EVERYONE NEEDS THESE SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES!!!!!!!!!!

1. When a phone falls in water...put it in uncooked bag of rice...the rice sucks off the water.

2. When you garment is stained by biro ink, use white colgate paste or surgical spirit to clear the stain.

3. When iron box is black stained.(kuungua) rub broken chalk or crushed panadol when the iron box is hot to get rid of the black stains.

4. Hydrogen peroxide has many uses :
· First aid for cuts-it stops the bleeding.
· For septic wounds-it helps stem the infection.
· Mouthwash-mix it with water and you have an antibacterial mouthwash.
· Bleach for whites.

5. Boil lemons and put the water in the fridge to remove the food smell. Putting charcoal on the fridge will also absorb the smell too.

6. Baking soda
· Gets the grime of tiles- scrub sink/tiles with a baking soda and vinegar paste.
· It is also a face scrub (mix with water and scrub (very good for oily skin).
· It also removes burnt food on pans (soak the pan in a baking soda and water mix for about 15 minutes and the food will come off easily.
· For acid reflux-mix a pinch of baking soda with water and drink.
· If you have run out of toothpaste u could use baking soda paste to clean your teeth

7. If your clothes get stained by chewing gum, rub ice cube on the stained part!

HOW MUCH MONEY IS NEEDED TO ENJOY CAMP?

The answer to this question is relative because it is not the same for everyone. I mean how do you determine how much is enough for others to enjoy themselves?

Here are the categories of corps members I met while I was in camp in 2015. I have adjusted the prices to reflect the current economic reality.

✅ The Manager (This is the category I belonged because I practically managed myself😂)
👉 400 naira per day which averages 8k - 10k.
👉 Spend the whole day in the kitchen.
👉 You might not even get to spend it, so save it and buy 500 Naira suya on Saturdays with chilled Coke.

✅ The Average Guy (Not so rich, not so poor😎)
👉 1200 Naira per day which averages 24k - 30k.
👉 You can eat one meal a day at mami (2 at the camp kitchen).
👉 You will still have some change left for snacks, coke, beer, etc.

✅ The Balling Guy (Category for the heavy pockets💰)
👉 2,300 Naira per day which averages 46k - 60k.
👉 Eat all your meals at mami with cold drinks to wash it down.

Double the budget if you:
👉 Want to be taking girls to shawarma joints or restaurant.
👉 Want to be treating your guys to chilled bottles every other night.

My Advice
Be like the average guy and you will still enjoy camp. 30k after transport fare and every other expenses is good enough. No go do pass yourself!

⚜️ *1. Be Fully Prepared*
A Popular saying goes like this; Proper Preparation prevents Poor Performances. You have to prepare yourself, your body, soul and spirit. Orientation camp is not a place of conveniences, you will be trained so hard that you will be able to stand every challenges you can ever come through during your service year. Do not be scared, it’s going to be fun, yes. Really fun.
Do not go there with a Mindset that you are going to be comfortable like you are at home. Just get that.

⚜️ *2. Itemize All Your Needs Using A Scale Of Preference (very important ones first):*

📍 *1. Very Important Ones*
These are the very important and mandatory ones. You cannot forget any of these. Do not say you will print when you get to camp. Make sure they are in your box. Check it when you are leaving the park. You just cannot forget them at home.
a. Statement of Result
b. School ID card
c. Passport photographs (10 copies or more, Surplus is better than inadequacy)
d. Call-Up Letter (DO NOT laminate it please)
e. Green card (Do not laminate)
f. Medical Fitness Certificate (if you are yet to get yours, chat *ME*

g. A Clear Bag file (To house the above items)
Make sure they are all printed with a coloured printer and do not laminate any of them.

📍 *2. Important Ones (For your Convenience)*

You don’t like to be stressed? I do not like to stress you too. The following items are for your conveniences. They are not mandatory, they are just for you, and they are for your conveniences sake. If you really like to be stressed, just jump this list.

a. A waist Purse to house all your valuable materials.
b. Two or three white T-shirts and shorts (You will be given two sets but you may not like the quality, the size and the colour.)
c. Two or three pairs of socks and a white rubber tennis shoes. The Fulani style white waterproof shoe might help. (You would be given in Camp, but trust me, you might not want to rely on that because of quality, size and type.
d. Bathroom slippers and Dettol (Do I need to preach on this?)
f. One plastic buckets (You can buy it in the camp but it "may" be more expensive) and a permanent marker because some things can really disappear.
g. Sponge and its case, bath-soap and detergent (Do I need to add this?)
h. Bed spread, towel and wrapper and two pairs of casual wear (yup)
i. Mosquito Net (It’s advisable you get one. Although, there will be too many people in your hall, that Mosquitoes will die of overfeeding. You know your health and you know what you need.)
j. Small-sized Torchlight/Rechargeable lamp (small one please)
K. Your ATM card(s) as there will be POS where you can withdraw. (Charge rates by the owner of the POS)
o. Cooler cup and spoon (You can get at camp. You would even prefer #20 disposable plates)
p. Phone and charger (You need to create memories)
q. Beverages (Now some people are happy)
r. Ladies could add any other few conveniences. I believe you understand me *wink*😏
s. Money! Money!! Money!!! Hold good cash please depending on how you spend

⚜️ *3. Go Early:*
Please go to where you are posted early. Even if you would go by flight, make sure you go on the day Stipulated for you on your Call-Up Letter.

⚜️ *4. Screening:*
The screening starts at the gate, where your loads are open and thoroughly search. They don’t want you to bring in prohibited items like iron, knives, bombs, etc.

⚜️ *5. Registration:*
The first registration will certainly be for hostel/bed space, where you'll be given tags to identify with. Then the paper registrations proper follows. Try as much as possible to make everything available. Look out for information pasted on walls. Follow instructions strictly.

⚜️ *6. Your Kits:*
During the registration, you will get all your kits (shirts, shorts and shoes). Use the marker to write your Code Number (CN) on them "sharp-sharp” You will also be given a tag that will show your CN. That will be your ID Card temporarily. You take it everywhere in camp. You will be given a meal ticket. Misplace it and forget about NYSC food and bicycle allowance.

⚜️ *7. Duration:*
You will be in the camp for 20 full days. The 21st day is the day you will be leaving the camp.

⚜️ *8. No Room For Casual Wears except Sundays till 2Pm*
Immediately you have your kits, only your T-shirt and shorts with the tennis shoe are allowed on you. No room for casual wears. Parade/marching training starts immediately. The soldiers will not give you breathing space at all. You will have the first one that same Day One. Watch Out! People could be fainting on the Parade Ground. You won’t faint, calm down. So eat well. It’s the stress that causes their fainting.

⚜️ *9. Morning Regimented Programme:*
A small trumpet wakes you at 4am. Everybody gathers at the Parade Ground (PG) at 4:30am. You have your praise, worship and prayer the Christian and Muslim ways. After the morning admonitions, by 7am, breakfast follows!
After eating, you will be called out again for the series of programme lined up for you. Then you have your lunch.
Rest a little and you are out again for evening parade.
Then later your dinner. This will repeat itself everyday perhaps except on Sunday.

⚜️ *10. Hate The Food And Feed Yourselves At Your Costs:*
You may not like the food. You can always go to the Mammy Market (MM) i.e the Camp Market to fill your ‘tank’ with delicacies at your cost. (Ladies always have their ways, may God help we the men)

⚜️ *11. Stealing:*
Stealing is prevalently prevailing at the Camp. They can steal anything Stealable, Be wise.

⚜️ *12. Soldiers:*
Please I beckon on you all to respect and obey them. Although they are not permitted to beat you, however, they can punish you. No walking, it’s all jogging when they call you. Don’t prostrate or kneel down greeting a soldier. Do it the soldier way. They could be friendly anyway. Always add “Sir” to every words.

⚜️ *13. Allowee:*
Your first allowance *(₦33,000)* will be given to you in the camp, and it will be in cash. You will also get Bicycle Allowance

Procedure For NYSC Orientation Camp Registration Detail - NaijaWhisper The national youth service corps (NYSC) is a one year compulsory programme for all graduate of higher institution under the age of 30 from Nigeria. It is

OFFICIAL NYSC CAMP REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Call Up Letter:
This is a vital part of camp registration and the only evidence that you are a prospective corps member and you are not impersonating anyone. This will be taken from and not returned to you. So if at all you even forget your luggage, never forget this.

Tips:
Do not laminate it. You can always re-print it online if you subscribed (N3,000) to that option.

2. Registration Documents:
If you are a foreign graduate, take along the original credentials you uploaded (to the NYSC Portal) for physical verification/evaluation.

3. Green Card:
It contains your bio-data. Print and bring along your signed copy.

4. Final Year Student Identity Card
Don't ever forget this.

5. Notification/Statement Of Result From School.
Your certificate from school.

6. Medical fitness certificate

7. Photocopies Of Your Documents:
Now make about 3 copies of every
document required. There would be
photocopiers in camp at mammy market but trust me, it is double the price and it saves time.

7. Passport Photographs: This is very important. Take as many as you can, about 5 in red backgrounds. You would need them for different kinds of registration. e.g, skill acquisition groups, religious groups, sports, redeployment, bank account opening etc.

8. My CLEAR BAG: You’ll need to put the aforementioned in a portable envelope/ bag that can withstand some amount of wear/tear. Hence, My Clear Bag.

Tip: The forms that will be handed to you are very easy to fill. Attach your passport where necessary and fill them correctly.

After your registration, you will be issued your State Code Number. This will be like your PIN throughout your Service Year.

PART 2:

9. Certificates/Licenses: For Doctors, Pharmacists, Nurses & Lab Scientists, take along your proof of certification. Graduates of Medicine and Pharmacy are expected to have their Certificates of Registration with Nigerian Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (NMDCN) and
Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) respectively.

HND holders are advised to go with their OND certificate.

10. Stationery: PEN, PAPER, GUM. This saves time and lots of unnecessary begging.
Tip: Some camps do seize staplers at the gate during check-in. But do not forget to include pins in your stapler if you still decide to take it along.

You will be given a meal ticket that gives you access to the Camp kitchen for the 21 days. Lose it and you have to feed yourself. Even if you do not intend to use it, you will come across someone who would appreciate the kind gesture.
Tip: After getting your NYSC State Code Number (which you have to wear around your neck all through camp with your ID card), you can proceed to claim your NYSC Kit and Mattress after which you can proceed to get a Room. After you have gotten your kit and secured a place in the hostels, you can settle down and you are good to go to start the Military parades.

Your NYSC kit should contain 1
NYSC Crested Vest, a pair of Khaki
Trousers, Cap and Jacket, 2 White T-
shirts, 2 Pairs of Knickers, 2 pairs of
green-stripped Stockings, A Pair of
Orange Jungle Boots and One Pair of
White Converse. A “Belt” is also included.

PART 3: (DAILY NEEDS)

11. Round-necked White T-shirts: This is an essential outfit in camp in fact in most camps this is the only allowed cloth to be worn throughout your 3 weeks. Even to church, you might not be allowed to wear colored cloths. You would be given 2 pairs of white t-shirts at camp to just fulfill all righteousness which surely would never be your size especially our very slim and small otondo in size. So you can bring extra pairs (6).
Why? Because you probably wont have time to wash during the week after being stressed out from the parades and Man- O-War drills.
Tip: Do not carry more than 2 pairs of colored clothes because you wont need them.

12. White Shorts:
I beg you please bring yours along. You would also be given 2 pairs of shorts which are really poor in material. They tear easily and it can be annoying. So my dear Otondos bring like 4 pairs of shorts. Trust me, you wont like to wash everyday, so bring enough to last you like 3 days so that you wont be stranded.

13. Plain White Sneakers/Tennis Shoes:
This is a very important outfit. you would also be given an ugly pair of low quality white tennis shoes
customized for NYSC. It’s either you are not given your size although you can find someone with your size and swap. But after the first wash it starts tearing. So just buy yours (white). They also sell this in camp, so in case you are not able to get, you can buy in camp. Just carry extra cash for that because the price would be higher _as with everything in Mammy_ because they know you have no choice than to buy.

Now, If you happen to camp during the rainy season, get white rubber sneakers/boots especially if you’re posted to the Southern part of the country (esp. the South South.
The parade fields/mammy market will be messed up after the rains. You will get this in camp.

14. White Socks:
Just get extra pairs.

15. Padlocks:
Always lock your boxes and bags to avoid regrets and tears. I know someone who lost more than 5 items including his two phones – like he’s the only one in camp.

16. WAIST POUCH:
F***y pack/Bum bag (or for the more fashion-conscious, a cross-body purse). The bum bags are more popular because they won’t bang against you when you’re active and your hands are free to do whatever. You need it to carry your money, phone, small valuables, pens, etc. around with you at all
times. You should sleep with it too.

17. Mosquito Treated Net:
You would do not want to fall sick in camp from malaria and miss out on the fun. Just bring yours. Also bring ropes you would use to hang it. The nets usually have these. I also used mine as a room to protect my box and properties from thieves and also from some insects and ants.

18. Basic Drugs:
Like paracetamol, medicine for your allergies, menstrual pain relief drug, use a relief drugs, antibiotics e.t.c. The camp clinic is sometimes inadequately stocked with drugs so help yourself.

3. Sophisticated devices eg laptop, stove, gas etc
4. Electrical appliances eg pressing iron, clippers, extension wire etc
5. Cookeable food stuff eg raw yam, noddles etc
6. Metallic cutleries eg fork, table knife etc
7. Weapons of any kind.

*NOTE*
When given an oversized or undersized shoes, find someone (fellow PCM) who has what you are looking for and exchange or better still be polite in approaching any other platoon officer who have your size to Exchange for you. And then, for the khaki trouser and jacket be rest assured of giving your #1500 to the mami tailors for the resizing.
