Hoe werk je de rand van je geknoopte smyrna project af?

1. Leg je werk plat op tafel en druk de draadjes met je vingers omhoog. Knip lange draadjes die erg uitsteken boven de rest af.

2. Draai je werk om. Bevestig - aan de achterzijde - naaigaren aan 1 van de hoeken van je canvas.
🧶
3. Vouw de hoek in een driehoekje en zet deze met een steekje vast aan de achterkant van je canvas
🧶
4. Vouw nu de randen zodanig dat je twee uitgelijnde driehoekjes krijgt in de hoek en naai dit vast met een paar steken.
🧶
5. Maak zo alle hoeken van je canvas. Vouw nu de zijranden om en naai dit vast aan de achterkant van je canvas. Naai niet door de geknoopte garens, maar enkel door het canvas.

6. Ga door totdat je alle randen van je werkt hebt vastgezet. Je kunt je project nu ophangen of er een kussen of tapijt van maken.

Koninklijk borduren

Koningin Máxima houdt van borduren! Ze borduurde deze kussens tijdens haar zwangerschap van Amalia. Toen wist ze nog niet of het een jongen of meisje zou worden.

Toen de historische gordijnen uit paleis Huis ten Bosch te fragiel werden werd het TextielMuseum gevraagd om een project op te zetten en nieuwe te maken.
🪡 👑
Kunstenaar Liesbeth Stinissen ontwierp de nieuwe gordijnen. Grote delen werden in het TextielLab van het museum met de machine geborduurd.

Borduurgroepen uit het hele land borduurden elementen van het gordijn met de hand. Koningin Máxima borduurde mee.

De historische en nieuwe gordijnen zijn tot 29 mei te zien ik het in Tilburg.

Wij waren vereerd om de borduurpakketten te ontwerpen voor de museumwinkel. Ze zijn geïnspireerd op de historische gordijnen.

De pakketten bevatten stap voor stap instructies voor beginners en bevatten o.a. ecologische borduurstof.

Inspired by a trip to Ameland last Christmas, this cutie will add instant summer vibes to your (holiday) home.
🌊 we also took these beautiful ceramic cups home as souvenir. We found them at . It’s almost half a year ago, and everyday since we’re enjoying the cups in yellow, red and shades of blue.

In May we added this happy giraffe to our animal cross stitch collection.
