"Let's be frank. Do people need a special skill or talent to own a successful money-making YouTube Channel?"

Before I started my YouTube Channel, I used to think that the only people who could own a channel and make money on YouTube were those who had special skills like singing, cracking jokes, acting, playing musical instruments, dancing, oratory (Podcaster), and even doing video editing.

I had wanted to start a YouTube Channel where I sing but can't sing.

I had wanted to start a YouTube Channel where I create illustrational or cartoon videos, but I can't do video editing.

I had wanted to start a podcast on YouTube, but I am not an orator or a good talker.

All of these skills I had known, and due to that, I was almost discouraged.

Fast forward to some years later, I acquired one of those skills (video editing) and can start the YouTube Channel and create Illustrational videos. But, I encountered another challenge, the challenge of "TIME".

I didn't have the time to create videos because I was doing a paid job on the side. I was not consistent, and one major secret about growing a YouTube Channel is consistency.

Then, I was left with only two options;

Resign from my job and focus solely on YouTube: This Idea was not interesting enough because I didn't have any other source of income, and YouTube would not start paying maybe until after six months that I had grown to a certain level.

Outsource it: This idea sounds so perfect since my job was paying me enough to outsource the video creation and YouTube marketing job to another person.

After a lot of back and forth, I had to decide to settle for the second option and budgeted less than $1,800 for six months (that's less than $300 per month) for video creation and marketing. In my mind, if the next six months did not work, I am giving up. Hold and bold, within six months, the YouTube channel grew, and boom, my first-month earnings from YouTube was about $700 and the earnings merging continue to increase and increase and increase till this very day.

Why am I writing this to you? I want you to know that not everyone who is running a successful YouTube Channel is doing it themselves. What most of them have is the boldness and mindset to invest and it paid off for them.

Sales and marketing: The differences

Sales is to follow up on the interested prospects you got through marketing and convert them into buyers.

Example:

Running recurring facebook ads is another example of sales, you are following up on your gained audience in order to engage them effectively and make them buyers.

Marketing is informing the public about your product and brand to spark up interest.
