Visual identity of QNA is developed by Silver Joseph Bosch .
The Mikel Haman Award is annually awarded by Kwaku Festival and Survibes to people who are committed to the Surinamese and Caribbean LGBTQIA+ community. The award is named after Mikel Haman, Surinamese LGBT- and HIV-activist and founder of Survibes, who passed away in 2018.
Burobraak proudly created the posters, flyers, the report and the Award that was created in remembrance of Mikel F. Haman which reflects how Mikel turned his own personal struggle into empowering others to feel free, proud and healthy with their sexuality.

As an addition to the exhibition HEAR ME NOW we designed the ‘Mannenpaneel’ (Men’s panel) that is now part of the traveling exhibition. This panel is an additional story alongside the twelve stories of women that have found their voice and want to break the taboo surrounding the subject of sexual violence by sharing their experiences. The panel shows the portraits together with audio samples of interviews with eight men that take a stand against violence against women. You can still catch the exhibition until the 29th of September at the OBA Javaplein.
In the past few months the exhibition HEAR ME NOW has visited different Public Libraries in Amsterdam (). You can still catch the exhibition until the 29th of September at the OBA Javaplein.
HEAR ME NOW is an exhibition that tells the story of twelve women that have found their voice and want to break the taboo surrounding the subject of sexual violence by sharing their experiences. The women have each been portrayed and interviewed about why they decided to speak up and share their story.
For this project we created a logo system, visual identity, website, social media visuals, an outdoor advertising campaign that consists of A0 posters and an animated abri commercial, an A5 folder and other printed materials.
For the Oostcast exhibition ‘Verhalen rondom het Andreas Bonnplein.’ (Stories about the Andreas Bonnplein) we created two large billboards, posters, flyers, street tile stickers and postcards along with a webpage about the exhibition on the Oostcast website with interviews and illustrations by Hiro Kami / Frederick Calmes.
Oostcast is a community project that we started in our own neighbours to revive the well-known, and the unknown stories about Amsterdam Easts’ cheerful and troubled history and those who live(d) there. Oostcast’s latest open air exhibition can be found till the 28th of September on the Andreas Bonnplein in Amsterdam East (the square where Mauritskade en Andreas Bonnstraat meet, right next to the Burobraak studio)
The Andreas Bonnplein was once thé vibrant and buzzing gateway to Amsterdam East. Today, it is a bit of a forgotten square, despite it having been the stage for many beautiful and poignant stories. In order to transform the square into a place of connection in times of COVID-19, we made several of these stories visible and audible via QR-codes on ten paving stones on the square. Scan them with your smartphone and listen to fragments of the stories told, in Dutch, by the residents who were interviewed by local artist Frederick Calmes. The stories have been visualised by Hiro Kami / Frederick Calmes in ten works of art which are shared together with the recordings.

This year local Keti Koti Table Dialogue Communities are organising Dialogue Tables in various cities in The Netherlands.
Today on July 1st is Keti Koti in The Netherlands. On this day we commemorate and reflect on our shared history of slavery and its consequences.
To support workshops about how to organise local Keti Koti Tables throughout The Netherlands we updated the 'Wrokosani' created by , designed by Burobraak.
'Wrokosani' means tools or toolkit in Sranan Tongo (Surinamese). This toolkit holds the ‘Leribuku', ‘Seremonia', ‘Wortu’, a Table Runner of African print fabric, and some additional items needed for the Keti Koti Table rituals.

The page layout of the poems reflect the dynamic art-form of spoken word. About her thoughts behind this title she says ”Eventually you don’t want have regrets and think, if only I had done it.” ‘Doe Het Toch Maar’ (Do It Anyway) truly speaks to our heart.
