HOW TO MAKE THE HOME A GREAT SUMMER PLACE FOR YOUR KIDS

Did you know plenty of unstructured free time and a lack of educational activities can lead to learning gaps in your child once they return to school next term?

This phenomenon is called a summer slide. Therefore summer activities for kids must be fun, entertaining and educational.

So even if your kids cannot attend regular summer school, here's one way you can make your home into a great place and prevent your child having a summer slide.

Organize A Family Game

Summer games for kids are one of the most engaging ways to keep them occupied. And what can be better than organizing a family game? Make your kids feel loved and pampered while enhancing cognitive skills with inquisitive games like Pictionary, Chess and Puzzles.

You can also play board games like Ludo, Snakes & Ladder, Chinese Checkers, etc. Fix a schedule for a family during the day. This way, summer games for kids will make them look forward to family time every day.

TEACHING KIDS INTEGRITY

We live in a society where our values don't always exemplify integrity. As parents, we are not in a position to prevent our children from being exposed to the many social ills and vices that exist, but we can teach and instill in them the quality of integrity. Integrity is an important aspect of our character education programme here in Micmary School .

Integrity refers to the quality of having strong moral principles or beliefs which includes virtues such as honesty, compassion, responsibility, patience, and character. It shapes our understanding of right and wrong, and good and evil.

Integrity is one of the cardinal qualities that can positively influence a child's character and behaviour in school and at home.

Here are some reasons why parents should spend quality time at home also teaching kids about integrity:
