I visited a school here in Lagos few weeks ago and I was so astounded at what I saw, it was a rude shock to see a primary school teacher with a nose ring(not even a nose stud) during the school hours.

I do see this in movies but never knew it could happen for real. And I begin to wonder what this sector has really turned into🤔😔😔

🌻Teach your learners how to creatively make a Nigerian flag.

🌻Get your learners to learn about the history of Nigeria through a talk show or symposium that will be organized that day.

🌻Organize an interesting outdoor game for the learners to explore like flag relay race,musical dance game,blind folding game,etal.

🌻Make your school scouts or some selected learners present an interesting match past in the school.

🌻You can employ a projector and laptop to show a movie to the learners that portrays freedom and independence of a Nation (I remembered there was a movie that feature how Nelson Mandela and other patriotic citizens fought for South Africa Freedom). You can also make your learners act a drama telling the story of how Nigeria acquired her independence.

🌻You can organize an Independence Day quiz by instructing your learners to study the history of Nigeria relating to independence ahead of the day in order to take part in the quiz competition. You can also organize a little gift for the winner or winners just to make that day a remarkable one for the learners.

🌻If there's time to plan ahead,you can as well Organize a customized Happy Independence T shirt for your learners with your school name and logo. Make this T shirt have a touch of green on a white background,your learned will love it and it will save the parent the stress of sorting out a costume for the day.

🌻You can also organize a Historical Walk with your learners if there's time to plan ahead. Your learners can visit Historical places like Museum or a place like Badagry where we have the slave trade historical sites in Lagos. An Independence Exhibition within the school which involves showcasing printed coloured sheets that tells the story of how Nigeria gained her Independence and lots of Historical facts can also be displayed.

🌻 Your learners can display a cultural dance for the major ethnic in Nigeria and can as well crown it up with a drama that preaches love within the ethnic groups in Nigeria.

🔖 Prior to the day picked for the meeting,a circular should be sent to the parents a week before the meeting through their wards regarding this meeting, likewise an SMS message should be sent to them inform of a reminder two days to the time.

NOTE 👉 (all the teachers must be present at the meeting and must be there earlier to prepare for the rentals and refreshment and also to welcome the parents as they come in with a handbill containing the agenda of the meeting.

👉Teachers are to dress well and not shabbily.

🔖On the day of the meeting, there should be a book for the attendees(parents) to fill as they arrive for the meeting with their child(ren) details provided for in the signing book.

💠Area Of Business (AOB) For The Day👇

📌 Welcome & Appreciation speech(sort for samples on Google).

📌 Inform the parents about the academic progress made so far with their wards.

📌Inform them about the school services and other relevant things you will be introducing to aid Learning before the session runs out next year(only promise what you can afford to give out to their kids and not what you won't be able to achieve in series of sessions to come. You must be careful with promises you give to parents)

📌Inform them about the security strategies you school is adopting and how the parents can be of help(see my nextwrite up on Security policy) .

📌Inform them on how to properly dress their kids to school including the colour of socks and shoes you want them to put on in order to be uniform. Also encourage neatness and as time goes by, Introduce appraisal for this(this was explained in my last Webinar on how to increase your school Enrollment. You can contact me for an update)

📌Address the learners Punctuality. The parents should be encouraged to assist in this area.

📌 Encourage parents to come to school for their wards textbooks and other Writing materials.

📌Inform them about any event the school will be embarking on for this term(if any) and encourage them to support the learners with physical materials and encouragement needed to aid the program.(samples of uncommon Termly events are discussed in my last Webinar on how to increase your school enrollment number)

📌 Address prompt school fee payment, importance and how to make the payment (physical or through bank).
Make you school fee policy known to them. Let them.know your teachers are highly Certified which demands Attractive salary in order to retain them and to do this prompt payment is the key.

📌Order of authority and Modus Operandi should be made known to the parents.
They should be aware who to log a complaint to whenever there's a need to do so,there should be orderliness. No exchange of fist with teachers or exchange of odd Language is permitted within the school premises,all grievances should be poured out to the office in charge of settling disputes.

📌Create a room for question and answer section.

During this session,you can share A Parent's feedback form whereby you will get to know what they want in terms of value to be added to your school,you get to know their taste and also know their standard when it comes to income for the facilitation of prompt School fee payment. (this was also discussed extensively in my last Webinar on school enrollment.)

📌Refreshment should be made available for parents and teachers available for the meeting.

NOTE 👉 (If you're just starting your school, I will advise you don't chose any PTA executive for now as not to give room for 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 and 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐛𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 because it's a phenomenon that PTA executives can give birth to unwanted debtors whom you might not be able to control.

💠 WEEKLY CONFIRMATION OF DELEGATES
👉Due to the unfortunate security situation in The country, it is compulsory for parents to do a
weekly confirmation in their child’s class on whom you have delegated to pick up your child other
than yourself.

👉Please note that the school policy does not allow a parent to pick up other parent’s children without
previous confirmation(you can edit this based on your policy)

👉Also ensure to submit your delegates passport or identity to the class teacher.

💠 HOMEWORK EXPECTATION
👉Home work is a shared responsibility that ensures success for all our pupils and students. By workingtogether, we will be helping them improve their skills and review their work. Please supervise
and guide your kids so that their work is neatly done and brought back to school.

💠 ATTENDANCE, LATENESS AND ABSENCE
👉It is important that children realise the essence of regular attendance and punctuality in school.
These habits once developed will establish a lifelong pattern for success.
Absence for a long
period of time may result in weakening the child’s enthusiasm for school. Please ensure your
child is consistently present and punctual in school.

💠 ILLNESS AND MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
👉No child will be allowed in school with symptoms of illness. In case of a medical emergency, the
staff nurse will attend to the child while the parents are contacted.

👉 HAIR EXTENSION
Hair extension of any kind is strictly prohibited. Pupils and students are not allowed to use beads of any size
in making their hair to school because this can be hazardous.

💠LUNCH
Pupils are allowed to bring food and drinks. The food should be cut into small bites especially
the meats. Please ensure that you pack your child’s lunch or that it is supervised by you before
sending them to school.
Water bottles should be inspected to avoid giving the children soapy
water. This has become a regular occurrence.
NOTE👉Lunch packs must come with your child not after.

For as many of us that are resuming tomorrow in our various states and for schools that are resuming at a later date, I will urge us all to begin this new session with an utmost spirituality.

I will want us all to totally commit the new session activities into God's care.

In the light of this, I want to challenge every member of this amiable platform to start the new session with 3Days Fasting and Prayer from the first day of resumption. Let's use this opportunity to seek God's favour and guidance for our school business, Parents and Learners. You can employ any material of faith that you're use to. Material of faith could be the word of God, water, anointing oil, etc.

The scripture made it clear that without fasting and prayer, miracle can't happen. So if you really needed supernatural miracle in your business this session, do well to partake in this 3Days fasting and prayer. You can extend yours to 7Days at will if you have the strength. You can also urge your head of schools or staffs in general to partake in this with you, they can break the fast at anytime convenient.

🔖Teachers Punctuality.

🔖Teachers Conduct and attitude to work(what and what they must and mustn't do.)

🔖Teachers attitude to learners and parents(curbing flogging and brutality of learners).

🔖Teachers Statutory Records (must be upto date)

🔖 Hierarchy of authority and delegation (must be cleared to them)

🔖Teachers Dressing and Hairstyle(your policy on this must be well communicated.)

🔖Teachers policy for your school must be revealed to them. Policies like maternity leave, permission out of work, lateness to work,shabby dressing, discount for staff's kids,etal(try and get each teacher a copy of this)

🔖Content delivery by teachers(must be top notch and excellently delivered including proper and upto date marking of notes)

🔖All Teachers are Marketers(let them know it's important they refer parents down to your school) You must attach an appraisal to this with a percentage/commission to be given to any teacher that refers a learner or family to the school.) Reveal this to them in order to boost their interest.

🔖They should strive to be the school ambassador by representing the school profitably(this should begin from their Community down to the school environment)

🔖 Encourage them to always seek for more knowledge by attending online and onsite training.

🔖Teachers are solution providers(they should make it their responsibility to see to it that all learners in their classes are able to read and write legibly and likewise improve in Numeracy)

🔖Make available and share teachers Feedback Form which should be submitted that same day(Progress Report). For this Feedback Form, you're to come up with a questionnaire that will make teachers express their thoughts towards your school. Ask them lots of constructive questions, ask them what they've heard people say concerning the school,either positively or negatively, ask them what they feel should be improved in the school towards achieving a service excellence, and so on. To get a fair and transparent response, tell them not to write their names on the questionnaire. This will help you get an undiluted facts from them.
NOTE👉 Do not forget to do the same to your learners after resumption, during the term. Questionnaire will be directed towards classroom/ content delivery and satisfaction.

🔖 Induction of new staff(s) should never be overlooked. The new staff must be properly trained to fit in (Employee Onboarding)

Towards a successful TERM and SESSION,I've decided to remind us of some checklist you mustn't skip in having a fabulous session👇.

✅Make sure all your policies are effective and practiced(contact me for help on this).

✅Do not give room for perpetual debtors. Try to handle them tactically this new session(contact me for help on this).

✅Be sure to put all Statutory Records in place in order to avoid issues with External State Educational Inspectors(contact me for help on this).

✅Your environment must be kept clean always including your classrooms and toilets. Likewise your janitors/Sanitary Officers must dress appropriately (you can get them uniforms to keep this in check). This is very important as school business is a serious business.

✅ Safety rules and first aid kit should be put in place incase of an emergency.

✅Your Preschool activities must be effective,trendy, felicitous and impeccable enough to sell and grow your school.(contact me for help on this)

✅Try employ an uncommon contents that can sell your school like sellable Foreign Languages such as Russian,Spanish, Chinese,French,German etal.
NB:Your class teachers can deliver this without a special Linguistic especially if you can't afford one.(Ask Me How?)

✅ Vocational Skills must be a regular deal in your school.
All your learners must be engaged in one skill or the other.

✅ Finally,school activities and events must be a remarkable one. This will help increase your school enrollment number.

🎯Nature Search Game: The contestants will be given script containing the name of some items to gather. The contestants will search near by for these items and it could be related to nature too,the contestant that has the largest items by the time the clock runs out(they will be timed) is the winner.

🎯The Sack Race: Contestants stand in a sack and once they hear the shot of the starting gun, they beg in to run while in the sack and funny part of it is that the lack room in the sack to pace the leg makes many contestants fall many times before the end of the race.

🎯Catching The School Bus: Requires the contestants to come out only with their inner wear (boxers or tights and singlets) and the one to dress up well, wear their socks&school bags, run off and get to the school bus or the finish line first, becomes the winner.(Self Care Activity For Preschool)

🎯Threading The Needle: This is also another outdoor event that can turn out to be very funny; it has to do with contestants passing some certain amount of thread through needles.(for a mature class&must be new needles)

🎯The Skipping Race: It involves each contestant with skipping rope in their hands, skipping towards the finished line. The first to reach the finished line is the winner.

🎯The Lime and Spoon Race: In this funny race, each contestant will run to the finished line with a lime placed in a spoon.

🎯The Candle Race: Here, the contestants walk rather than run. They hold a lit candle in hand and guard it from the breeze while they walk carefully to the finished line because a blown off candle disqualifies a contestant from the race.

🎯One Leg Race: contestants hold the left leg up with their hand and run with only the right leg.

🎯Filling the Container Race: contestants are made to fill water to the brim of a container (bowl or cup) with a sponge, then run to the finish line with the container still filled.

🎯Picking the balls:
contestants are blind folded and are made to pick balls into the basket they hold in their hands. The one that picks more balls becomes the winner.
