The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has stated that its Product Authentication Mark (PAM) would commence from the 1st of July 2024.

Nigeria Correctional Service, Medium Security Custodial Centre Ikoyi, Lagos.
As part of the seafarers' day celebration, the Trade Union Congress (TUC) affiliate body reaffirmed its commitment towards catering for seafarers' who are sentenced or awaiting trials for various offenses at the facility.
The visit by the NMNOWTSSA on Wednesday, June 26th 2024, led by the National President, Chief Engr. Bob Yousuo .
The National President was accompanied by members across the four zones of the union.
The palliatives worth N2,000,000.00 was aimed to provide succour for seafarers' in the correctional facility and to reassure them of the union's support and commitment.
Items distributed to the inmate seafarers include- Bags of rice, cartons of spaghetti, bags of garri, bags of salt, cartons of bottle water, cartons noodles , palm oil, vegetable oil, and assort toiletries.

Despite the heavy rainfall on Tuesday, June 25 2024, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)Tin Can Island Command throng out to commemorate the 2024 United Nation International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking with theme: "Evidence Is Clear, Invest in Prevention ".
Led by the Area Commander of Narcotics, Tin Can Island Port Command, NDLEA, Mohammed Abubakar, and Port Manager, TIn Can Island Port, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mr. Sylvester Egede, staff of the agency were all out to sensitize port users , traders, truckers etc on the danger of illicit drug abuse.
The rally commenced at 1st gate of the port complex ,down to PTML ,then followed by a walking distance to 2nd gate and eventually terminated at 1st gate.

CSR: WALTOLYE DONATES MARITIME BOOKS WRITTEN BY FADIPE, SAMUEL TO UNILAG
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Management of Waltolye Limited on Friday 21 June 2024 , donated two separate books written by maritime experts to the Centre for Multimodal Transport Studies of the University of Lagos , Akoka Lagos .
The books are - "Barge Operations: A Panacea For Port Congestion In Nigeria's Maritime Industry (Operational Approach)" written by Prof. Samuel Babatunde , and " Nigeria and Global Maritime Industry", written by Moses Fadipe.
While handing over the intellectual materials to the Director , Centre for Multimodal Transport Studies of the University of Lagos , Akoka Lagos , Professor Iyiola Oni Samuel , the Managing Director of Waltolye Nigeria Limited, Chief Joseph Adebowale Atoloye stated that the books are materials for students of maritime and other related transport courses, saying that it's the organisation's innovation of giving back to society.
Atoloye who was accompanied by Olori Rebecca Kehinde , stated that his company has benefitted from the maritime industry , hence the need to give back to society.
A total of fifteen copies of the two books were handed over to the department.
In responding, Prof. Oni assured management of the company that the books will be used in classroom activities, even as he acknowledged that the materials were written by experts from the maritime industry.
Also, Author of one of the books, Prof. Samuel stated that the gesture is centred on knowledge advancement , enhancement and development, adding that intellectual materials have been described as a major obstacle in academic learning environment.
He said authors of the books are experts in the maritime industry with decades of practical based knowledge , experience and training ,stressing that transfer of knowledge is a welcome development.
