Ever heard of the bullwhip effect?

Black Friday is right around the corner. Every year millions of people wait for the big discount day to buy Christmas gifts and more.

Events like this can create a problematic logistical phenomenon: the bullwhip effect. The bullwhip effect is caused by misjudgment of demand in a multi-staged supply chain. This happens due to a lack of transparency at the individual levels and poor communication. The actors within a supply chain oftentimes don't pay attention to the end customer's demand, but rather rely on information from the previous link in the supply chain.

As a result, more products are manufactured than necessary, which then are not consumed. As you can see, those miscalculations follow the typical movements of a bullwhip!

Last Thursday, we hosted a Carrier Event to introduce our newly developed carrier platform. Over 40 carriers and some of our local logistics media joined the event.

We kicked the event off with one of our guest speakers Bart Banning who talked about how innovation will determine the future. Also, people heard more about how the journey of Quicargo began and what the future will bring. Interesting topics were discussed during the round tables and the day ended with a nice dinner and a drink!

Of course, no one left empty-handed. All our partner carriers received a Quicargo goody bag with some nice extra gifts from our customers JetDrinks, The Good Roll and PCO! 🎁
