It’s April 7th, World Health Day

Theme; 'My Health, My Right’.

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination.

We use the medium to encourage every member of staff to make use of the opportunity available to us though the Lagos Insurance Health Scheme.

- Make out time to use the insurance for your good. Don’t wait till you are sick before you do some test and have a medical check up .

- Be conscious of what you eat to nourish your body. Let your meal have plenty fruits and vegetables, little fat ,protein and whole grains.

- ⁠Take care of your Mental Health, focus on things you can change.

- Learn to “Rest”, your good health also depend on it.

- ⁠Drink enough water like 2-3 litres per day

- ⁠Stay active, engage in one or two types of Exercise weekly.

# Endosurvivor team, LIMH team and other partners participated in the Annual Endometriosis week, which got a lot exciting today at Dr Finnih's Park, Opebi link where 5 kilometer walk to # in our society was done.

Our Amiable MD/CEO, Dr Olufemi Omololu led .
Apex Nurse was on ground to lend her support.
Mrs Ijiwola, who had mobilized effectively was well supported by Nurse Ajayi, Nurse Anjous and Nurse Oloyede.
All exercised and walked to End endometriosis in our society.

This is to appreciate members of the sexual and domestic violence response committee for the excellent representation of the hospital's activities during the visit of the First Lady during her impromptu visit on Thursday. She was quite impressed and the sincerity of our responses was obvious.

As a follow up to our decision to offer free antenatal services and free birth deliveries for Women at the State’s General Hospitals to help cushion the effect of the current economic situation, I paid an unscheduled visit to the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital this evening, for an on the spot assessment on how effective the medical palliative care is being implemented. I also felt the pulse of patients on the care they’ve been receiving.

From there I proceeded to the General Hospital, Odan to assess the state of the facilities at the hospital and the medical quarters, with a view to determining the level of urgent intervention needed at the quarters.

*FLASH:* Governor Babajide Sanwoolu pays unscheduled visit to Lagos Island Maternity and the General Hospital, Odan, to assess the level of facilities and to see first hand how effective the medical palliative care is being implemented.

As part of the relief measures announced by the Lagos State Government to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal on Lagos residents, pregnant women in the state are currently receiving free antenatal care and child delivery services from the Lagos State General Hospitals and Primary Health Centers, Lagos Island Maternity Hospital joins in the free antenatal care as the current doctors’ strike is suspended
