In an increasingly competitive labor market, retaining talent is more important than ever. When questioned, one of the top reasons given by employees for leaving an organization is a lack of training opportunities.
The cost of hiring new staff is high, and of course it takes time to bring people up to speed. However, despite this too many businesses are not investing enough in training and development for their existing workforce and struggle to retain talent as a result.
With this in mind, can enterprises afford to ignore the need to train to retain?

At elev8, one of our passions is creating life-long learners and helping people gain digital skills that transform their lives. Students who graduated from our recent Microsoft ATO software development program have shared with us their feedback and one particular student gave us shiny eyes🤩.
‘’Thank you so much to Microsoft and elev8. This was by far the most high-value program I have experienced in my journey to becoming a Software Developer. The energy, passion, and experience that both elev8 and my other colleagues brought to the program was really contagious’’
We love uniting people and technology and we are proud we have helped this student on their journey to achieving their career goals.

Microsoft Africa
It was a pleasure hosting the Microsoft Africa Microsoft Team, Wael El Kabbany, Olatomiwa Williams, Salma Kellal, and Ellie Obi at the elev8 office in Lagos. The team also interacted with learners of the ongoing Software Development free Training Program powered by Microsoft Africa. Wael El Kabbany encouraged the program participants and spoke at length about the giant strides Microsoft ATO is making in Africa and future collaborations with elev8.
Aside from coaching students through their curriculum in the elev8/ Microsoft Africa Software development training program, it is vital that they interact with key industry leaders to acquire insight into the next phase of their career. We are thrilled to have Olugbolahan Olusanya the country manager of Tek Experts join us this afternoon to inspire and motivate our program participants.
We are looking forward to an enlightening session.

According to a recent study, Africa will account for a substantial share of the global workforce by 2050 (probably about 50% of global workforce, based on Africa’s demography with median age of 19 years). The main question is how prepared we are and what steps are being put in place to ensure that this workforce contributes adequately to the in-demand skills of the future. A future with driverless cars, drones, cobots and robots, blockchain, mixed realities etc.
Elemi Ani, Global Head of Solution, Design and Digital Transformation at elev8 speaking during his presentation at the recently concluded The CIO Club Africa Summit, emphasized the necessity of improving access to digital skills and knowledge as a fundamental driver to effective participation to the 4th industrial revolution and knowledge economy. He emphasized the significance of strategic learning, strategic collaborations and talent pipelines, and knowledge management as critical components to success.
