Teaming up with the talented minds at Team Starcraft e.V. from Technische Universität Ilmenau, a student team on a mission to build cutting-edge racing cars for Formula Student, we embarked on a journey to craft the inverter of tomorrow. 🏎️💨

Our in-depth workshop focused on:
1️⃣ 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀: We brainstormed, collaborated, and delved into creative solutions, addressing the ever-evolving demands of the inverter industry.

We celebrate Team T.E.S.T. and their award for most innovative point-of-care biosensor

At Neways, we are thrilled to have been a part of T.E.S.T.'s, TEST - TU/e Sensing Team, incredible journey towards the SensUs Student Competition. We are proud to share that they secured the first place for the Creativity Award, and we couldn't be happier for them! 🏆
One of the standout aspects of their success was the creation of their very own miniature microscope, a testament to their creativity and innovation. This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable support from our team at Neways.

Our experts worked closely with the T.E.S.T. 2023 team, providing crucial guidance on electrical specifications, stepper motor operation, alignment, and cooling of the laser – all essential components for obtaining the necessary images. Beyond technical assistance, our team shared in their enthusiasm for building a biosensor, making this collaboration even more special.

We are rapidly advancing sustainability and circularity with our partners in Semicon Solutions

At Neways, we have been working hard this year to elevate our sustainability and circularity efforts. Thanks to a closer collaboration with ASML, we're making significant strides in reducing and preventing scrap during production and the lifecycle of our products.

♻️Our latest efforts? Piloting initiatives to recollect and repurchase materials from ASML, to subsequently upgrade, requalify as new, and apply in new builds. In our most recent pilot, we succeeded in reusing as much as 90% of the materials, up from the previous 40%! Supported by the Circular innovation program of ImpactX, we've taken the first steps towards a similar model for circular production with VDL Enabling Technologies Group Eindhoven B.V.. We were honored to present these achievements recently to a consortium consisting of SIMS, VDL ETG, HQPACK, and ASML.

🔁 Our solutions range from using harvested and repaired parts in new supplies to ASML and other customers, to applying a specific 'Harvesting and Repair Flow' to third parties. Thanks to a mutual commitment with VDL, we've also made a considerable step towards the harvesting and reuse of cabinets. Aside from the significant decrease in scrap, significant spirit-boosting benefits are noticeable among our repair operators and logistical teams. Simplicity, the reluctance to throw something away, and the thought: "we could always use that," are paramount.

🌍 At Neways, we're proud of these steps towards a circular economy. We have a collective responsibility to embrace circularity and actively participate in its implementation. 💡 Polarion is currently being used in most of our development projects. It establishes a structured and unified Way of Working across Neways, resulting in quicker project starts and unified knowledge base amongst engineering colleagues. We've developed our very own Neways Project Template for Polarion. This template will help us define, build, test and manage complex software systems for product lifecycle management.

🎯 The ASPICE Improvement Project addresses Project Management, Software Developers, Quality Assurance, and Configuration Management experts. It is is dedicated to elevating our processes to meet ASPICE standards for software development processes. We are strengthen Quality Assurance and embed it into our workflows and project steps..

These two topics lead to a more uniform way of working with quality improvement loops. By looking at integral process approach from design development to industrialization to production.

🌱 Last week, Team TU/ecomotive presented Eterna, a groundbreaking proof-of-concept car challenging existing assumptions about sustainability in the automotive sector. It does so by reimagining a car’s useful lifecycle through modularity and reuse: With an EV’s drivetrain being simpler and less prone to conventional wear, it makes sense to break down our conception of a car into different systems, each with different lifecycles. While we may we want to update upholstery and infotainment systems with some frequency – we can confidently rely on motors and batteries far longer without significant hardware updates required. Eterna splits these lifecycles in its design – with shorter lifecycles modularly on top: they can be replaced without replacing the whole car.

💡 Neways is main sponsor of Eterna both in ex*****on and in spirit. We contribute to the vehicle by supporting the design where needed. In addition, we consistently match their pioneering efforts in sustainability.
