54th Convocation of the University of Lagos.

Under the leadership of Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, and Prof. Risikat Dauda, Director of the Distance Learning Institute (DLI), on Wednesday 17th Jan, 2024 the University of Lagos awarded Bachelor's degrees to 2,664 students of DLI across various fields of study. Notably, 16 students achieved first-class honours, 446 earned second-class upper honours, 1,374 attained second-class lower honours, 749 secured third-class honours, and 79 completed their degrees with a pass.

Fifty-Fourth (54th) Convocation Ceremonies: Further Clarification on Entertainment of Guests on Campus 👉🏽

As the 54th Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Lagos continues on Tuesday, January 16; Wednesday January 17 and Thursday, January 18, 2024, members of the University community, particularly graduating students, are hereby informed that entertainment of guests can hold within Faculties, Lagoon Front and designated spots in residential areas.

However, parties are not allowed on the University Main Roads, Senate Car Park, and University Boulevard.

This means that entertainment of guests can be held in designated areas within the Faculties and residential areas, away from the University Main/Access Roads.

Due to various events lined up for the 54th Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), the Senate Car Park will be restricted for use from Monday, January 15, 2024 to Thursday, January 18, 2024.
Members of staff and the general public are enjoined to use other designated car parks during this period.

The Director, Professor Risikat Dauda, the management and staff of DLI, wishes you a joyous Christmas celebration.

Under the supervision of Prof. Risikat Dauda, the Director of the Distance Learning Institute at the University of Lagos, the Welfare Committee paid visits to the Modupe Cole Home for Orphans and the Physically Challenged in Akoka, as well as the Treasure of Love Missionaries of Charity in Ketu, on December 21, 2023. During the visits, gift items were presented to both homes in the spirit of the season.
May the Christmas spirit of love and generosity continue to inspire each of us, and may we never forget the power of small acts of kindness in making a difference in the lives of others.

On the 12th of December 2023, the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) at the University of Lagos conducted a workshop at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium. The purpose of the workshop was to enhance the efficacy of e-Tutors in facilitating smooth learning and communication on the Learning Management System (LMS). The event aimed to strengthen the collaboration between facilitators, e-Tutors, and students for an improved online educational experience.

On December 5th, 2023, the Distance Learning Institute of the University of Lagos accomplished the seamless ex*****on of its distinctive monthly Seminar Series at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium. The focal point of this event was an in-depth exploration of the theme "Excellence in Service & Leadership," during which Mr. Ibereayo Amoo shared valuable insights and perspectives on the subject. The seminar provided a platform for a comprehensive discussion, contributing to the academic and professional enrichment of the attendees.

We would like to invite the general public to our monthly seminar series, the November edition. The topic of discussion will be "Non-Communicable Diseases and Their Risk Factors in an E-Learning Environment." The seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, the 1st of November, at 11a.m. and will take place at the Nurudeen Alao Auditorium.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that complimentary medical tests will be offered during the event.

In preparation for the 2023/2024 academic year, the Director, Prof. Risikat Dauda and the management team held a productive meeting with the Executive Committee of the Distance Learning Institute Students' Association (DLISA). The focus of this meeting was to strategize and ensure a harmonious, smooth, and prosperous academic session.

The Director and the entire staff of the Distance Learning Institute (DLI) join together to commemorate the retirement of Mr. Anele Christopher, extending their warm wishes for a joyful and fulfilling retirement journey.
