*MIND YOUR TONGUE*

*I was in class that fateful Friday afternoon teaching my students when she raised her hand to ask a question.*
*I permitted her and she asked a rather too simple question that I supposed she should know the answer.*
*I had already covered that topic the previous week. "Will you sit down there! With your Ugly face! Olodo!" was the only answer I gave her.*
*The whole class bursted into laughter and she looked embarrassed.*
*I went on with my lesson but felt somewhat guilty over what I had said. I finished my class and left. On Sunday, I went to Church. The preacher was talking about the tongue and its power.*
*He spoke about how you could bring others down by what you say.*

*I remembered what happened on Friday and became guilty. I swore I was going to apologize to her on Monday when I got to the class.*

*On Monday afternoon, I went to the class but I didn't see her. I asked after her from her coursemates but they didn't seem to know who I was talking about.*

*I then said I was looking for the person I insulted on Friday.* *"Oh, that's Joy Sir!* *She is not in class today"* *they answered.*
*Who is her friend? I asked.* *"Aisha" they chorused.* *But Aisha was not in the class either.*

*Suddenly, a girl with Hijab walked in.* *"That's Aisha Sir" my students informed me.*
*Where is your friend? I asked her. "Which one?" She replied without looking at my face. Joy! I said.*

*The reply shocked me! She is in the mortuary Sir.* *Mortuary????? Doing what there?? I asked* *"She died on Friday Sir"* *Aisha replied.*

*How come?????? I later found out that after my class on Friday, Joy was hit by a fast moving vehicle.*
*She was crossing the road absentmindedly probably because of what I said.*
*"Her burial is on Saturday and you are invited Sir"* *Aisha continued.*

*As I stood trying to overcome the shock, Aisha said within tears, "you killed my friend Sir".*
*She was right! I should be the murderer!*
*Some girls in the class were already crying! I didn't know what to say, whether to apologize to Joy's friend or Joy's ghost.*
*I submitted my resignation letter the next day.*
*Dear Lecturers and Teachers, please stop insulting your student.*

*They are in school to learn from you. If they already know, they won't be in school!*
*Please mind what you say to other people. Are your words bringing life or death to the hearers?*

*WAKE UP PARENTS*

Years back, *poor illiterate parents* produced
🔹Doctors,
🔹Engineers,
🔹 Scientists,
🔹 Accountants,
🔹 Lawyers,
🔹 Architects,
🔹business people whom I will refer to as *Group 'A'*.

These *Group 'A'* Children struggled on their own after Primary to become notable personalities. Most of them
👉🏾trekked to school *barefooted*
👉🏾went to farms
👉🏾fetched water and firewood
👉🏾cared for domesticated animals
👉🏾did some work including trading after school to survive.

Now Group 'A' ,who have now become Parents themselves are *producing Group 'B' Children*
These group B children are
🔹pampered
🔹 helped in their homeworks or home assignments from nursery school through secondary schools to higher institutions.
🔹chauffeur driven to very expensive schools or are sent abroad to study.
🔹they can watch movies from morning till dawn after school.
🔹 they are treated like baby kings and queens.
🔹they don't do any household chores.
🔹Food is put on the table for them,
🔹their plates are removed and washed by parents or house maids.
🔹They are given expensive cars and clothes,
🔹not forgetting *big pocket money to be wasted* !!!.
🔹Their parents help them in doing their assignments.
� In spite of all these, only few can *speak* or *write* correctly. 😏

�Group 'A' Parents cared for their own *parents* and *children*, Group 'B',their Children are still *struggling to find their feet at age 30+*.‼
�They find it difficult to do things on their own because they are used to being helped to think and doing things by Group 'A'. So they can't help themselves, their parents or the society. THEY ABANDON THEIR PARENTS IN THEIR BID TO ACQUIRE THE WORLD

🏮Reduce the pampering and the unnecessary help you offer your children.
🏮 Let your children *grow in wisdom, intelligence and strength*.
🏮Let them face the truth and the realities of life. Teach them to grow to become *independent adults.* Teach them to

👉🏾develop confidence in themselves.

John was a very dull boy. His peers called him "Father of fools"

When he was in a Private school he got the following results:

Maths = 2%
English = 5%
Science = 0%
Social sciences = 1%

He was taken to a government school and got the following results;

Maths = 0%
English = 1%
Science = 0%
Social sciences = 0%

His parents were very disappointed but still decided to put him in a Christian school even though they were not Christians.
The First term John passed and was the first in the class .
Maths = 90%
English = 93%
Science = 95%
Social sciences = 89%

His parents could not believe it. They asked him how he managed to pass and he said;

*"when I saw a man nailed on the cross at every corner of the school building, I knew that these teachers don't joke with students here, they will nail me too if I fail''*

You see this parenting journey eh, I no be for the faint-hearted.😩

So yesterday morning, my madams woke up and decided to get ready for school at their pace.

I hurried them as much as I could but they sat comfortably as though it was a Saturday morning.

I told them, see, Thursday last week, you missed your school bus and I dropped you guys off. Friday, the same thing repeated itself. If you miss your bus today, I will not waste a drop of fuel to drop you guys off. Get up and hurry up.

Guess what? They missed their bus again on a Monday morning.

I told them to dress up and wait for their dad. He may be kind enough to drop you guys off. As for me, I go nowhere.

They went to beg daddy to please take them to school.

Daddy said, NO! Both of you will stay back home today to work in the house since you are not serious about school. I cannot pay for the school bus and be dropping you off as well.😅

Both were wailing and crying, pleading but we already made up our minds.☺

When I heard daddy say they would stay home, I was like, stay where? What happened to today's school fees? 😲

Oya, carry your bags. We'll be trekking today to school. Luckily, I won't be going to work.

They thought I was joking. 🤣

Their school is about 30 minutes walk from home.

We setoff and trekked. 😁

I was walking really fast that they had to jog to catch up with me. Eh, that's how students walk to school. We're not going to party and the time is not on our side. ☺

Gabby: Mummy, my leg hurts. 😥

Ama: Me too😒

Mummy: Me three 🤣

They kept begging me for us to enter Keke so they could pay with their money.🤣

I told them to show me the money but they had none there and then. They pleaded that I lend them the money, as a businesswoman that I am, we struck a deal that I will borrow them #100 to pay me back with 10% interest. ☺ 😋

Deal sealed and there was no Keke in sight so we resorted to bike. 😆

They didn't know we are 2 minutes to their school, so we got there before they could even enjoy the ride. 🤣

People of God, this morning, before I could say jack! they're set for school. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Who says strict parenting doesn't work?

I cannot come and kii myself o.

They have given me my #110. That's my #100 and #10 interest. ☺
