Oris was founded in Switzerland’s industrial north in the early 1900s and built on industrial principles. Hence the heritage bronze in the Big Crown Pointer Date 80th Anniversary Edition. But also nature. The deep green dial is a nod to the evergreen pine forests that surround our factory in the Swiss village of Hölstein. Two worlds, one story.⁣

The reference 3199-A ‘Honey Blue Flyback’ has a deep blue dial with honeyed beige indications and 23K yellow gold PVD-treated hands. All three references feature a ‘sandwich-style’ dial formed of two overlapping parts, with ‘double-printed’ indications and applied hour-markers, which adds depth and emphasizes the two sub-counters. The hands and hour-markers are carefully polished with a particular attention to details.

The 38 mm steel case adopts the vintage-inspired codes of the 1940s and 1950s, including ‘olive-style’ pushers, and features a 63 hours power reserve flyback chronograph movement. Each piece is individually numbered with an engraving between the lugs at 6 o’clock.

This 6007A/001 Calatrava was introduced in 2019, in celebration of Patek Philippe's new manufacture, which opened in the same year. Part of a 1000 piece series, this example was one of the few sold by Tiffany & Co, and includes corresponding paperwork and the retailer's iconic bright light blue outer box, in absence of a double signature.⁠ 💯🔥.

A more updated look to the series, this reference 6007A/001 bears a similarity to the 5212A Weekly Calendar, released just a year before. In particular, they share a comparable steel case with the dial layout is closely aligned, removing the month and week chapter rings with a seconds and inner hour scale respectively. At 40mm in diameter, this further attests to the watch's alignment with modern proportions and preferences.⁠

The dial is an unusual metallic, blueish-grey hue reminiscent of an iceberg, with indications and hands in white. The applied Arabic numerals are styled in a modern font, and filled with Super Luminova, giving excellent legibility even in darkened conditions. The centre of the dial features a carbon motif guilloché in a chequerboard pattern, giving texture and depth to the smooth dial.⁠

This Calatrava 6007A/001 is powered by Patek Philippe’s in-house calibre 324 SC, which is more commonly found in watches from the Nautilus series. A classic touch despite the watch's modernity, the movement is visible through the sapphire crystal display-back, encircled by an angled decagon, which contrasts with the otherwise smooth and polished angles of the case. On the sapphire glass itself is printed the words "New Manufacture", the Patek Philippe logo, and "2019", cementing the watch's connection with an important moment in the manufacture's history.⁠

Introducing the new Kurono Chronograph 3 HISUI:翡翠 - a fresh and distinctive art-deco design approach from master watchmaker Hajime Asaoka that takes inspiration from a piece of natural jadeite sensei collected along the coast of Itoigawa.

The 38mm HISUI:翡翠 introduces a new multi-layering painting process for the jade-green radial on the dial - a first in any Kurono timepiece. The layers deliver a raised visual effect against the purity of the off-white lacquer dial, mimicking taka maki-e (高蒔絵). The new mk.2 case is slimmer and has a significantly thinner visual profile.

Pointillism technique was applied for the jade-green radial to deliver an expression of the stone texture of jadeite. Additionally, the micro-metallic particles introduced are inspired by the mineral inclusions found in raw jade. A final coat of clear lacquer is then applied to seal, resulting in a luxurious gloss. The result makes it highly recognizable on the wrist from afar, but when up-close exudes a certain nobility like a semi-precious stone.

Extreme light-play is accentuated, taking on rich green to light seafoam tones according to the angle of light magnified through the box-sapphire glass.
