PRESS RELEASE

FG DECLARES, JULY 11th and 12th, 2022 AS PUBLIC HOLIDAY TO MARK THIS YEAR'S EID-EL KABIR CELEBRATION

The Federal Government has declared Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th July, 2022, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf
Aregbesola, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulates all Muslims and Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora on this occasion.

“I call on Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country, considering the challenges of insecurity we face at the moment” Aregbesola added.

The Minister assured that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is “committed to the security of lives and properties of all Nigerians, empowering the citizens for successful living, the provisions of social investments programmes and adequate security in the schools” he added.

Aregbesola, while wishing Muslims a happy Eid-el Kabir celebration, urged Nigerians to take responsibility by reporting any suspicious individuals and criminal activities they observed around them to law enforcement agencies with the use of N-Alerts application that has been designed to mitigate security challenges with prompt response from security agencies: as soon as you "See Something Do N-Alerts", most especially during this festival.

He also enjoined all Nigerians to be vigilant and observant of intruders in their communities. “We must all take responsibility for the security of lives and property as we celebrate this year’s festival” he said.

Aregbesola craves the indulgence of every Nigerians to come together, put our heads, hearts and all we have together, in order to achieve relative peace for harmonious coexistence and put an end to insecurities in Nigeria, he reiterated.

The Minister assures all Nigerians of the government’s protection of all under the law, maintenance of law and order and keeping the peace in all situations.

The ambition to develop and achieve greater success. The desire to keep going despite difficulties. Despite the problems we confront, the urge to keep pushing, to keep moving forward.

*S*X EDUCATION WORKSHOP*

S*X EDUCATION is an issue our society has given little or no attention to, downplaying its importance as it affects the upbringing of children.

Many schools have *DEROGATED* from their responsibility to ensure children’s recognition of acceptable social norms, resulting in decaying society.

S*x education is a form of *education acquired or given to young and unmarried persons to make them better understand the benefits of healthy s*xual behaviour* and the risks of unhealthy s*xual practices and behaviour. It is a process whereby teenagers learn or are taught the benefits of s*xual abstinence and the dangers of pre-marital s*x and s*xual misbehaviour.

S*x education is meant to caution children against immoral behaviour and to help them adopt healthy s*xual practices. In its overall effect, it promotes their spirit of academic excellence. S*x education makes a student perform creditably in class. It enhances his knowledge.

A student who is taught effective s*x education will never have his attention diverted. This is because, having knowledge of the risks involved in s*xual misbehaviour, students who do not want to be wayward and mediocre always concentrate on their studies and never allow anything to affect them. This helps to boost their academic performance, making them uncrowned kings and queens of academy.

*GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING TIPS TO HELP STUDENTS STAND ABOVE MATTERS OF S*X AS REGARD ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.*

📌Avoid reading or thinking about things connected with s*x.
📌Avoid watching po*******hy. It gives an urge for s*x which could lead you to misbehaviour.
📌Do not spend too much time watching movies. Prolong use of television could be obsessive and will affect your studies negatively.
📌Do not allow yourself to be disturbed or distracted by the s*xual advances or conversations from opposite s*x. This could cause loss of attention during classes.
📌Do not allow s*x to occupy your mind. This will affect your memory and lead to poor academic performance.
