We are pleased to announce the 6th edition of Eindhoven Cricket League (ECL) - T10 outdoor hard tennis ball tournament.

Match summary:
ECC2 vs Qui Vive Cricket Club 3

This weekend, our champion team from last year played their first match in Overgangsklasse against Qui Vive Cricket Club 3.
Visitors won the toss and asked us to bat first. We lost both our openers without scoring.
Skipper Pradeep (0 of 1) knicked the very first ball while Robhit Saxena (0 of 5) was out trying to pull. We kept losing wickets one after the other and in no time we were 38/6. Although visitors were rejoicing their success we knew we bat deep and any one can chip in to contribute with the bat. Praneeth played an unforgettable innings of 62 of 76 with 5 sixes and 3 fours, he ensured anything that's in his arc was out of the park :).
Given the circumstances Prasoon Garg special innings of unbeaten 57 of 84 is worth in gold. These two guys kept the score board ticking while ensuring that we don't loose any more wickets. With the help of this crucial partnership of 108, we were able to put a decent score of 176 with loss of 9 wickets.

Now it was time to defend our well fought 176. Visitors started cautiously and took their chances. With 33 on the board without loss, they were upto a good start. Skipper Pradeep showed his incredible presence of mind, moved the first slip to square leg
and Amit hit the deck hard, batter Arora had no other way but to defend this rising delivery on his rip cage ended up getting caught on square leg.
We knew these little moments in the match can be game changer. Amit (7-2-36-3) later removed Damodaran and Jiwa, Prasoon (8-2-16-1) with his inswinging yorker cleaned up Narayanan. We had a near perfect start with new ball taking 4 wickets with only 40 on the board. In middle overs everyone chipped in and didn't let the opposition settle. Kishan (5.3-0-13-2), Saurabh (8-1-36-2) and Pradeep (7-0-19-2) didn't let visitors go beyond 122.
Incredible display of team spirit, grit and determination. Action-packed day for the sport we all love.

Oh yes yet again! Umair our captain won the toss and decided to bat first.

Mohseen and Kamlesh started the proceeding for us. We had a decent start with 30 on the board at end of 6th over. To be honest with these guys on the crease run rate is never an issue. However partnership didn't last very long and Rajagopal stuck first blow with a flighted delivery outside off which tempted Kamlesh (20 of 33) to go over mid off but he didn’t manage to clear it up. We lost a couple of wickets in short interval Abhishek (0 of 2) and Mohseen (22 of 24). After valuable contributions from Amitoz (29 of 31) and Soumya (22 0f 18) wickets kept falling like pack of cards. Only Asim made it to double figures (17 of 32) and we were bowled out for a modest score of 143.

What we have often seen so far this season our bowler came to rescue again. Yet again Asim(9.1-2-51-4) produced the first break through, this time on the very first ball. Pitched on middle and off just manage to sneak between bat and pad, hitting the timber. Prasoon (5-1-33-2) playing his very first match started with a maiden wicket and later removed dangerous Ganesh. Concordia did put up a fight but fiery spell of Asim was just too good for their batters. Patel, Mahalingam and Kala all became the victims of Asim. Soumya (3-0-3-1) took the crucial wicket of Rajagopal. Sudipt’s (8-2-12-2) disciplined left-arm orthodox was too tough
for the tail.

A great contest of bat and ball with a nail biting finish. A great show of team spirit and never say die attitude.
While we enjoy this win, we will also retrospect and improve as a batting unit. See you next week!

The event was held at our cricket ground with members getting a chance to interact with each other and with our sponsor. The event was followed by an internal cricket match.
