As a result of the sins which characterized our lives, we were once under the control of Satan. Jesus came to deliver us from the clutches of sin by shedding His blood on the cross, thus giving us salvation which is a free gift from God. It is earned by believing in Jesus Christ and accepting Him as our Lord and Savior. No matter who you are and how bad your past or present may be, you will become a new person (2 Cor. 5:17) in Christ in you only turn over your life to Him. Without doing this, going to Church giving offering for God’s work, doing one thing or the other for God, being a moralist, etc., are all a waste.

QUESTION: Do you have this salvation freely given by Jesus Christ?
PRAYER: Thank You Father for being my Lord and Savior. Please help me to tell others about your power that saves from sin, in Jesus name, Amen.

King Hezekiah went to the Lord to report all the threats of king Sennacherib of Assyria. God, speaking through Prophet Isaiah, told the king not to allow the negative news and threats run him down because He would fight the battle for him. We often disturb ourselves about threats from people or situation around us instead of going to God. As a leader, can others confide in you for prayer? As a member of the church, where do you go for help in the face of troubles and trials? Remember that, as a believe, you are bound to face one challenge or the other in life but your faith in the Lord must remain solid.

On their way to Emmaus, two disciples were discussing and wondering what could have happened to Jesus since His body could not be found in the grave. They couldn’t believe that He was alive. Jesus, who joined them in their discussion, wondered why they found it difficult to believe in spite of all that the prophets had said about Him. He had to take them through the Scriptures to explain all that was written about Him. Today, we still have people in the Church who have been hearing and reading the word but still find it difficult to believe. Are you one of those who still doubt what is written in the Bible?
