Men of the Lagos state police command have arrested singer Portable. The singer was arrested today May 14 following a petition from a car dealer. Following a petition from the dealer, the police moved in and arrested the singer who is currently in their custody.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest of the singer.

BARR CHIJIOKE PRECIOUS SAN WROTE:
THAT YOUR FIRST SALARY IS YOURS
In the controversy regarding who owns YOUR first salary, YOUR pastor, dibịa or YOUR father, I resolve it in YOUR favour. That money belongs to YOU. Use it for what YOU wish. YOU can also give it to anyone YOU wish, YOUR father, mum, aunt, uncle, pastor, dibịa, beggar, a cause, a person in need etc.
Spiritually, (if YOU are spiritual) YOUR first earning belongs to God. God is in YOU. So exercise YOUR sovereign will to do what YOU like with it according to YOUR need at the time. I don't believe in magic. There is no proof that those whose pastors, dibịas or fathers took their first salary turned out better than those who did not hand it over to them. Believe me YOUR father or pastor or dibịa gave no one their first earning. And YOU can always give YOUR pastor, dibịa or father money any other time YOU wish. It doesn't have to be your first earning. Stop being superstitious. Neither YOU, YOUR father, pastor nor YOUR dibịa is a magician.
Let no one beguile YOU. It's all about YOU. Yes, YOU.
Glory be to God in the highest for YOU. Hallelujah.

Tinubu was able to steal an election when he wasn't President.
In 2027, he will be running for reelection as the President. This means INEC, POLICE, CBN and other agencies/institutions will be deep in his pocket.
Instead of us to start building alliances with others to unseat him, we are further destroying the house we had in 2023.
Presently the Obidient movement isn't as strong as it was in 2023. Take it or leave it.
Many that voted in 2023 will not vote in 2027, because of the lack of truth for the electioneering system.
An alliance across the political sphere should be the goal at this point, if truly we all want a New Nigeria with Peter Obi as President.
It's becoming obvious that many will not speak up in support of this because they are scared of being cancelled. So you want to remain in the good books of the emotionally blinded individuals. But if you love Nigeria and want Peter Obi to succeed then you have to start speaking the truth of an alliance that's the only way out.
Nobody wins an election by emotional takes.
We have to be strategic is thinking and action.
Tinubu Orders Suspension Of Cybersecurity Levy
President Bola Tinubu has instructed the Central Bank of Nigeria to halt the controversial cybersecurity levy policy and conduct a review.
This follows the House of Representatives' resolution last Thursday to request that the CBN rescind its circular mandating all banks to charge a 0.5% cybersecurity tax on all electronic transactions in the country.
The CBN on May 6, 2024, issued a circular mandating all banks, mobile money operators, and payment service providers to implement a new cybersecurity levy, following the provisions laid out in the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc) (Amendment) Act 2024.
Another presidency official who preferred to remain anonymous as he was not authorised to speak on the issue said these discrepancies prompted the President to order a review.
“If you look at it, the law predates the Tinubu administration. It was enacted in 2015 and signed by Goodluck Jonathan. It is only being implemented now.
“You know he (Tinubu) was not around when that directive was being circulated. And he does not want to present his government as being insensitive. As it is now, the CBN has held off the instruction to banks to start charging people. So, the President is sensitive. His goal is not to just tax Nigerians like that. That is not his intention. So, he has ordered a review of that law.”

‘Attempt To Impeach Fubara Will Be Resisted’ – Rivers Govt Warns APC, Says 27 Lawmakers Don’t Exist
The Rivers State Government has slammed the All Progressives Congress, APC, over its call on the State House of Assembly to immediately commence an impeachment process against the governor of the state, Siminalayi Fubara.
The state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, explained that the 27 lawmakers in the State House of Assembly lacked the moral standing to impeach the governor.
The commissioner warned the APC lawmakers, who are loyal to Federal Capital Terrority, FCT, minister, Nyesom Wike, against embarking on such a venture, stressing that any attempt to impeach the governor will be resisted by the Rivers people.
Report has it that the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, had at a press conference in Port Harcourt called on the State Assembly to quickly commence impeachment process against the governor.
Okocha stated that the impeachment was necessary because the governor “has insulted the sensibility” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who waded in to resolve the lingering crisis in the state.
However, the Information and Communications Commissioner, in a quick response, said Okocha lacked the morality to talk about the state government, noting that Okocha was not a legitimate member of the APC.
According to the commissioner, attempts to impeach the governor would not be an easy journey, noting that the people of the state would resist such moves with their blood.
He said, “It is not going to be an easy journey. They should not imagine embarking on it because Rivers people will resist them. Rivers people will resist them because it is even baseless to think of it. They are not fighting with legitimacy; they are only fighting for their own survival. On what plank will you put that? The law says you can’t put legality on illegality.
“As far as we are concerned, they do not even have the locus standi to do that. They should not even bother to start it because Section 109(g) has settled the case. It says if an Assembly member defects from his own party that brought him to power, you automatically lose his seat. They have done that, and it is settled. Our Constitution is the grand norm.
“The court, the Supreme Court, is there to look at these elementary issues. There is also a subsisting judgement on this, so we don’t need a second opinion on whether we should respect them as Assembly members or not. The Supreme Court has already declared those seats vacant.
“Tony Okocha was just yesterday declared as not being a member of APC by a former chairman of the party, Sokonte Davies. He is a factional chairman. We want the faction led by Chief Emeka Beke to say the same thing. Okocha is standing on one leg. His call is an empty call. His advice to impeach the governor is a journey that leads nowhere, and they will not succeed. The lawmakers are not existent, and they are not seen in law.”

First Lady Celebrates Pioneer Nigerian Female Graduate Of UK Military Academy
First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday hosted the first female Nigerian graduate of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in the United Kingdom, 2nd Lt Oluchukwu Owowoh.
PUNCH reported in April that, at 24 years old, Owowoh joined 134 other Officer Cadets in London for the Sovereign’s Parade, marking the culmination of 44 weeks of rigorous training as part of Commissioning Course 232.
In a statement signed on Monday by the Senior Special Assistant to the First Lady on Media, Kukoyi Busola, Mrs Tinubu was said to have commended Owowoh for her outstanding performance and resilience throughout her training, describing her as a shining example for Nigerian youths.
The statement quoted the First Lady as saying, "Your determination and resilience are quite remarkable, and you are an inspiration to the youth of this country. As a woman, the first who has made a mark in a male-dominated field, I salute you.
"This is just the beginning. You are now a reference point for all Nigerian youths. If you remain focused and positive, you will reach your goal in life.”
The First Lady was also said to have requested the presence of the wife of the Vice President, the wife of the Speaker, wives of ministers, wives of Service Chiefs and members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to give a standing ovation to 2nd Lt. Owowoh.

He stated that she excelled in three areas, which were academics, military subjects, and physical fitness.
"She has since been assigned to the Nigerian Military Intelligence Unit on her return to the country," the statement added.

Shettima: Tinubu inherited bad economy from Buhari
Vice President Kashim Shettima says President Bola Tinubu inherited a dire situation when it took over from his predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2023.
Shettima said this during a meeting with a delegation from the United Nations System in Nigeria at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
Shettima noted that fuel subsidy had been an albatross around the neck of successive governments in Nigeria.
He said: “We had two options – either we get rid of subsidy or subsidy will get rid of the Nigerian nation.
“We have to be our brother’s keeper, but we were literally subsidising the fuel of the entire West African region.”
The Vice President said Tinubu’s decision to abolish the subsidy and unify the exchange rates to allow the naira to float freely “created a lot of challenges from the humanitarian end”.
Shettima added that removing fuel subsidy and unifying exchange rates were tough but necessary decisions to rescue Nigeria from economic disaster.
He, however, assured Nigerians that the country would work closely with the United Nations to address the nation’s challenges.
The Vice President also promised the UN delegation that Nigeria would close ranks with the global body.
On his part, the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria, Mohammed Fall, said the global body would collaborate with President Tinubu’s administration to attain the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Nigeria.
He stated that the UN was of the conviction that the success or failure of Africa depends on Nigeria.
According to him, the progress of Nigeria translates to the development of Africa.
Fall added: “If Nigeria doesn’t make it, there is no chance for any country to make it.
“If Nigeria lifts it here, not only our sub-region but the entire continent and the world at large will be on track for the SDGs.
“If we succeed in Nigeria today, the whole of the continent succeeds, but if we have challenges or difficulties to succeed in Nigeria, I am sure it is all of our continent that will be pulled down.”

P’Harcourt Road will be completed by year-end, Otti tells Aba residents
The Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has assured residents that the construction of the Port Harcourt road in Aba will be completed and fully functional by the end of 2024.
The governor disclosed this to the crowd of Abia residents, among others, on Tuesday night at the grand finale of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi, a six-day programme organised by the Deeper Christian Life Ministry.
Addressing the audience, Otti recalled the scepticism surrounding the project when it commenced in October of the previous year.
He said, "When in October, we brought Julius Berger to Port Harcourt Road, people said it wasn't possible. A road that has not been used for 20 years is going to be used by the end of this year.
"I always refer to the story recorded in the Bible between Philip and Nathaniel. He went to Nathaniel and said we have found him, which is written about in the Bible by the prophet Moses and other prophets. Jesus, the son of Joseph, Joseph of Nazareth
"Nathaniel asked, 'Can anything good come out of Nazareth?' And what did Philip tell him? 'Come and see!' the crowd responded.
Otti also expressed optimism for the future of the state, as he addressed the past perception of Abia.
He added, "In those days when you mention Abia State, people will dismiss you. 'Can anything good come out of Abia State?' It even became a comedy skit.
"So anybody who asks that question again, what will you tell him? 'Come and see!' the crowd responded again.
"So this is still early morning; 11 months (of my administration), greater things are coming."
PUNCH reported in October 2023 that Otti flagged off the reconstruction of the perennially dilapidated 6.7 kilometres of Port Harcourt Road, Aba, and equally gave an official completion date of 18 months.
It was reported that the Port Harcourt road, one of the most deplorable federal roads in the state, was awarded to construction giant Julius Berger at a rate of N30 billion.

Accept tariff hike or face total blackout — minister of power Adebayo Adelabu, tell Nigerians
The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has warned that there would be a total blackout in the country in the next three months if the proposed electricity tariff hike is not implemented.
The minister gave the warning in Abuja when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Power at an investigative hearing over the recent electricity tariff hike by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC)on Monday, April 29.
In his words
“The entire sector will be grounded if we don’t increase the tariff. With what we have now in the next three months, the entire country will be in darkness if we don’t increase tariffs. The increment will catapult us to the next level. We are also Nigerians, we are also feeling the impact.”
He said the sum of $10 billion is needed yearly for the next ten years to revive the nation’s power sector and nip in the bud the challenges bedevilling it.
“For this sector to be revived, the government needs to spend nothing less than 10 billion dollars annually in the next 10 years.
This is because of the infrastructure requirement for the stability of the sector. But the government cannot afford that. And so we must make this sector attractive to investors and to lenders. So, for us to attract investors and investment, we must make the sector attractive, and the only way it can be made attractive is that there must be commercial pricing.
If the value is still at N66 and the government is not paying subsidy, the investors will not come. But now that we have increased the tariff for A Band, there are interests being shown by investors,” he said.
Adelabu said the inability of the government to pay outstanding N2.9 trillion subsidy was due to limited resources, hence the need to evolve measures to sustain the sector.

Petrol Scarcity: Supply Challenge Will Last For Another 2 Weeks – IPMAN
As acute petrol supply challenges enter its second week, independent marketers have explained that issues that led to the scarcity of the product would take another two weeks to be fully resolved.
Checks around Abuja on Sunday showed that most stations were out of stock with very few major marketers dispensing the product in Abuja city centre. At the suburbs, the few stations opened to motorists jacked up their pump price from N680 per litre to N870 per litre.
Speaking to Vanguard on the situation, the Public Relations Officer, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Chief Chinedu Ukadike said the product was not available in-country.
Chief Ukadike blamed the acute shortage in supply of importation bottlenecks and the slow pace of marketers licence renewal by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA.
He disclosed that only 1,050 marketers out of 15,000 have had their licences renewed by the NMDPRA.
He said: “The situation is that there is no product. Once there is lack of supply or inadequate supply, what you will see is scarcity and queues will emerge at filling stations. On the part of NNPCL, which is the sole supplier of petroleum products in Nigeria, they have attributed the challenge to logistics and vessel problems.

A UK-Based Nigerian, Agu Chigekwu, identified on Instagram as richjoelng, recently called out popular Nigerian Pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, better known as Odumeje, for failing to pray for members of the congregation at a recent event in London.
Chigekwu stated that he attended the event expecting to see Odumeje perform miracles and pray.

" He dey sing o, as he finish singing, people kon think say he go pray, before we knew it, Odumeje don disappear ," he added.
Chigekwu questioned whether Odumeje was a pastor or an artiste, stating that people came from all over the UK with their sick loved ones in hopes of receiving healing prayers from Odumeje.
He added, " Odumeje na pastor abi na artist? Is he a performer? So, na performance he come do for us all the way from Nigeria. No be even to pray for people.

"They think say after he don sing, he go pray. Make dem see the powers that this man carry . All those citadel, indaboski bahose , and all those kind of things ," he added.
In a separate video, Chigekwu clarified that he did not intend to criticise Odumeje but rather wanted to raise concerns about the event.
