Well, that language got the first ever Nigeria film to be submitted to the Oscars film Academy disqualified.

For years, Nollywood have been churning out different kinds of movies but none was deemed fit for the Oscars (The highest worldwide film Academy) None until our Sister produced her movie {LIONHEART} a movie by an Igbo telling the happenstances in an Igbo family. The actors and actresses are mostly if not all Ndi Igbo but..
Oh yes, there is a but. But the movie was acted mainly in English language and that's why it was disqualified!!!

The Oscars Award Academy has disqualified Nigeria’s ‘Lionheart’ from the Oscar race in the Best International Feature Film category.

The Academy dropped the Genevieve Nnaji directorial debut, for having too much English dialogue.

RAYMOND:;; June 15th, 2011 is a day I cannot forget in a hurry, as it
was the day I met my dearest wife. On that day, I was
outside my room at my off-campus hostel, trying to put on
my ‘ I pass my neighbor ‘ generator when I suddenly saw one
of my female neighbours step into our compound gate with
this young and gorgeous looking lady. I felt my heart beat
unusually fast as they drew closer, and when they finally
reached where I stood, they both greeted.
At first I stood speechless and aghast, until my neighbour
introduced us, which I gave an abrupt response to, because
(as a young man who was running his 2nd degree in Law) I
had told myself that I wouldn’t allow any distractions from
the female gender. So I pretended indifference. But when I
returned to my room, I could not concentrate – I kept
thinking about the lady I just met. Right then in my mind, I
knew I wanted to know her beyond her name which kept
resounding in my head .
So I took up the bold step , walked to my neighbour’s
doorstep, knocked and told her I would like an opportunity
to sit and chat with her friend. As my paddy, she
understood and we both laughed. Then she told me that it
was my lucky day, as her friend was already complaining
that her phone battery was running out and she needed to
charge it. They both came to my room and I eventually got
what I wanted. We talked so well, and for such a long time,
like we’ve known each other for long. Her sense of humour
and sense of belonging got me so into her that I said within
my deepest heart that if only I could have her as a life
partner that it would be the very best thing that has
happened to me.
Funny enough, the next time we came in contact, I had a
different say. I felt hatred towards her, due to her
lackadaisical behaviour towards me. I kept asking myself if
she truly was the same girl who made me so happy the last
time that I even started thinking of having a future with
(lol), and then I had a rethink. However, like they say ‘what
is yours eventually comes to you and what’s meant to be
will always find its way’. After a while, I got to know and
understand her person so well, and realized that as our
faces and races are different, so are our personalities. I
chose to accept her the way she was, but also to mould
her into the kind of woman I desire.

**Looking Back…*

Raymond reflects : 4 years has since gone by and she’s
the only woman who makes me so happy and sad, as well as
laugh and angry. We’ve had our share of good and bad times,
but our love for each other has kept us going. She’s been
everything to me – a sister, a trusted friend, a mother, my
partner in crime, and above all, my beloved in whom I am
well pleased.
Angela gushes : It is amazing how our union turned out,
because there were a lot of doubts from people who never
thought we’d last together. It’s the possibility that kept me
going, not the guarantee. But now we are here. There were
obstacles and temptations, but for the fear and love of God
in our hearts, we were able to conquer. It wasn’t an easy
journey. Apparently the world is not a wish granting factory,
so I worked hard to make my wish become reality. Just like
it’s said, “a journey of a thousand mile begins with a step”.
Sure, we have our differences and get on each other’s nerve,
but when all is said and done, we bring out the best in each
other. What we have is genuine, and I am grateful for that.
For me, the moral lesson of our love story is that “there will
be someone that would come along one day and offer you an
entire galaxy, when you only expected a single planet”.
