On April 22, 2024, our team participated in a thought-provoking focus group discussion organized by Making Cents International, in collaboration with USAID/Nigeria.

The discussion held at Disability Not A Barrier Initiative (DINABI) Office (thank you so much for the warm reception and all you do in advocating disabilities right).

Our Executive Director, Odunayo Tobiloba Sonde, represented our organization at this insightful event aimed at analyzing Youth Inclusion.

During the discussion, Odunayo engaged with fellow focus group members to delve into the challenges faced by youths in achieving inclusion.

Drawing from her expertise and experience, she highlighted various factors contributing to youth marginalization in our community.

Her insights and observations shed light on crucial areas where interventions are needed to ensure the inclusion and empowerment of all youth, regardless of background or circumstance.

One of the key takeaways from the discussion was the recognition of progress made in addressing youth marginalization over the years.

Despite persistent challenges, there are notable improvements, thanks to the collective efforts of organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders.

We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such an important dialogue and remain committed to advocating for youth inclusion and empowerment in our community and beyond.

11 people have shown interest to volunteer for The Live Right Campagin.

We need 35 volunters in all the states to form a team of 5 in each state.

By the end of March, we will be reviewing the applications so that we can pick the most eligible volunteers.

So, if you are willing to help more teenagers make healthy s*xual decisions in any of these states stated on the flyer, join the Live Right Campaign Volunteer team.

We are looking for:

All you will be doing is to represent The Transforming Noya Foundation (Live Right Campaign Host) in school outreaches, speaking, training and counselling students.

We will provide you with training materials (2 age-appropriate books written by me and 8 other people) and train you for the campaign.

Are you ready to be a part of this? Use the Link in comment section.

On Saturday, I led my children at the orphanage to confess that they will make God proud.

I'm standing here and saying it again: We will make God proud.

Everything I am will be to raise men unto God as He has supplied the grace.

In a world where education is considered a fundamental right, it is crucial to shine a light on the incredible journey of orphans pursuing their education in secondary school.

Some of these children have no idea that they can dream or hope for a better future.

Secondary school is an important phase in the lives of these orphans, as this is the phase they get serious with their education, where they start dreaming, thinking properly and hoping for a better future.

This is a phase where these teenagers need guidance, and directions on how to go about life, how to live purposefully and believe they can be whom they set their minds to be.

It's a phase where they get to know about their s*xuality and live s*xually pure lives.

It's a phase where their education should be taken seriously.

Helping these teenagers in this phase of their lives

Providing wholesome formal education these children through home tutoring is what we do at The Transforming Noya Foundation .

We aim to help these students live better lives.

Orphaned teenagers possess untapped leadership potential. By fostering their skill development and self-belief, we can empower them to lead by example, creating positive change in their lives and communities.

Yesterday, we sent out over 500 copies of Living Unchained and Growing and Knowing to be distributed to students in secondary schools.

Our desire is to see a wholesome society built especially in the area of s*x and s*xuality.

We aim to see more teenagers making informed s*xual decisions. Hence, reducing s*xual abuse, unwanted teenage pregnancy and s*xual perversions.

A healthy child is the key to building a healthy society.

TUTOR AN ORPHAN IN SECONDARY SCHOOL PROJECT.

One of the core projects we handle at The Transforming Noya Foundation is the tutor an orphan in secondary school project.

One major problem orphans face when brought into orphanage homes is the lack of access to quality education.

Some of them go to schools (either schools owned by the orphanages or outside) but they aren’t adequately taught because of lack of adequate resources, especially teachers and study materials.

Tutor an orphan in Secondary School aims to fill this gap and provide these children with what they lack by teaching them in their weak areas and assigning them teachers that can train them in these areas while providing them with study materials.

You can volunteer to be a part of the teachers or mentor.

These children need you.

Our current PPA is the Delightsome Oak Orphanage, Adebayo-Iworoko road, Ado-Ekiti.

Esther had always been the quiet girl in class.

When others were playing around and talking about how the previous day went for them, she would quietly sit down and not want to talk to anyone.

It didn't sit well with me that a child her age just wasn't interested in relating with children her age. I mean, she was just 13.

I didn't think there was any need to have a personal relationship with the students since I was leaving in about six months anyway.

But I had to walk up to her one day and tried to relate with her.

Initially, she didn't want to talk to me; she just kept withdrawing.

But the more she tried to withdraw, the more I wanted to know her.

After a while, she opened up to me.

Then I realised that despite being a child, she had been through a lot.

She was an orphan living in an orphanage home. She had lost both her parents when she was 8.

Many of her classmates talked about how their parents bought them things and said things about their families.

But it was different for her. She barely had anything to say to them about her family and this reduced everything about her self-esteem.

She mentioned also that she stayed with her uncle who molested her until she was 10, and his wife eventually threw her out because she didn't seem to want her around.
Someone had to resort to taking her to the orphanage home since nobody was ready to accept her.

Esther had also recently just started seeing her period and even though she had seen older ladies go through the process, she had no prior education about what menstruation was all about.

Also, because of her challenges, she wasn't good academically, and unlike other students whose parents were able to afford extra lessons, she couldn't because of where she was.

There are many orphaned children and teenagers out there that are in similar situations to Esther's, or even worse.

Some never even got to meet their parents.

These people need help.

They need people to talk to, to make them feel loved, wanted, and appreciated.

They need hope and a future to look up to.

This is why we, at The Transforming Noya Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, have come together to help orphaned teenagers.

Our vision is to build a society of young minds that are whole academically, psychologically and spiritually with a healthy view of life.

Many teenagers are not well equipped for life and being an orphan can be an added disadvantage, and this is what we are working hard to eradicate.

The foundation provides access to quality education, both formal and informal, to teenagers and orphaned teenagers with a focus on academics, s*xual and s*xuality education, skill empowerment, leadership, and self-development.

We call on you to cater for an orphan today.

Give them a room to thrive.

There's an Esther close to you.
