Last month Inbound Logistics asked our founder, Matthias Gutzmann, to come up with an inspirational leader, past or present, he would choose to lead a company through a logistics crisis. He decided on Pep Guardiola, the Spanish manager who has just guided Manchester City to the treble in England.

The tactical battle in the game of chess within the game of football is most intriguing. Guardiola is a man who thinks deeply about his every move. He's a man who tackles challenges head-on, while also keeping one eye on the future.

Who better then, to lead a company's procurement and organization during a time of crisis?

As an aside, we at DPW love this feature. It encourages companies to look beyond their own four walls and harness the expertise that exists outside of their own organization.

In 2019, Aiko Wiegand co-founded the ProcureTech company Matchory and developed a fully automated supplier search engine with his team. Matchory helps identifying fitting global suppliers in real-time.

Meet NEXT100 member Marc Philip Roos!

Philip is a current student at the University of Groningen with a degree in industrial engineering and management, soon to be followed by a master's in technology and operations management.

Philip also works as a procurement expert for battery active materials at PowerCo, Volkwagen’s battery group, contributing to supply chain resilience and sustainability, including high-tier suppliers, and is involved in the collaborative development of next-generation batteries.
