It is with profound gratitude in our hearts, that the BOT, the EMC and the Team members of the Africa Vision Tract House Society (AVTHS), in particular, and the Nigeria Christian Graduate Fellowship (NCGF), in general, today, deeply appreciate our God and the Almighty Father, for the successful ex*****on of the Mbano Medical Missions of December 6 – 10, 2023.
We thank our great partners whose sponsorship and prayers, the Mission activities were executed to the Glory of God.
We hold in very high esteem the beautiful, devoted and very smooth partnership of the EL-Aged Care Center GTE, Mbano. Their management and staff were exceptional in the hosting of the Missions.
We truly witnessed the Hand of God, and the love of the brethren and our partners all through the Missions.

ACTIVITIES HIGHLIGHTS
SIGHTS RESTORED
The number of patients who either couldn't see or could only see with one eye whose sights in both eyes were restored have kept increasing as testimonies continue to come through from discharged patients.

Right from the second day of surgeries, when the plaster covering the eyes of the Day one surgery beneficiaries were removed, it has been joy and exhilaration among patients and their relations. God has restored the sight of many blind persons via Mbano Missions.

JOURNEY MERCIES
As of 3 pm on Sunday 10/12/23, ALL our volunteers from across the nation had returned safely to their bases. What a Wonderful God we have!

MBANO MEDICAL MISSIONS Update
DAY ONE - DECEMBER 6, 2023
To the Glory of God, operations at the Mbano Missions kicked off smoothly yesterday. Except for the Surgery department, all other departments of our operations commenced activities smoothly.
Our Eye surgeon and his team left Jos, Plateau State Tuesday morning for Mbano. They had to break the journey at Otukpo Benue State, to pass the night, after being massively delayed by bad roads and ubiquitous security checkpoints on our highways. Unfortunately, still, they could only arrive at Mbano by 5 pm on yesterday evening. Thank God for the journey Mercies.
We were joined Wednesday by eighteen more volunteers from the three geopolitical zones of southern Nigeria in addition to North Central volunteers.
There are five Optometrists in the camp; two Ophthalmologists; Opticians and Ophthalmic nurses. Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory, and General Nursing departments are fully operational. The Ministers and Counsellors worked fully.
184 patients were registered, out of which 60 got reading glasses, more got medications and many have been harvested for surgery. It is noteworthy that a good number of patients exhibited inhibiting fear and apprehension about surgery. Some patients adamantly refused surgical solutions to their sight challenges even with great counseling efforts.
So far, the Good Lord has through our blessed partners provided for these operations.
We still need funds to run our operations to the end. Truly, the exorbitant cost of things has broken our permutations.
By our projections, yesterday evening, Wednesday 06, we need:
• N1.5M for surgery
• N350K for accommodation
• N220K for transportation of staff and stuff back to Lagos
• 60K for the local bus hired
• N200K for more drugs
• N 200K for transport fare to some guest volunteers.
,• N75K for canopies, seats and tables.
Projected need total – N2.605M
This obviously, means we underestimated the inflation in our country.
However, God Is our Confidence. We are praying for all the great men and women and children whom God Has used to kick off this Mission. You shall never lose your great rewards.

A CHRISTMAS GIFT TO THE MBANO PEOPLE AND THEIR NEIGHBOURS.

The MBANO MISSION has kicked off, well before the projected date of December 6-9. As of yesterday, December 1st, well over 40 persons have been registered for differing kinds of ophthalmological surgeries.
Our guest Ophthalmologist is billed to undertake about 100 surgeries. Each surgery is at no cost to the patient but we are paying a Godly 20K/per surgery for the materials.
We are envisaging that more than 120 persons may need surgeries. With only 500K deposited, we need help.
Someone may decide to give 5, 10, 20, etc persons the Christmas gift of repaired or restored sight /surgery.
We have started acquiring drugs. We have paid for 200 reading glasses. Some deposits have been made for accommodation and feeding.
We have outstanding bills projected as follows:
