THE POWER OF DEADLINE.

It took a month and 11 days a total of 42 days to start and complete Amaoba Grinding Mill.

We planned it for 24 days which is 23rd of January to 16th of February which was my wife's birthday but it failed and entered into the month of March.

I was later told that building two in one mill from scratch normally takes up to 6 months or more.

But because I created a deadline, connected the launching to my wife's birthday and then mounted necessary pressure the work was done.

Unlike others that will drop their work, I visited my engineer more than 4 times.

Each visit was a strong reminder, when he couldn't meet up with the deadline, I emotionally blackmailed him accusing him of denying my wife a full joy in her birthday and that made him put in more effort to make it to us.

When you want to achieve anything faster, put a deadline and forget about the voice that tells you "What of if you don't meet the deadline?"

The fear of missing the deadline has a way of motivating action, leading to more efficient progress.

Without deadlines, tasks might linger indefinitely, but a set timeframe pushes you to act promptly.

Whenever you fix a deadline to a task you are applying Parkinson’s Law.

If you are planning to start a new business this year, make a list of the specific tasks that are involved in the process and fix a deadline for each task and watch the miracle happen.

Happy 5 Years Marriage Anniversary To Us.

We are not perfect and we don't want to be either. It is not our heart desire and it will never be.

What I love in people is honesty, my wife is a very honest person, she is genuine and always true to herself and this is exactly what I want nothing more nothing less.

We are honest about our weaknesses and limitations and we have been willing and happy in helping each other in the "not easy" process of become the best we desire to be.

For these 5 years we have watched ourselves become better really. We both have really improved in many ways and we are happy and grateful too.

There is no see finish, we both are new every morning.

I love my wife because she is naturally loveable everyone loves her too.

We face our fears with faith and we take our risks with knowledge, skills and courage.

We see our marriage as a privilege that many may not have so we value and cherish it.

Both the Engine and the Mill has been installed, the belt has also been fixed and properly aligned and for the next 4 days we will pouring water on it to properly set.

According to the contractor, everything about the work will be completed on Friday.

The fixing of the second mill and the exhust. Every aspect of this work is on the high side.

Just to build exhust and fix it is 25k. We have gone too far to give up.

We will start the machine for the first time on Friday to test the exhust and other things.

The official exchange rate of the naira went from N0.894 to $1 in 1985 to N2.02 to $1 in 1986, and N22 to $1 in 1994.

The devaluation was really gradual and progressive for these 38 years.

Till Tinubu came to power with Babangida kind of economic policy.

One the economic policy of Tinubu's Government apart from "Subsidy is gone" is "Allow allowed to float freely in the foreign exchange market"

Allow naira to float when everything we use and consume are all imported.

CBN has allowed naira to float resulting again in a very sharp and swift depreciation and devaluing of naira.

What is the positive impact of allowing naira to float freely in the foreign exchange market when we don't even produce what we eat let alone producing to export?

Do you know that in 1986 that naira was higher than dollar? Do you know that 1USD was equal to ₦0.67k.
At a time 1 dollar was less than 1 naira.

I was really surprised until the engineer told me that this mill as it is Nigerian Creativity and Innovation.

He said that I can Order for the Engine but the mill is locally made.

And they can build 1 funnel, 2 funnels, 3 funnels and even 4 funnels and each funnel can be dedicated to grinding similar stuff.

So I am going to hire a professional camera man for a proper shooting of this African Innovation and I am going to put it in the internet.

The reason it is not in Google images is because nobody has put it there.

Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and YouTube is hope for the hopeless.

"WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START GRINDING?" SHE ANXIOUSLY ASKED.

As I was going home yesterday from office under an ungodly heat of the sun 🌞 an elderly mother who was sitting close to an aged mother in her shop called on me to come...

So I turned back to answer her because I had passed her shop a bit.

"But we are definitely going to start by the month end because both the mill installation and the zink extension will surely be completed this week" I quickly added.

AMAOBA GRINDING MILL OPENING UPDATE.

Why I was not able to launch Amaoba Grinding Mill on my wife's birthday today.

A grinding mill comprises of town many parts, the heavy duty engine and the mill.

The difference between the engine and mill is that you can go and buy the engine any time and day but for the mill, it is not like that.

You have to describe the kind of Mill you want and they will build it for you.

By January 1, 2024 we had started implementing the plans to install the grinding mill project despite the cost.

On January 23rd I was in Aba with an experienced mill operator to buy the engine, we were able to buy the engine and every single accessories needed and it was brought to Amaoba directly from Aba in a chartered Sienna.

That same day I went back to Umuahia and paid the guy that was recommended to build the mill.

I asked him, "Can you finish building this thing and install by February 10 because I will be using as a birthday gift to my wife?

He said "YES" So we agree and I paid him.

As I am talking to you, the Grinding mill has not been completed though he had installed the engine for a long time.

According to him the Lister broke down and NEPA abi EEDC wasn't bringing light and you know that welders can't work with electricity.

So the work has to delay this way thereby incuring huge avoidable cost on me.

My joy was that I had finished buying the MAJOR things before the price of things started increasing apart from zink and wood for our shop extension and the buying of cereals to start the CEREAL MARKET.

As a matter of fact I doubt if I will be able to even start the CEREAL MARKET as planned, which is part of the cost of this delay.

I bought cement when it was ₦6,100, someone bought ₦11,500 a bag yesterday, some are selling ₦9,500 others sell ₦10,500 depending in your state and your location.

I missed buying Nigerian zink 26k before I was ready it is already 45k within one week.

In Nigeria now, Delay is expensive. If had delayed in executing this project immediately, frankly speaking I doubt if I could have been able to pull through.

Because 1.5m project could have become 3.5m project.

Prices of things are not just doubling, how do you explain a bag of cement moving from ₦5,500 to 11,500 in less than 3 week space.

This post is for me to update you on the change of opening date which will be communicated the building of the mill is completed.

MY SINGLE ADVICE FOR MARRIED MEN

This post is for my fellow married men who are in touch with their reality. I mean peace loving men like me who know the difference between "what it should be and what it is"

I don't mean those self deceiving men who always claim that their marriage is working perfectly with no issues while their wives have divorced them long ago and are currently asking for advice on how to formalize it without being harmed by their living husband.

Marriage issues or marital challenges are common to all marriages but the method which the man of the house has chosen to resolve issues when they arise is what makes the big difference between peaceful and happy homes and the "Nigeria-Biafra" marriages.

If you are currently having issues with your wife I have A SINGLE ADVICE for you, but before I do that,

First, I want you to know that I understand how painful and frustrating it could be when you are losing control of your home, feel disrespected like you are no longer in charge.

I also know that this frustrating situation often won't allow you to make the right decisions due to anger and negative energy family challenges can generate.

Not as if you don't want a solution but you don't know who to trust that will not use it to preach or even escalate the issues without providing any practical solution in addition to the prayers.

As a married man, learn to resolve your marriage issues yourself, if there is a need to seek help, be the one to do it. But you have already forced her to go to Google in search of a marriage counselor she could talk to, don't get mad, calm down and be solution oriented.

Hear what the marriage coach has to say, show willingness to resolve the issues because both of you deserve to be happy.

Don't confront your wife nor the marriage counselor, take the blame and most importantly, take responsibility.

Don't be like most men who feels like,

“My wife has no right to discuss our marriage issues with a stranger”

They might be right because that is how it should be, but in reality when you keep denying your wife her right to be heard by you, a time will surely come when she will do what is on her mind and deny you the right to know not to talk of getting your permission to seek for help that you can't provide.

One thing I know about married women is that they protect, defend and make a lot of excuses for their husbands misbehavior.

Married women endures a lot for so many reasons that I can even cover in this post but we all know some of those reasons why your mum endured your Dad despite all your Dad does to your mum.

Before you see a proper married woman cry out for help or seek for a marriage counselor, I can tell you that she has gotten to the saturation point in chemistry and her elastic limit in physics.

There may be a few exceptions but most women are like this, your wife prefers to report you to you not to anyone but because you don't listen, because you are not interested, because you don't feel her pain.

That is how you force her to seek help because if she keeps holding her peace she may give up the ghost.

So decides to go out of her way to seek help not minding that you will be mad.

So you as a married man, DON'T LET YOUR WIFE SEEK FOR HELP OUTSIDE simple means,

"Don't force her to go out of her way to seek for an external help that will have time to LISTEN to her and talk the talk that you have refused to LISTEN"

I promise you, 70% of your marriage issues will be gone if you as a man can explore the CONVERSATION WINDOW available to you to sit down with your wife on Saturday Night by 9pm after you have made the kids to sleep and just listen to your wife tell you those things that is killing her slowly that they tell me in the inbox after they have paid 15k Clarity Call.

Just imagine if you will forget whatever “unsubmissive” you have tagged your wife and the bad wife label you have labeled her,

Just imagine setting these aside, and just call your wife for a 9pm Saturday night meeting and have her paint the exact picture of the kind of marriage she dreams with you.

I tell you, you will like it. Most women don't really have a problem.
