*TOPIC: CHARACTER – A CAPITAL REQUIREMENT FOR EMPLOYMENT*

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. GENESIS 25:23.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your character is a capital requirement for employment. A person cannot matter if he has no manners.

Sometime ago, I was in London, during an economic recession. I picked an interest in a particular magazine where I read about the collapse of various financial institutions around the world.
A man shockingly pointed out that “Part of the reason for the collapse of many of those corporations was character bankruptcy.” He said that most of the presidents and other top management of those organizations were engaged in practices that were unethical. So, the organisations collapsed as a result of bankruptcy of character.
Then he continued, “A time will come shortly when what will be used to employ people is not intelligence quotient, or skill or expertise. Character will be first measured before any other thing is considered.”

Beloved, this has clearly demonstrated how crucial character is to our life and destiny. People are separated from the womb because of their manners or character (Genesis 25:23). You do not matter without manners.
Your character is a capital requirement for employment. A person cannot matter if he has no manners. The extent of your manners determines the extent to which you will matter. Esau did not matter because he had no manners.

Beloved, your manners is more important than your money. And your manners determine your meaning. Your manners determine your meaning in this world and in the world to come. Therefore, give attention to your manners.

REMEMBER THIS: Your character is a capital requirement for employment. A person cannot matter if he has no manners.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Treasure your character above anything else on earth.
2. Do not allow anything to affect your character negatively.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to work on my character. I receive the grace to uphold good character and manners, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: FROM PRESSURE TO TREASURE

SCRIPTURE: And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret, Luke 5:1.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To get the best out of your life, you must apply pressure on yourself.

It has been confirmed that pressure is key to releasing the treasures of life. Where pressure is not exerted on a thing, its treasure cannot be released and realized.

This means, to get the best out of your life, you must apply pressure on yourself. You need to squeeze yourself because life is not easy for those who take it easy. Life is hard for those who are easy on themselves, but easy for those who are hard on themselves.
You see, until you squeeze a fruit, its juice cannot come out. And until you drill the earth, you cannot find crude oil. Until the earth is dug, gold in it is not found.
So, to get the best out of your life, you need to squeeze yourself. You need to drill yourself.

One reason why the military, especially soldiers are an enviable and a valuable set of people is the way they train. Soldiers drill themselves so hard before their parades. They are hard on themselves. No wonder they are a strategic security arm of the government.
In the same way, you need to drill yourself or dig into yourself to release the treasures of your life.

There is nothing of value that is on the surface. Any fish you catch on the surface of the water is a tiny fish. There is nothing that is of value that is superficial. A superficial approach to life is the reason for the mediocrity of many people. Many people indulge in superficial living, superficial praying, superficial study of the Word, superficial work, superficial giving, etc. This is one of the reasons for the mediocrity of their lives.

Beloved, by all means, resist all forms of superficial living.

REMEMBER THIS: To get the best out of your life, you must apply pressure on yourself.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to pity yourself so you don’t end up in a pitiable existence.
2. Apply pressure on yourself to release the treasures of your life.

PRAYER: Lord, I refuse to be married to convenience and mediocrity. I receive the grace to put myself under pressure to get the best out of my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: PUTTING YOUR “LOT” BEHIND TO ACCESS YOUR LOT IN GOD.

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
Genesis 13:14-15.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot access your lot in God until you put your “Lot” behind you.

You are welcome to the Month of March, the third month of the Year 2024. In this third month, I decree that God shall cause you to experience greater heights in life, in Jesus’ Name.

It has been confirmed that everyone has a lot or portion in God. However, not everyone can access their portion in God.

Now, what do you do to access your lot or portion in God?
It is to put your “Lot” behind you.
Look at what God told Abraham in Genesis 13:14-15:
And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
You see, God only told Abraham to lift up his eyes and look after he (Abraham) had put Lot behind him.

The truth is, you cannot access your lot in God until you put your “Lot” behind you. You cannot access your portion in God until you put your “Lot” behind you.
Your “Lot” may be a business type, a relationship, an association, a connection or anything that takes your time without adding value to your life, just as Lot did not add any value to Abraham’s life.

Do away with anyone or anything that strives with you just as Lot strove with Abraham. Anything that strives with you to take you away from your God or take your vision from you is your “Lot”. Anything or anyone that occupies your time instead of God and your vision, is your “Lot”, and you must put it behind you.
Abraham could not see his lot until he put “Lot,” his nephew behind him. Until you put your “Lot” behind you, you cannot access your lot or portion in God.
Do not respect anyone or anything enough to allow them tamper with your portion in God. There are things you must put behind you if you must lay hold on what is ahead of you. Identify those things and put them behind you.

REMEMBER THIS: You cannot access your lot in God until you put your “Lot” behind you.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Identify your “Lot” or what to put behind you.
2. Make determined effort to put them behind you so you can access your lot or portion in God.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You open my eyes to see what to put behind me so I can access what is ahead of me. Open my eyes to see where you are taking me to, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: MAXIMIZE OPPORTUNITIES; REALIZE YOUR DESTINY

SCRIPTURE: A wise youth works hard all summer; a youth who sleeps away the hour of opportunity brings shame. PROVERBS 10:5 (NLT)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every passing day of your life presents you with an opportunity to define or redefine your destiny.

It has been confirmed that what you are today is the product of what you did or failed to do yesterday; and where you will be tomorrow is the product of what you are doing or fail to do today.
You see, every passing day of your life presents you with an opportunity to define or redefine your destiny.

For example, you may have the privilege of opening a door for an elderly person, a chance to make a presentation, or offer a particular service; never hesitate to maximize it. That is an opportunity for you to redefine your destiny; maximize it by giving it your best. This is because wasted opportunities of yesterday are the reasons for the regrets of today.

You see, there are people who work in a place half-heartedly. It is common to hear such people say, “I am just working temporarily here. My real work is not this one; by the time I get my real work, I will give it my best.”

If you have this kind of mentality, you are wasting your time. You are in essence wasting your life because time is the building block of your life. The wastage of time is the wastage of life. When the time ends for a person, we say, he has died.

You see, as time passes, and you are not investing your life and the best of all you have into time, your life is wasting without your knowledge.

The wisdom is, anywhere you find yourself per time, whether as a cleaner, sweeper, tailor, mechanic, or messenger, etc., give that task everything you possess. Let it become your habit to always give your best per time. After a short time, that excellence that has become your habit will form your character and your character will determine your destiny.

REMEMBER THIS: Every passing day of your life presents you with an opportunity to define or redefine your destiny.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to allow any opportunity or moment pass you by without sowing the seed of excellence and hard work.
2. Do not be weary in doing the right thing.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to be consistent in doing the right thing. Help me not to be weary in doing good, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
