A child shouldn’t be explicitly told what’s wrong or what’s right. Take their hand, provide them the necessary tools, and let them distinguish for themselves what right is and wrong is.
It’s detrimental to society when students leave school dependent on one way of thinking and thus, can’t think outside-the-box. Equipping them with creative thought processes and developing their critical thinking skills ensures they’re ready to face the world’s problems head-on and solve them in the best manner possible.
When schools decide what the students have to think, they’re only solving the problems in front of them and getting a benefit in the short-term. On the other hand, granting them the resources to polish their creativity and employing methods that make them think for themselves, sets them up to solve society’s problems and make the world a better place. If you wish your children to grow in intellectuals who have the will to change for the development of the society, give them the right beginning at jodastev Montessori School..

Be the Parent
The act of forcing and pressurizing children in their academics is becoming alarming especially during the early years with regards to writing and reading. We tend to compare our children forgetting that they are unique individual that will unwrap their packages at different times.
There are times we need to get out of the way and allow children to learn naturally. We need to give them room to find their own way.
Young children are curious, imaginative, playful and so much more.
They need us to respect and support them on this journey by aligning with their natural ways of learning.
They need us to provide the necessary resources to explore and manipulate. This way they make their own discoveries and build their own knowledge base.
They need us to provide the environment and experiences to develop important skills.
They need us to have faith in them to unfold at their own pace.
They need us to approach them with humility.
They need us to understand and respect their rhythm.
They need us to be patience and wait for them to unfold.
Present your activities/lessons with love and enthusiasm, and at the right time. Not when you think the child needs to learn it, but when the child shows you that this is what he is ready for. Then, he will be ready and have success.

Job Description:
Instruct children (normally up to 5 years of age) in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool.
Do you force children to learn?
Do you follow their lead?
Do you understand their developmental milestones?
A teacher insisted a child of 3 years must write 1 to 50, held his hand to ensure the job was done. The child cried all through the process. He was not ready yet and was being forced. The teacher was interested in covering the curriculum. The child’s readiness, emotional and mental well-being were not considered.
I have heard of cases where children were forced to learn with cane over their heads.
Will learning take place using such disciplinary actions?
No, even if the child gets it, it's only for the moment. This is because the conditions in which such learning exposure is taking place do not lend themselves for such information to be committed to long term memory. Whatever, is learnt remains in the short term memory which is easily forgotten.
Forcing children to learn regardless of their wishes will affect their physical and psychological state.
Forcing children to do things sooner or faster will certainly not make learning effective.
We need to understand and consider how children learn.
We need to understand the developmental milestones of children.
We need to guide children to learn actively not by using force.
The conditions that help children to commit materials/information to long term memory and also makes for easy retrieval include: focused attention to the material or information, structure and organize the information, relate new information to existing schema, rehearse. The child can hardly achieve any of these when forced to learn.
Learning should be fun and children should be motivated to love learning.
Just like in the Montessori classroom children develop that joy of learning, as they learn at their own pace. The trained teacher follows children’s leads and guides them in the learning process.
Guide and allow them to have control of their own learning experiences.
