Today, as we mark the World Malaria Day with the theme “Advancing health equity, gender equality, and human rights”, we would like to highlight the importance of employing a rights-based approach in the future rollout of malaria vaccines.

This year, we are marking World Malaria Day with the promise of a new weapon in our armour in the fight against malaria. As we anticipate the rollout of malaria vaccines across the continent, it is important that we make conscious efforts to ensure no one is left behind and everyone irrespective of their gender or socio-economic status has access to malaria treatments and prevention therapies.
