Currently our Space Encounters team is designing on the transformation of this former Akzo Nobel factory in Arnhem. This 17.000 m2 public interior will soon house a school, a cultural venue, a coffeehouse, workshop spaces and shared offices.

Our fantastic client Schipper Bosch is developing IPKW into a clean tech campus where innovation, sustainability and entrepreneurship flourish. This place was, still is and will always be about the future. Happy to be part of it!

Slijper and Gieter are nearing completion on Oostenburg, Amsterdam.

The crisp housing blocks, left in white tiles with blue grouting and right in faded green clamp the access volume draped in a veil of chainmail mesh. The generous collective spaces give a great sense of community.

Habitat 67, Montreal. Architectenweb excursion is still a blast. 💥

In the 1960s, there was no shortage of young visionaries with revolutionary architectural schemes. The difference between Moshe Safdie, 29 years old, and almost everyone else was that his undergraduate thesis at McGill University in Montreal, which called for a radical hybrid of the suburban single-family home and the urban apartment building, actually got built. His plan involved stacking prefabricated concrete modules in dense, irregular geometric piles; he was thinking Italian hill town, but the end result more closely resembled the Taos Pueblo. Safdie’s Habitat 67 was one of the highlights of Expo ’67 in Montreal, which itself was a showcase of that era at its most utopian. The U.S. pavilion, for instance, was a 20-story-tall geodesic dome by Buckminster Fuller.

The Doors is a modest residential project in the heart of the urban redevelopment Buiksloterham in the northern part of Amsterdam. The masterplan recently won the SKG Award 2022, for most sustainable and circular development.

The Doors is currently under construction. The subtle articulations of plinth, mid and cornice combined with modern materiality and abstract detailing define this vernacular building.

The transformation and reinterpretation of AB House in Broek op Langedijk is nearing completion.

The original ground floor has been hooded with an new aluminum gable roof, constructed on a black steel frame.

Thanks to everybody involved for dedication and consistency.

Humbled and extremely happy with this win. We got the opportunity to build this Dolmen holiday home in the Veluwe nature. Together with our Space Encounters family. One Love. ❤️
