Ons knalgele terras is niet te missen, maar och, wat hebben wij ons terras toch een potje gemist de afgelopen weken. Gelukkig laat de zon zich de komende dagen van haar beste kant zien, dus wij ook!â Ons terras is open voor zowel lunch, als diner.

De plekken op ons terras zijn schaars, dus wacht niet te lang met je plek te claimen. Is het terras vol? Geen probleem! We hebben een heerlijke airco binnen waardoor het ook daar heerlijk te vertoeven is.â

We are in love with our custom-made cushions made from Vlisco. The Vlisco factory is located in the Netherlands, but mainly produces fabric with African designs. Totally SAAM proof!

Today we are celebrating Keti Koti, marking the end of slavery in Suriname and the Netherlands Antilles in 1873. "Keti Koti" means "Chains broken" in Sranantongo (Surinamese language). Unfortunately, slavery did not only exist in the Transatlantic, but also in South Africa. On the 1 January 1834 slavery came to an end in South-Africa. â
Apartheid was institutionalised from 1948 until 1990.â

Today we commemorate that every person, regardless of origin, has the right to a dignified existence. No human being is the property of another human being or country.â

Our lovely Roos. With tons of years of experience in this industry, we are so happy she has been part of SAAM's team for a while. No doesn't exist in her dictionary and she just keeps going. She is a favorite of a lot of you and we fully agree!

This weekend we are hosting a pop-up restaurant in the Amstelpark in Amsterdam during BITE of Amsterdam festival. You havenât found time to visit us yet? This is your chance!

This dish is as simple as its delicious if you asks us. We choose to serve our bread as a course on its own - not as a side. Just like they do in South Africa. We serve it from the start and for many of you one of the highlights of the menu.

We are very pleased head sommelier of Luvo Ntezo is joining SAAM restaurant this week for 2 days. Luvo is celebrated as the Best Young Sommelier in South Africa and acknowledged as a shining star in the global wine community.
Luvo has explored the world in the quest to find and experience great wine but his heart is firmly set on South African soil, with a deep love and passion for the stories around the Cape Wine Region, its winemakers and the farmers. He has a strong commitment to the upliftment of the wine community and is always looking out for emerging local talent. He has a particular passion for providing female winemakers a platform with which to showcase their talent.
We can't wait to have him over and be inspired by him, but also introduce Luvo to SAAM and all you!
