Innoson To Be Conferred Commander of Order of Niger (CON) By President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR At 2022 National Honours Awards.


On Tuesday, October 11th 2022, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR will be conffered with rank of Commander of Order of Niger (CON) By President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR At 2022 National Honours Awards.

The investiture ceremony will take place at the International Conference Center (ICC) Abuja on Tuesday, October 11th 2022.

Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma OFR born on Oct 1, 1960 has previously received two National Honours Awards under Late President Umaru Yardua (GCFR) when he was conferred with the rank of Officer on the Order of Niger (OON) and also during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan (GCFR) when he was conferred with the rank of Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR).

Dr Chukwuma is also one of the privileged recipient of the Nigeria Centenary Honour Award coffered on him by the then President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR in recognition of his role as the first indigenous local vehicle manufacturer in Nigeria and employer of labour in March 2014 during the Centenary Celebrations.

Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma, popularly known as Innoson is the Chairman/CEO of Innoson Group. Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing, a subsidiary company under the Innoson Group located in Nnewi, Anambra State is the first wholly indigenous vehicle manufacturing company in Africa with an installed capacity to produce about 60,000 vehicles per annum. Its sister company, Innoson Technical and Industrial Company Ltd where some of the plastic components of Innoson Vehicles are produced is reputed to be largest plastic manufacturing company in West Africa with over 150 lines of products.

Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma is the Chancellor of Imo State University and a recipient of about Seven (7) Honorary Doctorate Degrees from different Institutions which includes; Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, University of Nigeria Nsukka, University of Calabar, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Enugu State University, Bells University Ota Ogun State, Wellspring University Edo State etc.

He is a man endowed with high business acumen that dazed his contemporaries when he became the first private Nigerian to locally assemble and subsequently manufacture motorcycles as well as vehicles in Nigeria.

Through his ingenuity he transformed a small trading business (Innoson Nig Ltd) which he started in 1981 after his apprenticeship, to a corporate organization of international recognition known as IVM Innoson Group with six subsidiary companies.

For his philanthropy and Excellence in Business, Chief Chukwuma has been honoured with hundreds of awards and recognitions from the Federal and State Government, Academic Institutions, Media, Professional and Business Organisations etc.

Chief Dr Innocent Chukwuma OFR is happily married and blessed with children.

Gunkanjima Island - Nagasaki, Japan .

It was once the most densely populated place in the whole world.

This island is now a ghost town.

FEW PLACES IN THE WORLD have a history as odd, or as poignant as Gunkanjima’s.

The tiny, fortress-like island lies just off the coast of Nagasaki. The island is ringed by a seawall, covered in tightly packed buildings, and entirely abandoned - a ghost town that has been completely uninhabited for more than forty years. Not a single soul live there any more.

In the early 1900s, Gunkanjima was developed by the Mitsubishi Corporation, which believed - correctly - that the island was sitting on a rich submarine coal deposit.

For almost the next hundred years, the mine grew deeper and longer, stretching out under the seabed to harvest the coal that was powering Japan’s industrial expansion.

By 1941, the island, less than one square kilometer in area, was producing 400,000 tonnes of coal per year.

And many of those working slavishly in the undersea mine were forced laborers from Korea.

Even more remarkable than the mine was the city that had grown up around it.

To accommodate the miners, ten-story apartment complexes were built up on the tiny rock - a high-rise maze linked together by courtyards, corridors, and stairs.

There were schools, restaurants, and gaming houses, all encircled by the protective seawall.

The island became known as “Midori nashi Shima,” the island without green.

Amazingly, by the mid-1950s, it housed almost six thousand people, giving it the highest population density the world has ever known. And then the coal ran out.

Mitsubishi closed the mine, everyone left, and this island city was abandoned, left to revert back to nature.

The apartments began to crumble, and for the first time, in the barren courtyards, green things started to grow. Broken glass and old newspapers blew over the streets. The sea-breeze whistled through the windows.

Now, fifty years later, the island is exactly as it was just after Mitsubishi left.

Tragic: Nigerian socialite d while undergoing lip@suction surgery in India

A 28-year-old Nigerian businesswoman and socialite, Amelia Pounds, has d in New Delhi, India, following complications during lip@suction surgery.

It was gathered that she passed away on Friday morning, October 7, 2022.

Although, it’s unclear what led to the complications, she was said to have given up the ghost while being operated on at the hospital.

In a video filmed shortly after she passed, the doctor was heard apologizing to her.

The female spotted hyena has one of the most bizarre anatomies amongst mammals.

It's not only significantly larger, more aggressive, and has three times more testosterone than the male, it also has elongated clitōris that looks like a pẹ̀nis. The clitōris bears so much resemblance with a pēnîs that it misled early naturalists and scientists to theorise that there are no female spotted hyenas.

Just like a pēnîs, the female hyena's clitōris is capable of er****on.

What's weirder?

Female spotted hyenas give birth through that same clitōris. Imagine the pain of giving birth through a pénis. That's exactly what the female hyena suffers.

This birth via a pēnîs-like channel is as tragic for the babies just as it's as painful for the mother, because about 60% of the cubs suffocate on their way out.

High death rate has also been reported amongst first-time mother hyenas.

I Am The Ordained Homos*xual That God Loves - Gay British-Nigerian Cleric Celebrates Priesthood Anniversary

British-Nigerian priest, Jide Macaulay is in celebratory mood.

The openly gay cleric took to his social media page to celebrate his second anniversary as an Anglican priest.

The cleric, who described himself as the "ordained homos*xual that God loves" took to Instagram on Monday, September 26, to share his ''gruelling journey to priesthood; the trials, media attack, emotional, psychological abuse, racism and homophobia he faced for many years.''

"Today, I celebrate with thanksgiving my second anniversary to Anglican priesthood," he wrote.

"Too often we wait on God in expectation. We are forced to wait for our own safety and forced to wait because there is danger and harmful elements in the way. We are forced to wait for our own maturity.

Some things are settled by God a long time ago, we must learn to wait. I learnt to wait on God even at times when I doubted and was mad at God.

I have so much faith in God who never changes their mind in matters concerning me.

When I was ordained deacon in 2013, I was faced with barrages of hatred from within and outside the church. The media in my home country Nigeria vilified me and exposed me to dangers that I never anticipated. I have not returned to the country since 2012.

After the diaconate, it’s expected priesthood would have been the following year. But many events happened that caused me to step aside from my ministerial post at the time. My mother had died about 6 weeks after my ordination and the sorrow of her loss was too intense for me

I was in a difficult situation for several years, going through the wilderness of anxieties and facing many attacks I describe as spiritual darkness, religious abuse and wickedness in high places. I had developed chronic anxieties and depression, leading to high blood pressure.

I had faced years of racism, xenophobia, malicious acts, homophobia and stigmatisation by the Christian communities I trusted. But in all I laid it at the feet of Jesus in my lamentation.

The attacks were not just by strangers, who called for me to be executed, the death threats offline, online and in the media. But also some Christians, some Anglicans, family members attacked me verbally , emotionally and psychologically, they did so much to torment me and do everything to destroy me.

Each time I turned to the church at both parish and diocesan level, I was denied, silenced, the rejection was et tu brute.

I am the ordained homos3xual that God loves. This might be difficult for many but it’s been the joy of my life to serve God.

In all of this God is faithful. I am thankful that I surrounded myself with people who reminded me of my worth and validated my existence and ministry.

Today, is not about regrets but a reminder that the stones the builders rejected proudly becomes the cornerstone.

Gov. Ikpeazu Receives New GOC of 82 Division Of The Nigerian Army

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu earlier today received in audience, the new General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army Enugu, Major General Umar Musa.

Major General Musa took over from Major General Taoreed Lagbaja who is now the GOC, 1 Mechanized Division, Kaduna.

Abia is one of the states under the military jurisdiction of the 82 Division, Enugu and the GOCs work closely with the Governors of the states on security related issues.

Upon assumption of office, the new GOC pays courtesy visits on the Governors of the states that are within the coverage of the Division as part of their familiarization tours of the Division.

Governor Ikpeazu welcomed the new GOC and assured him of the usual cooperation of the Government and People of Abia State in the discharge of his current assignment. The Governor informed him that Abia was substantially safe except for a few places especially around Umunneochi and Ohafia LGAs where there are pockets of security breaches and violent crimes, and urged him to rise to the challenge of battling the challenge of kidnapping in those areas.

The new GOC was accompanied by the Commander of the 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi and other senior officers while the Honorable Commissioner for Homeland Security, Hon Sopuruchi Bekee was present at the event.

Bukka Hut CEO, Laolu Martins, reportedly ends it all in Lagos

Laolu Martins, an investment banking expert, who was also the co-founder and executive director of Bukka Hut, has passed on.

Bukka Hut is a restaurant that offers a wide variety of tasty homemade meals. Martins reportedly ended it all in his home in the early hours of Tuesday around 3am after giving up on his alleged long-fought battle against depre§§ion.

A Chartered stockbroker and a Chartered Accountant with 12 years of experience in investment banking, corporate banking, stockbroking, asset management and pension fund management, Martins started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1999.

He joined Investment Banking & Trust Company Plc now Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc where he served in the Financial Control and Trade Finance/Foreign Operations units of the Bank before being seconded to Stanbic IBTC Asset Management Ltd where at various times he was Financial Controller, Head Asset Management and lastly Head Stockbroking.
