In your choice of drapes for a s**ce, remember the first thing to consider during your client's briefing is your client's taste and budget. Once that is sorted, then you proceed to the following;

The Window - This is the s**ce that's about to be adorned. Don't neglect the structure. Take a good look at it to be sure that your design would work well with it.

Quality of the material - This can be achieved by the look (consider the vibes you're getting while looking) or feel (texture) of the material.

The colour - This could either be warm or cool or neutral depending on the colour psychology being considered for the s**ce. Remember, bolder patterns work well with plain or subtle furniture upholstery and plain carpets and vice versa.

Sheer curtains - Consider the wall colours when choosing this. They aren't meant to overshadow the drapes' beauty so always make sure they are toned down and be as invisible as possible yet beautiful.

Sewing design - This is dependent on a lot of factors like having the right equipment for the sewing, having the right expertise within your reach for such and maintenance of such should you require adjustments in the future, and the right accessories to give the drapes a good finishing.
