DIRECTION 1.0

Inline with our passion to bridge Technology Gap, we collaborate with Association if Computer Engineering, University of Uyo to host 3-in-1 event tagged DIRECTION 1.P

DIRECTION 1.0 is a day event with series of activities towards providing HOLISTIC DIRECTION for exponential growth of young people in the Tech industry.

1. We collaborate with ACES UNIUYO to convene a stakeholders meeting between members of the organized private sector and the Academia, during the meeting, both parties discuss ways they can collaborate and synergies for the overall benefits of students

2. Shortly after the state holders meeting, we proceed into career counseling session for beginners in Tech, we began with a general session tagged AN HOUR WITH HANSON JOHNSON which feature a global Tech Icon Mr Hanson Johnson shared his life story of how he navigate the Technology Industry from his undergraduates year till date.

3. After that, was a one-on-one career counseling session with beginners in Tech, because of time factor, there was need to reconvene IT experts so that more students can have time with to interact

DIRECTION 1.0 is a CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION for students who are at their earlier journey in the technology industry, those studying ICT related courses and those studying non-tech courses with ambition to take up career in the tech industry.

IT experts, professionals, leaders of the industry are coming in from different area of specialties NOT TO SPEAK but TO LISTEN to students’ specific fear, uncertainty, confusion with the aim of providing HOLISTIC DIRECTION for exponential career growth in tech.

DIRECTION 1.0 is divided into two parts:
Part-1 is a general session tagged AN HOUR WITH HAHNSON JOHNSON. it will feature Mr. Hanson Johnson speak on the topic MY DAYS AS STUDENT; BALANCING ACADEMICS AND MY AMBITION IN TECH INDUSTRY
Mr. Hanson is a technical talents manager and the CEO of Start innovation Hub; an international ICT consultant and has consulted for the Government of UK, DAI etc, he is recognized annually as official guest at Silicon Valley by both Google and Facebook. He as trained and mentor thousands of technical talents and has supported the establishment of over 10 innovation hubs across Nigeria, Kenya, Madagascar and Ghana. He is a recipient of Productivity Order of Merit Award in ICT by the Government of Akwa Ibom State.
The Global Tech icon will provide career direction by sharing his life story on how he journeyed as undergraduate at Federal University of Technology Owerri to become a globally recognize IT expert.

Part 2 is a ONE-ON-ONE CAREER COUNSELLING SESSION:
Here each student will have private time to discuss their fears, confusion, uncertainties with experts for clarity while expert will listen and provide holistic direction for career growth. Experts are drown from different area of expertise such as blockchain, Artificial intelligence, Software engineering, Design, technopreneurship, Cyber security, networking

The event is organized by Tech Affairs Nigeria in collaboration with the Association of Computer Engineering Student ACES University of Uyo to commemorate 2023 departmental week celebration.

Transaction Details

Under the definitive agreement, Adobe has agreed to acquire Figma for approximately $20 billion, comprised of approximately half cash and half stock, subject to customary adjustments. Approximately 6 million additional restricted stock units will be granted to Figma’s CEO and employees that will vest over four years subsequent to closing. Adobe expects the cash consideration to be financed through cash on hand and, if necessary, a term loan. The transaction is expected to close in 2023, subject to the receipt of required regulatory clearances and approvals and the satisfaction of other closing conditions, including the approval of Figma’s stockholders.

Upon the closing of the transaction, Dylan Field, Figma’s co-founder and CEO, will continue to lead the Figma team, reporting to David Wadhwani, president of Adobe’s Digital Media business. Until the transaction closes, each company will continue to operate independently.
