Have you ever had to give a speech on behalf of something bigger than yourself? It sounds terrifying. But it doesn’t have to be.
What exactly is public speaking? It simply is anytime you speak in front of an audience of one or more with some kind of goal. That covers everything from a formal address at a podium or on a stage to people.
If you are responsible for giving a speech, there are three questions to ask yourself that will help get you started:
• Who is your audience?
• What is your goal?
• Why you?
your goal will drive your message, and knowing your audience helps you understand what will make sense to them and how they will most effectively receive information. Understanding your own passion for the subject gives you permission to bring in your enthusiasm and experience, including a story or anecdote that will make the speech more authentic.
To organize the speech, first define its one main message. After you write down the main points, rearrange them into a logical structure. Then write out the opening and closing sentences.
The first sentence and the last sentence are the two most important parts of a speech, The first captures attention and creates the first impression, while the last drives home the message.
Given audience attention spans, a short, concise speech is more powerful. You can actually make a strong point in less than two minutes.
Practice the speech out loud, at least a week before if possible, and record it. The more you practice, then the more it becomes natural to you.
When delivering the speech, there are three effective nonverbal techniques to keep in mind:
• Eye contact with the audience.
• Good body language, such as posture, facial expression and hand movements that match your words.
• Vocal tone. Be expressive!
But above all, relax! Public speaking is more about authenticity than it is about perfection. Nobody wants you to give a perfect, flawless speech. It’s more about connecting with people on an authentic personal level.

Ever wondered the impact of fafyDev sports outreach on the youths in the slum and their passion for the sport? Here's why👆👆👆.
fafydev is passionate about promoting and raising awareness of the the use of sport as a tool for youths development to drive positive change in the society.
football has been an important part of fafyDev's behavior change for crime reduction and a tool for development channeled towards underserved/under-represented youths in the society...
With the inception of fafydev soccer outreach in 2015, fafydev has donated soccer kits to various sporting organisations working with underserved /underrepresented youths in our society, to further motivate, inspire and promote the participation and thereby also raising awareness of the use of the sport to drive positive change.
Soccer training kits such as soccer bibs, footballs, cones, agility hurdles, shin guards, jerseys, agility ladder, soccer hoses, boots, sneakers and even first aid boxes to promote safe first aid practice during minor injuries when training - are given to these teams to support and enhance their participation.
Pls tag an underserved football team within Lagos and osogbo that you would like to benefit from this.
Tag a male or female football team in Lagos or osogbo (underserved teams in the slum areas) that you feel should benefit from this charitable outreach.

There is no better investment than an investment in self improvement. And, we're happy to help you in the journey to a better you with a few ideas on ways you can improve yourself. There are a million and one ways to achieve self improvement but we'll be starting off with 5 simple ideas that are easy, doable and cost minimal.
1. READ A BOOK
This could never get over-emphasized. Read as much as you can about things you know to know more and things you don't know. It would definitely increase your knowledge base and make it more diverse.
2. LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE
Now, don't get scared this is totally achievable no matter the age you're at ( this days a lot are achievable no matter your age) and thanks to technology even easier. You can just download some applications and games centered on teaching and improving language skills and you could even utilize social media and make some new friends that speak the language you're learning and give yourself some conversational work out. This is super interesting because learning a new language opens you to a new level of adventure.
3. LEVEL UP ON (A) SKILL(S) YOU HAVE
A great way to improve yourself is to upgrade on things you know, most especially in your school or work life. This is the digital age and the only way to stay relevant is to offer what no one else and nothing else can offer. YouTube could be your first port of stop as a learning resource and there are a host of others depending on your field of interest.
4. TAKE A COURSE
This doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming. In this days of online learning, there are many platforms offering affordable and even free courses that you can take in between breaks, while in traffic, in the restroom, while waiting on a meeting and so on.
5. GET INTO ACTION
Once you've decided to improve yourself then get into it. Decisions are useless without actions to back them up. Waiting would cause no changes or improvement. So, JUST DO IT.
There is really no way to improve yourself without learning, unlearning and relearning somethings. No knowledge is ever a waste and that might just be the information required to get that better version of YOU!
We always preach to our youths that you should NEVER stop! Keep GOING. Everything you need will come to you at a perfect time.
We always keep going!
Forever forward!

🅸🅳🅴🅽🆃🅸🅵🆈
Identify the skill you want to master/develop. You need to be able to specify the skill you'd like to work as it would determine your next course of action and the plan you'll draft out.
🅿🅻🅰🅽
As cliché as it sounds, 'No plan' is not a plan. So once you've determined the skill you want to develop, you need a plan to get from where you are to where you want to be.
Do some research and determine your game plan.
🅵🅾🅲🆄🆂
This is usually the most difficult part but very crucial to getting your goals.
Set out a time everyday to work on your skills and stick to it. Inconsistency would make the process a whole lot more tedious.
🅸🅽🆅🅴🆂🆃
Ever heard the phrase ' where your treasure is, your heart lies', it simply means whatever you put your money in would have your attention.
So enroll for paid courses, get materials and resources. If you paid for it you'll be less likely to abandon it.
🆁🅴🆆🅰🆁🅳
Attach a reward to each milestone. Gift yourself a reward for every or some levels you complete. It would give you things to look forward to and make the process more exciting and enjoyable.
🅲🅴🅻🅴🅱🆁🅰🆃🅴
Celebrate every progress progress . Share your progress and the achievement you make along the way.
🅿🆁🅰🅲🆃🅸🅲🅴
Practice makes perfect, so practice what you've learnt at every opportunity. Take on pet projects to display your skills. Offer to help friends and family with projects that require your skills.
🆂🆄🅿🅿🅾🆁🆃
Get yourself a support system to encourage you through the process. A friendly reminder or encouragement would give you the extra push you'll need.

My primary school teacher would say "Sport is one thing that keeps you fit, makes you feel healthy, and also make you understand alot about your body."
To me, this was a random story so, i never got to participate in any inter-house sport competition. I was a lazy person; this I know, but what I never knew was that my actions and inactions would reflect in me.
One day, on a Friday evening, I got into a fight with a friend on an issue we disagreed on, and what he said changed me forever.
"You obese child, you are not to even talk when normal children are talking."
That day, i felt stabbed, but I couldn't change the reality of what was.
I needed to do something about it, because his words destroyed my self esteem. I wanted my voice to count.
All I could remember was how Uncle Ayo always wanted me to participate in sports but my lazy self wouldn't let me. So I fell back to square one. To the race I never did.
I began to jog every morning. And even when it was stressful and tiring, I knew I needed to prove my class mate wrong; just once.
It's been 10 years now and I'm happy I took the decision I did in secondary School, because from this race I ever laughed at, I'm making a living out of now. And I'm grateful for such a statement ever made to me, It made me who I am now.
It's not too late to begin; start from the little thing you think doesn't matter. like I did (jogging).
