All the frenetic efforts to revive him failed, as he was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While the whole country was rejoicing yesterday, the people of the Amanuike community in Anambra State, where he came from, were mourning.

They just lost an illustrious person, the richest man in the community, who was an iroko who provided shelter, shade, and succour to many in that community.

His immediate family is in mourning too.

They just lost a friend, a father, and a benefactor.

A reminder to the rest of us suffering from underlying illnesses like high blood pressure. to stay away from watching tension-soaked Super Eagles matches.

At the end of the day, it is not worth it.

Because the late Chief was not an outlier, many people slumped to death watching the match yesterday, and this includes a serving youth corper serving in Adamawa and former aide of Jonathan Goodluck slumped to death same yesterday.

Solid Star Was Ready To Sacrifice Everything For My Success - Tonto Dikeh

Nigerian actress, Tonto Dikeh, has asked for help in reaching troubled Nigerian singer, Joshua Iniyezo popularly known as Solid Star.

News surfaced on Monday that the 'Omotena' crooner was in need of help with some mental health issues he was dealing with.

The singer's brother, Sunday, took to social media to inform the singer's fans of his brother's condition.

Also, a video surfaced on Instagram on Monday, where the singer was seen roaming the streets barefooted.

This has since sparked reactions from netizens, decrying the singer's sorry state.

Reacting to the sad news, Dikeh took to Instagram Thursday to ask for help in reaching any member of the singer's family.

Dikeh also revealed that Iniyezo was ready to sacrifice everything for her to succeed in the music business.

She wrote, "How can I get through to Solidstar's family or management? That's my street blood mehn, dude was ready to sacrifice it all for me to do well musically, na me no just hear word.

"Never charged a penny, never agreed to a gift, not even a hug, such a selfless human, I'm hurting that he has strong men and he is still outside.

"Please team, point me in the right direction."

BREAKING: Ekweremadu’s daughter breaks silence after parent’s sentencing

Sonia , daughter of embattled Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has broken silence on the sentencing of her father, and mother, Beatrice.
The Nation reports a court in the United Kingdom sentenced Ekweremadu, to nine years and eight months in prison for an organ trafficking plot.

The court also sentenced his wife, Beatrice, to four years six months while the medical doctor who acted as a ‘middleman’ in the plot, Dr Obinna Obeta, was sentenced to 10 years and his medical license was also suspended.

Reacting, Sonia said she feels guilty about the conviction of her parents on conspiracy to harvest a human organ.

In an interview with BBC on Friday, monitored by The Nation, she, however, disagreed with the conviction of her parents.

She said: “I understand the conviction, however, I personally disagree with it. That is from a very biased perspective as their daughter, I will obviously always back my parents.

“However, the law has taken its course, we just need to move on as one family,” she said.

The 25-year-old daughter of the embattled Senator, said she is undergoing dialysis.

She further explained that she has two options “which is go stay on dialysis for the rest of her life or undergo a kidney transplant.”

A 36-year-old woman, Stella Gilbert, has been sentenced to death by Ikeja high court on Tuesday, for stabbing her neighbour to death, Mrs Stella Godwin, during a fight at their residence in Ajegunle, Lagos.
She collapsed on hearing the judge read her sentence, amidst tears from her friends, siblings and well-wishers... the law enforcement agents took her, infact, they carried her as she collapsed in the Court room back to the prison waiting for her ex*****on time.
I am very sure, this woman acted on anger, she is terribly regretting her actions by now... but, who will give her a second chance to live? All dreams, vision and aspirations shattered just because of anger that could have been controlled... Just imagine her end on earth!! Those of you that have this mindset of lifting weapons for any small misunderstanding, you are just playing with your life...
Avoid anger, hot temper, run away from it or else it will destroy you. No decision taken in anger that will not be regretted.

Igbo woman gives birth to quintuplets at Life Hospital, Awka, the capital of Anambra State.

Pictured below is Chidimma Nwannibe, a native of Akamili Umudim in Nnewi whose husband was given as simply Amaechi from Oraifite in the same Anambra state by our sources. The couple have just welcomed five babies in one go (quintuplet) after nine years of trying.

Just In: Actor Yul Edochie reportedly loses his first son

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has lost his first son, Kambilichukwu Edochie.

It was gathered that Yul’s first son was rushed to the hospital after allegedly falling unconscious while playing football

A source who spoke to Vanguard News on condition of anonymity revealed that Yul has confirmed Kambilichukwu’s d£ath as the time this report was filed.

May’s sister who was at the scene said the boy read throughout the night preparing for his exam today. After his exam in school, he joined his mates to play football and that’s when he developed a seizure and was rushed to Mother and Child Hospital. All efforts by the doctors to resuscitate him proved abortive, the report added.

This is coming two months after Yul Edochie and his first wife May, celebrated their first son and second child as he turned 16; showering encomiums and blessings on him.

Nigerian ‘professor’ sacked by Oxford University

University of Oxford has terminated the Academic Visitor status of a Nigerian author, Onyeka Nwelue.

This follows the misuse of the university logos and premises for commercial purposes by the author.

Nwelue wasn't alone in this. A Nigerian self-acclaimed investigative journalist, David Hundeyin, also had his association with the university terminated.

This much was revealed in an investigation by Cherwell, a weekly student newspaper published entirely by students of Oxford University.

Cherwell, on Thursday March 2, Oxford University has launched an investigation into the misuse of its logos and premises for commercial purposes without permission and allegations of misogyny towards students and the spread of racist, classist, and sexist content online.

“Onyeka Nwelue and David Hundeyin are no longer associated with the University of Cambridge. Their connections were terminated following an investigation into their conduct.” Cambridge reportedly told Cherwell.

The book titled “The Jungle” which was published by UK-based Abibiman Publishing partly owned by Nwelue, was sold at £20, while tickets for the book launch were marketed through the James Currey Society which was also founded by Nwelue and incorporated as a for-profit company in May 2022, under the name of James Currey International, were priced at £20.

The book launch was originally advertised as taking place in the African Studies Centre, but the location was changed at short notice to a room in the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages at Wellington Square.

According to the publication, attendees of the event alleged that misogynistic remarks made by its organisers and other audience members made them feel “incredibly uncomfortable”.

One student reportedly said to Cherwell: “Explicitly sexist comments were made throughout by the speaker and audience which were not challenged and were in fact encouraged.

Some of you feel that the mic is just a tool of amplification, guess what? You are so right!

The microphone amplifies your voices through the speakers. It is to pick both high and low frequencies; therefore it's very productive if you place it close to your mouth, either tilting to your nose or between your nostrils and mouth. Sounds like n,m, and ng are purely nasal and should be captured as you sing. Most times these sounds are lost when the mic is directed solely to your mouth space, thereby making your overall sound too heavy- almost like you are shouting. But once these nasal sounds level up, they balance out the loud, shout-like sound. Note also that the type of microphone in use determines direction and/or placement.

Try it the next time you hold a mic to sing and feed me back on your experience.
