So i get it. You have cap error on your large format machine. And you have changed the cap sensor.

You even reached into the back panel to make sure the cable was properly connected, and it was. Yet your large format machine is still giving you cap error, because of that you cant even Print because the error wont give you access to your large format machine.

In this video i have a fix for that. Why not lets disable the capping station entirely And let you get temporary access to your machine.

CART ERROR UPDATED.
I made a similar post like this some years back and i feel i need to update the information having better information. In the previous post i had mentioned that this error has several causes, ranging from station sensor, encoder strip, and paper jam. Now while all these are valid today, i have since found a few other things that may cause Cart error. So I have listed 2 of them below.

LONG FLEX CABLE
Recall that the explanation of this error is that it is anything that can hinder the mobility of the carriage board. Well, it turns out, that the long flex cable can actually impact the mobility of the carriage board. But why so. The reason is simple. The long flex cable is responsible for sending electronic signals to the carriage board. and when it doesn't get that initialization instruction, which primarily is a testing whether the Motor is working on the X AXIS. it returns A cart error.

DC MOTOR
Now this can always be a bit tricky, but if you think about it, it is the most reasonable of all. when you turn on your machine. That initialization behavior of the head moving a little to the right and left before settling on the cap is a pre-coded instruction written on the driver board. The long flex cable sends that code to the carriage board to perform that task. A simple instruction to move both to the left and to the right. that instruction however can only be performed by the motion controller, which is the DC motor. so if your DC Motor is faulty. there is no other way to perform that task so it returns the CART error.

Of these two issues however, the Cable problem is the most subtle. and in my experience, unless you have these parts, there is no way you can know this particular problem.

HOW CAN I KNOW IF THIS IS THE ACTUAL PROBLEM I AM HAVING
Here is a little clue to detecting if the motor is not the problem your machine is having this time.

If you turn your machine on and the carriage board doesn’t move at all then returns the cart error. Then you know it may be a problem with the DC motor.
But if it moves but doesn’t settle on the capping station before it shows the error. Then you know the DC Motor is at least fine. But like I said, unless you have a spare flex cable you may not be able to determine which part really is faulty.

This bring me to the salient advise in this post. To have peace with large format machines, always buy the parts for storage. because you may never know the day you'll need them. Now this is where we come in handy. we sell virtually all the parts of this machines and can sell them to you at fair enough price. so if you feel we have shown you value. you can support us by buying the parts from us.

CAR STALL POWER DOWN..!!!

You see like the blue screen of death BSOD on windows. One of the worst problems you can face is this particular one.

For starts, its linked to several problems. It can be a Sensor problem. A Cable problem, an actual paper jam. Encoder strip. And a whole host of other reasons that can make your printer stop moving. Or stall.

So in this article I cannot claim a one size fit all Messiah. But I can simply explain the error. Then you can reason it out yourself. What may be the cause.

WHAT DOES CAR STALL REALLY MEAN.

Now for shorts. A car stall is anything that hampers the mobility of your machine on the X axis. That is left to right. If your machine cannot move Left to right. Then its car stall.

So now let's think about all the reasons what I listed above can make your machine not move left to right.

STATION SENSOR
If its station sensor. It means the machine is lost in space. So it cannot tell where it is on the X-Axis. So the machine will shut down. STALL

PAPER JAM
If there is a paper jam. It means something is hooking the machine so it cannot move. STALL

ENCODER STRIP
If it's encoder strip. It means the sensor is working but the strip is dirty or bad so the sensor cannot read the X position correctly. So it will stop moving. STALL.

I'm sure you can get my drift.

A car stall is such a complex error that you cannot tell what in particular is causing it this time.

Mostly I'll advice we just come and check it for you. We sell all the parts of the machine. So when we come to your office. We'll come with all the parts. And after much troubleshooting we will check and replace the actual one that is wrong with your machine.

I hope what I have written above is enough to guide you should you decide to try a shot at the solution yourself.
