control his tongue, is deemed wise, as the opening scripture says!

Beloved, may you always have wisdom concerning when to speak and when to hold your peace. Not all things are worth your energy and time, including arguing and debating with people whose views and opinions are unrepented and unbiblical. May you always guard your heart and mind as you yield to Christ and His Word. You are victorious in Christ! Hallelujah!

Prayer point: Abba Father, thank You, for my confidence is found in Your presence and wisdom alone. I don’t need to speak at all times or waste my voice and energy on all things, for not all things are worth fighting for. I would rather hold my peace and be serene with You than be entangled in senseless conversations and relationships that don’t glorify You in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*Prioritize Your Private Devotions to God.*

*This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Matthew 15:8 KJV*

Outward appearances do not hold any meaning or significance in the Kingdom of God because the Father always looks from within and for the things unseen. People may look outwardly, but God always looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). And in the struggle to keep an image to be loved, approved, and accepted by others, most people, including unhealed Christians, live in pretension and outwardly portray perfection, although they are inwardly broken or corrupted by the world’s system.

Beloved, Jesus Christ knew that some people honor Him with their lips while their hearts are far from Him. People can pretend to be actively involved in ministries or outwardly express a form of holiness, but their relationship with God is crumbling. Beloved, it is best to prioritize your private devotions to God even when no one sees you! After all, He Who sees what you do in secret will reward you openly (Matthew 6:6)!

Prayer point: Abba Father, Your attention and affection toward me matter more than anyone else’s approval and attention! I prioritize my prayer life and relationship with You more than anything else! It doesn’t matter whether people see me or not and misunderstand me or not, for I am satisfied in the truth that You see my heart and all the things that I do in secret in Jesus’ name! Amen.

*Judging Others*

*Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Matthew 7:1-3 KJV*

The words of Jesus about judging others have been controversial in Christian circles for a long time. Some people use the scripture above to excuse themselves and continue in their sins; others interpret the scripture in the extreme way of not judging in the sense of tolerating and even celebrating the sins of others. But what does Jesus really mean by saying that we should not judge others?

Beloved, the words of Christ are but a reminder for us not to be quick to point fingers and fall into the trap of falsely accusing others without thinking deeply and praying about it! For instance, you might quickly judge that a person has an issue with you because he or she ignored you when you waved at them in church or at work, only to find later on that this person has an eyesight problem! Sometimes, we are also quick to judge someone’s weakness, only to find ourselves later on in the same situation!

Beloved, not judging others doesn’t remove your authority to discern and judge between good and evil! But we are to be wise and careful in judging others rashly or with a wrong motive. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Remember, when you point a finger at someone, three fingers are pointing back at you.

Prayer point: Lord Jesus, thank You for Your guiding words. You bless me with wisdom and discernment so I may judge rightly and not quickly. Convict me through the Holy Spirit whenever I am tempted to judge others quickly in Jesus’ name. Amen.

*Don’t Fall into Manipulation!*

*And she said unto him, How canst thou say, I love thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked me these three times, and hast not told me wherein thy great strength lieth. And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; Judges 16:15-16 KJV*

Samson was God’s anointed man on the condition that his hair must not be cut (Judges 13:5). However, he had a weakness for women, and he met Delilah, whose intentions of love were impure! Because Samson loved her, he was blinded and unable to discern the works of the enemy through this woman, who kept pressing him daily to tell her the secret of his strength. In the end, he told her, and this cost him his life!

Beloved, may the Holy Spirit always give you strong discernment and protection against the traps of the enemies! When someone comes to manipulate you, you will sense it, have no peace with it, and obey the prompting of the Spirit! If you want to hear God’s voice strongly and detect the kinds of people that the enemy uses to sabotage you, your family, calling, career, and destiny, choose to spend more time with God, listen to preachings, and study the Word! The more you listen to God’s words and revelations, the stronger your inner man will be!

Prayer point: Heavenly Father, thank You for protecting me and my family from the plans of the enemy. Thank You for the Holy Spirit, Who gives me wisdom, discernment, and authority against manipulators and wicked schemes of the devil! I bind and destroy any lies and manipulations in my life and my family’s, in Jesus’ name! Amen.

*May You Feed Many with Your Lips!*

Every day, you are faced with choices to make. You can choose to speak of temporal things that are fleeting or heavenly things that are eternal; that advance the Kingdom of God and empower people according to who they are in Christ. As a Christian, you are expected to bring the Gospel wherever you go. Whether you are a house parent, a worker in the church, or a professional in a secular job, when you share spiritual things and the truths of God with those whom God divinely places in your life, you are feeding their spirit with spiritual food!

Beloved, may you feed many with your lips as you share the Good News of Christ Jesus! Make this a goal—that whenever God sends you divine connections, you glorify Him by feeding people with spiritual things and revelations! Share with them our loving Father, a wonderful Savior, and the Word of God that brings life and encouragement! Your lips are anointed and powerful!

Prayer point: Wonderful God and Father, thank You for Your Word, which feeds my soul. As I meditate on it day and night, may I overflow with Your life-giving words and share its wisdom, revelation, and principles with others. May my lips feed many with the spiritual food that will bring advancement to Your Kingdom and glorify Your name in Christ Jesus! Amen.

Nothing is more assuring and comforting than knowing that God is always for those who are walking justly and rightly in Christ Jesus, no matter how others may judge and misunderstand. If God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31)? We don’t need to desire the company of powerful yet evil people or use our lips for deceit to gain advantages because, as the opening scripture says, God will bless and favor His children!

Beloved, such truth is empowering us to walk without the need to compromise who we are in Christ Jesus! Our security comes from the Father alone, and we don’t have to walk according to the ways of the world to be successful or receive favor and opportunities. May God bless and favor you and your family as you walk in His truth, Child of God! You are an overcomer!

Prayer point: Heavenly Father, thank You, for I can preserve my lips for righteousness and my heart and mind without compromise just to gain favor or be successful here on earth. I have You, and Your hand of blessing and favor is upon Your children. I depend on You alone for all things in my life in Jesus’ name! Amen.

What a marvelous truth that each day is a God-given chance to start anew! The Lord’s mercies are new every morning! What happened yesterday and the days before are forgotten by Him Who gives us new hope and chances to live according to His will!

Beloved, as you begin the month today, make the most out of it to put your best foot forward and forget about the past! The Apostle Paul says that in order to attain our goals for the future, we must learn to let go of the past and continue to move forward, full of hope in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14)! You are an overcomer! Hallelujah!

Prayer point: Abba Father, thank You for Your new mercies every morning! I can begin the month with a fresh start; with another chance to be better and keep moving forward in Christ. You are making way for the new things, and I am letting go of the past to receive all Your plans with joy in Jesus' name! Amen.
