Today's lesson is a common makeup concern for most women.

Hey, how is your day going?

Throwing back to this dewy brown skin work I created on my gorgeous baby doll after several trials behind the scenes to find the right technique and system to achieve a dewy skin that won’t crease into fines lines or melt in our humid Nigerian climate conditions.

And see how the amazing Peter Usman ( ) photographed and kept the look as real as it can be, no body did it like we did back then! 🙌🏽 it was an area untapped and we plunged into it. I am proud to say we showed the way to this possibility. I learned on this journey that Makeup for photography isn’t exactly what I was taught to believe it should be… story is for another day!

I remember trying and failing, trying again and failing and constantly reading / hearing people say you can’t achieve this kind of look in Nigeria it won’t stay on. I was determined to make it work here!

Alas! On this day in August (I think) 2019, I created this look tapping into my inner creative child using products I already had in my kit, such as L.A. Colors cheeks and lips balm and Blot Cosmetics Sublime foundation (don’t sleep on this foundation guys, don’t play!). No creasing or melting, and I only used a little RCMA setting powder under the eyes to achieve this result right.

I kept getting better at it and developed a system that wouldn’t break down so that clients too could rock dewy looks to events. Now, we have seen that we can rock dewy skin looks in Nigeria and it’s not melting or creasing.

Listen, whatever you believe is possible, is possible, you just have to focus and find the secret to make that thing work! Don’t listen to those who say it can never work.

My Woman Crush this week is our gorgeous Oyinkansola.

She's an effortless woman who exudes beauty with ease. Her identity is important to her, and she needs no transformation to showcase her natural beauty. Just a touch of accentuation is all she desires.

Making you feel effortlessly beautiful —

So, EmanuelIa sat in my chair, again, and she showed me how she likes her makeup and I loved every bit of it.

- The skin/face 👉🏽 softly accentuated

- The brows 👉🏽 Thin and softly defined

- The eyes (my favorite part)👉🏽 soft white shadow and feline grayish liner at the top eyeliner (goal is not too black) and soft white liner halfway through the lower waterline (and I decided to flip it out and she loved it). Added my favorite touch of warm brown shade underneath (this always adds some sort of sexiness to any look!)

- Lips 👉🏽 That's where all the fire comes together!

- Lashes were already done and I could tell her style from just how wispy and natural they looked.

She's a star!

I always listen to my clients and strive to bring their desires to life. As an expert artist, I believe that you are also an essential part of the creation process because it's all about you before my skills come into play.
