GLAUCOMA
Glaucoma is one of the leading cause of irreversible blindness globally, known to be the Silent Thief of Sight because it is Assymptomatic, comes with no Sign nor Symptoms, yet gradually destroys and damages the Nerves connecting the Eyes to the Brain, which leads to gradual and permanent lost of Sight.

One of the known cause of GLAUCOMA is Increased Eye Pressure or what we know as Intra Ocular Pressure (IOP). This Eye Pressure can be controlled and managed if detected early.

Below are few things that can lead to Glaucoma
(1). Age: As we grow older, the eyes nerves and the eye in general tends to degenerate, making it prone to damage.
(2). Hereditary: Glaucoma can be transferred from Parents to offspring
(3). Race: Research has it that The blacks (Africans) are at a higher risk of developing Glaucoma.
(4). Trauma: Sudden Trauma, hit or Shock to the eyes or eye region can lead to an increased Eye Pressure, thereby causing one to be at risk of developing Glaucoma.
(5). Uncontrolled Blood Pressure, Sugar Level, Systemic Infections has its way of causing Glaucoma to the eye, so it is important to always go for a regular health Check.

Please Glaucoma is not a death sentence, it can be controlled and managed if detected early. It is important to always go for a regular Eye Check, at least Once a year.
