It is clear that these core pillars - from reforming the economy to delivering sustained, inclusive growth, from strengthening national security for peace and prosperity to boosting agriculture to achieve food security. From unlocking energy and natural resources for sustainable development to enhancing infrastructure and transportation as enablers of growth. And from focusing on education, health, and social investment as essential pillars of development to accelerating diversification through industrialization, digitization, and creative industry, manufacturing, and innovative technology. - hold the key to our nation's progress. Our Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology Federal Ministry of Science,Technology and Innovation plays a pivotal role in realizing these goals, and I am deeply committed to ensuring their achievement. Speaking at the just concluded Minister's retreat, I revealed plans in the areas of skill certification to establish training centres across the six geo-political zones. Also, we're working on streamlining the coordination of research activities among institutions such as universities and polytechnics. This is to ensure that these organizations avoid duplicating their research efforts. Collaborative research efforts can lead to remarkable technological advancements. Moreover, we have made progress in the areas of high yield cowpea production within Nigeria rather than depending on the importation of same produce. This same progress was replicated in the area of cow breeding. We've witnessed significant improvements through cross-breeding with a Brazilian strain, the new Nigerian cow varieties now yield an impressive 20 litres of milk daily, a substantial increase from previous levels. To emphasize cost efficiency, I opted to sign for a $20 million solution for satellite site instead of a $400 million one. While both options serve a similar purpose, with the only difference being the number of channels (4 vs. 2). This decision represents a significant cost-saving measure.

At the Minister's retreat panel, I shared thoughts on the numerous avenues we can explore for economic improvement. For instance, we have developed a remarkable fertilizer that has a longevity of five years after a single application. However, one of our main hurdles is insufficient funding for pilot runs. Research programs often halt progress at the prototype stage, as we need further investment to take innovations to the commercialization stage, where substantial profits can be realized. Remarkably, we have more than 5000 of innovations at the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI). National Board For Technology Incubation This isn't unique to NBTI; Other research agencies like @Notap are responsible for patenting these discoveries. There is an abundance of untapped opportunities in these sectors, and it is crucial that we tap into this potential to drive progress and economic growth.
