Do these brown paper bags scream sustainability to you? Because in addition to being transported in only the most carbon neutral of ways, they will be filled with (rather nice tasting) food that is responsible in the sense that it’s future-proof. Why? Well, if there’s anything this pandemic has laid bare, it’s that the food industry needs some serious changing. And contrary to popular belief, this doesn’t have to cost us. Or our taste buds. Like, at all. Our current concept proves that. It’s innovative, sustainable and just better overall. It predominantly consists of plant-based ingredients that come from local soil, which in itself is quite remarkable as many Dutch products are exported only. Don’t ask us why (because seriously: why?), but it is one of the main reasons we started experimenting with smoking, brining and just making everything from scratch in the first place. Store-bought products don’t make us quite as excited (read: ecstatic) as making something from locally grown ingredients with our bare hands, and then we haven’t even started talking about the health benefits or improved focus — let alone the fact that we wake up every morning feeling genuinely excited for what we will both eat and make throughout the day. Don’t worry, though, we won’t add any further details about our herby flatbread with white bean hummus, pavé with plant-based paté or organic rooster sandwich with liver creme that could very well be delivered to your office on a daily basis. In fact, we’ll just leave you with this picture of what these super amazing lunch options will travel in, instead.

Anyone else feeling particularly hot these days? We promise this broth can help in that department. It is cool as a cucumber, which is unsurprising since it is filled with … cucumber. That, and some other decent stuff like peas, radishes, kohlrabi, apple and a whole bunch of ingredients our copywriter had quite a lot of difficulty understanding. Many question marks, head scruffs, and google searches later, that particular copywriter learned something new, and made that the topic of what would otherwise be just another boring instagram post, so in theory that which inspired that particular copywriter to research and write about what you are now somehow still reading is the living proof of our business motto — that better food leads to better business, or, well, more brain activity at the very least. Don’t worry if you’re confused by that last statement, we’re kind of hoping the cool-as-a-cucumber part of this post managed to catch your attention way before we started talking about brain activity and business mottos and ingredients and cucumbers and other stuff since, umh, yeah, you can now order this chilled broth on our website (link in bio) and all.

Did you know that there are several legends attached to the invention of these madeleines? All of them revolve around a female character who is said to have been a servant of an important character in the history of a French town called Lorraine, even though there is no consensus over that person, its last name, or the identity of the famous person she supposedly served. So yeah, when you order your office lunch, you can add some madeleines to the mix and tell your colleagues all about that.

It’s Friday today. We’re not writing that because we’re summing up things you already know, but because that whole end of the week buzz always seems to tempt people to order something extra nice for lunch. And though this is where we should probably reference our infamous pastrami sandwich, we’ll be switching things up by talking about our new sandwich with plant-based paté instead. This might make you scroll down, thinking “gosh, why do they always turn authentic animal products into vegetarian or vegan ones?” as if people who make plant-based alternatives have no creativity of their own, but let us tell you: it takes a lot of creativity to make a plant-based version of something like paté. A good one, at least. Or so that’s what we continuously overhear our head-chef say. We’re pretty sure he just needed an excuse to create something that would stop our store manager from saying that “we all have our guilty pleasures in life” since it’s honestly gotten quite old and it is possible to create something that’s a little more friendly to our planet yet most pleasant to the taste buds. This paté proves that. It’s made of beans and nuts, plus topped with pulled mushrooms and beets on a sandwich that only can make. Anybody else notice cauliflower has finally gotten the recognition it deserves? It somehow managed to become the go-to for veggie steak, rice, hot wings, cheese, and so on and so forth. Not that we’re complaining — we love a good veggie that’s left in its original glory, yet spiced up. Besides, we appreciate an ingredient that can do or turn into pretty much anything. Come to think of it, cauliflower really is what we started out as being: everything for everybody. That’s a weird statement for a social media post, but it tells you something about the conversations we’ve been having behind the scenes, and the changes we are making to our catering business to amplify sustainability without having to sacrifice taste. In a nutshell, our ambition is to offer artisanal food for responsible people who care about the planet too. Which brings us to the topic of veganism and vegetarianism and transport and locally grown foods and import and export and a whole lot of other things that we cannot possibly all put in this caption without it turning into a novel, so just keep an eye out on what’s to come and know that we’re looking forward to telling you more about it all. For now, let’s return to what this caption was supposed to say, which is: this is our new cauliflower salad with roasted hazelnuts, piccalilli, mustard leaf, and beurre noisette. So, we lost. That is a weird way to start a social media post. Especially since this post isn’t about the Dutch team losing at all. No, today is the day we shift gears and tell you about the French football team playing a match against Switzerland, as this gives us a rather perfect excuse to post about this French tartelette that you can order today, and tomorrow, and every other day of the week (and month and year). It is made with elderflower and red fruit and lemon cress and Italian meringue so technically we could have also posted this on Friday — when Italy plays against Belgium in the quarter finals — but, oh well, it’s Monday now. Treat your team by adding these French pastries to your office lunch (link in bio) and hype them up about the day after the Dutch team lost, when we shifted gears, and focused on other countries in the UEFA cup. See? Technically not about the Dutch team losing at all.
