Google and Epson glasses.
Imagine playing games, watching movies, calling friends, sending messages, navigating the worldwide web and controlling an automobile with a glass!
Rising demand of portable technologies has led some companies to deep research. Google and Epson came up with digital glass. Google glass for Google and moverio for Epson. In terms of affordability, Epson is bit ahead Google while Epson lags behind Google in term of glass functionalities.
EPSON MOVERIO GLASS
In 2012, Epson launched her very first revolutionary transparent display, moverio BT-100, which latter received a lot of comments from the world. It lacks some basic functionalities, no front facing camera and eyes movement sensors. This limited developers from developing apps on the glass.
To solve short comings of BT-100, Epson released the prototype of its next generational moverio BT-200. It is significantly small and 60 percent lighter than BT-100. It is completely transparent, features front facing cameral and with motion sensors with helps developers builds amazing apps.
The moverio has control units that runs updated version of android 4.0 ice cream OS.
MOVERIO BT-200 SPECIFICATIONS
Below are full specifications of moverio

GOOGLE GLASS
Sergey Brin’s vision was brought to reality with the introduction of Google glass in 2013. Google glass is indeed a revolution to the world of technologies.
Essentially, Google Glass is a wearable Android-powered computer built into spectacle .
Unlike Epson moverio, Google glass does not have separate control unit. Its control unit is lumped to touch pad and speech. With Google glass you can perform the following tasks by mere speaking:
1. Record what you see and hear,
2. Share what you see with friends,
3. Send messages,
4. Cal friends,
5. Ask whatever on your mind,
6. Get answers without having to ask,
7. Get directions right in your front.
Google glass specifications:
1. Transparent Liquid Crystal on Silicon , field-sequential color, LED illuminated display,
2. Front facing cameral
3. Speech sensor
4. 6-hours battery life
5. 5-megapixel front facing camera
6. Touchpad
7. Android 4.0.4 and higher

Microsoft to Apple: iWork stinks,
iPads are toys, and you're
playing catch-up
After Apple slammed Microsoft for gouging
customers and designing tablets that
nobody wants, Microsoft has fired back,
saying that you can't get real work done
with iPads or its anemic iWorks
productivity suite, and that iPads are little
more than toys. Who's right in the
increasingly nasty war of words?

Texas Instruments chip helps you stay on the road
The company uses a mixture of ARM cores
and ones developed in-house to assist
drivers
By Mikael Ricknäs
IDG News Service - If you want to avoid
traffic accidents or aren't very good at
parking, the latest SoC (System-on-Chip)
from Texas Instruments offers relief.
On Wednesday, the chip maker announced
the TDA2x, which will be used to power so-
called advanced driver assistance systems
that help improve safety and reduce the
number of collisions on the road.
The TDA2x uses a mixture of ARM cores and
ones developed by TI in-house to
simultaneously run front-camera
applications such as high beam assist, lane
keeping assist, traffic signal recognition,
pedestrian or object detection, and collision
avoidance, according to TI. Additionally, the
SoC enables park assist applications with
surround view and rear collision warning, TI
said.
To help improve performance, the TDA2x
can combine radar and camera sensor data.
Higher levels of integration combined with
better programmability and improved power
efficiency should cut the cost for car
manufacturers and allow them to put driver
assistance features in cheaper cars.
Machine gun-toting robots may soon back up U.S. soldiers
Robotics blast targets with M240 machines
during live-fire demo at Fort Benning
By Sharon Gaudin
Computerworld - A robot, equipped with an
M240 machine gun, moves through the
darkness until it stops under a stand of
trees 100 yards from its squad of U.S.
troops. The robot uses thermal imaging to
detect enemy combatants hiding up ahead
and aims its gun at them.
With a single command from its human
controller, who is with the squad 100 yards
back, the robot opens fire and takes out the
enemy, saving the troops from a potentially
deadly attack.
A weaponized robot acting as a member of
a squad of U.S. soldiers fighting on the
battlefield is no longer science fiction. They
may not be two-legged, humanoid robots
yet, but with wheels or tracks they are able
to follow troops through a wide range of
terrain and back them up in battle.
Both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marines
have tested prototypes of weaponized
robots on the battlefield. However, armed
robots are not currently in the Army's
inventory of weapons.

Twitter reportedly kicking off roadshow
Oct. 25
With IPO expected to hit in November,
Twitter execs soon will start meeting
potential investors
By Sharon Gaudin
Computerworld - Twitter reportedly is
getting ready to begin its IPO roadshow on
Oct. 28 and then begin trading on Nov. 15.
The company is set to hit the road and
meet with high-level prospective investors,
including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley
and JPMorgan, between Oct. 25 and Nov. 6,
according to a report from CNBC.com , which
cited unnamed sources.
The company is expected to price its stock
soon after the roadshow ends and launch
its initial public offering on either Nov. 8 or
Nov. 15, CNBC.com reported.
Twitter did not respond to a request for
comment.
The micro-blogging company made famous
by the 140-character tweet, is launching its
IPO in the shadow of social network rival
Facebook's troubled IPO in 2012. After
Facebook took a year to stabilize its stock
price after a disappointing launch, investors
on and off Wall Street may be hesitant to
put their money behind another social
network.
Earlier this week, Twitter submitted an
updated S-1 filing to the U.S. Securities
and Exchange Commission that showed the
company lost almost as much money in the
July-to-September quarter of this year as it
did in the first six months of 2013.
However, the S-1 documents also showed
that Twitter's revenue in the three-month
period was $169 million, slightly more than
double the revenue the company pulled in
during the same quarter in 2012.
