OPEN LETTER TO FUDMA VICE-CHANCELLOR

Dear Vice-Chancellor,

We are writing to express our concern regarding the enrolment of recruited staff at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, on the IPPIS. Despite completing all necessary documentation processes and waiting for almost three years, there has been significant uncertainty surrounding the actual enrolment of the affected employees.

This issue has caused pain and disappointment among the recruited staff. The delay not only impacts the morale and confidence of the affected employees but also raises questions about the efficiency of FUDMA’s bureaucratic administrative processes. Some have resigned from their previous employment, anticipating working at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma. The anticipation has been prolonged, and the affected workers need to know whether there are still possibilities for them to be captured on the IPPIS or not.

It is essential to acknowledge the efforts invested by the new recruits in completing their documentation promptly. Failing to enrol them in a timely manner not only hinders their ability to contribute effectively to the university but also reflects poorly on the university’s commitment to its employees.

I urge you to address this matter promptly, identify the reasons for the delay, and take necessary actions to expedite the enrolment process for the recruited staff. Open and transparent communication regarding the steps being taken to resolve this issue will help alleviate concerns and maintain FUDMA’s reputation for professionalism and efficiency.

Your immediate intervention in addressing all allegations of employment racketeering is highly appreciated, as it directly impacts the well-being of your tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma and its staff.

Let me dispense with any political correctness and say it loud and clearly that, any attempt to invade Niger Republic by a Nigerian led ECOWAS Army in the guise of “safeguarding democracy”, will be a declaration of war on northern Nigeria and its people because we are the ones that will bear the full brunt of this misguided war. We in the region will not support any act of unprovoked aggression against Niger Republic under any pretense.

We in the north are tired of wars, we have been at war with Boko Haram for 14 years and for 9 years with Bandits and kidnappers. Thousands of our people continue to be killed and kidnapped while millions have been displaced from their ancestral homes, including the 300,000 that have sought refuge as IDPs in Niger Republic. Our economy, education, infrastructure and social fabrique have all been devastated. How can we support any foreign war when our house is on fire?

At a time when Nigeria is facing the worst insecurity of our lifetime with nauseating corruption, bad governance, youth unemployment and drug abuse, discontent of the citizenry, excruciating poverty brought about by chaotic economic policies, a military invasion of Niger Republic will be reckless with grave consequences beyond the subregion.

Instead of starting a new war, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should channel all his energy on finding ways to stop the bloodshed in our land by ending the wars on Boko Haram and Banditry as soon as possible, reconcile warring communities, resettle all IDPs and rebuild our communities and the region’s economy.

Niger Republic is a landlocked country with a total area of 1,267,000 km². Northern Nigeria shares with it a vast 1,100km long border stretching along Nigeria’s entire Northwesterly to the Northeasterly border. The seven northern states of Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, Jiga

REFRESHER: The Priceless Value of Mentorship

A very long time ago, I was born and grew up in Zaria City with little or no remarkable performance at my basic education period i.e. primary and junior secondary school years. Though, I independently read widely books written in English language during my free times. My performance was above average in that subject.

In SS1, I joined science class and wasn’t getting much from my regular classes at school and so decided to intensify personal efforts which pushed me to seek out for assistance out my older colleagues to explain several concepts of especially physics. It was on this personal voyage that I was introduced in 1995 to the Muslim Refresher Course Program (MRCP) (hereinafter referred to as Refresher) by a nephew and a childhood friend, Engr. Idris Nuhu Malami (Major). From then on, a fire had been ignited, a zeal and a passion for science, a force so strong, that nothing could stand in my way. Suffice it to say that I was always top of my class since then.

I found in Refresher, teachers that were exceptional, whose only goal was to impart knowledge to any knowledge-hungry person by all means and at all cost without regards to any material worldly gains. Although Refresher was scheduled from 9 am to 1 pm on weekends only, their teachers were available for us 24/7 to satisfy our thirst for quality knowledge which could not be obtained in most of the then Government-owned secondary schools. For instance, in addition to attending the regular Refresher classes, my friends Dr. Abubakar Hassan (Chairman), Major, Dr. Shu’aibu M. Bala, Bashir Mohammed and I organized another lesson on Biology during weekends from 4 – 6 pm. It was taken by Dr. Lawal Halliru (Dr. Daddy) who taught us Chemistry in Refresher and was a medical student in ABU then. I would also consult Dr. Suleiman Garba in his own room from 2 – 3 pm

8). Ka nisanci gulmar mutane da yiwa mutuncinsu rauni, kar kuma ka furta komai sai alheri
9). Ka nemi sanin duk mutumin da ka haɗu da shi a karon farko ko da shi bai nemi hakan ba, domin tubalin da'awa shine ƙauna da sanin juna,
10). Abubuwan da s**a zama dolenka sunfi lokacinka yawa ka taimaki waninka domin ya amfana da lokacinsa. In kana da wani muhimmin abu ka gaggauda yinsa, "lokacinka tsada gare shi, ka tsare shi ko kuma ya kucce."
Ya Allah Ka bamu ikon yin aiki da waɗannnan wasiyyoyi!!!

It is a well-known fact that every Latin word that starts with ‘Al-’ has an Arabic origin. An example of that would be “ALCOHOL" “ALJEBRA”, "ALKALINE", "AZURITE", "ANNILINE"...etc.
