Another super solid weekend for our off-road guys!
was able to spend a lot of his day out front, finishing 4th is his class.
Merry Brothers , and were also able to put together solid performances in dusty conditions. Ruan finishing 7th, and Erik 8th in their classes!
Consistent hours of hard work are paying off. There’s still room for improvement and that is what excites us most!

Consistency is the key to progression.
has stuck to his plan and logged consistent hours on the bike for a short few months. In this time he has made tremendous gains, most notably being an increased FTP from 210w to a respectable 302w and growing. (FTP - Your functional threshold power that you can sustain for approximately 1hr as a max effort)
Also, taking a look in the 2nd and 3rd pic, we compare his first hard effort up his famous local climb (Griffith park) and then his most recent effort showing a 112w increase at basically the same Heart Rate!!!
His growth is something worth celebrating and we can’t wait to see how he continues to improve and get stronger.

From an FTP of 227w (20 minute maximal effort) just 3 months ago, to holding a higher 230w for almost 3hrs!! We’re sure you’re just as impressed by these gains as we are. 💪🏼
With Emperors Palace Classic Road Race being a first road race for , we could not be more impressed or any prouder of his incredible effort.
Lots of hard hours have been logged, but they are already proving to be paying off. With a clear strong diesel engine, we can’t wait to see where he can get to and how he performs in some longer races in the near future!

A result worth celebrating! We are so proud of ’s effort at her recent half marathon, finishing 21km in just 2hrs!
She has her eyes set on big goals this year so this was a great way to start off her racing season and continue to build towards her key events.
She too has a very busy schedule, but uses her structured plan to fit in her training and get the optimum results out of the time she has.

Just 3 short months ago Jenna Love joined the Purely Watts Coaching runners program with the hopes of finishing a half-marathon in the near future.
After all her hard work, she has managed to get to the point of not just completing a half-marathon, but comfortably doing it with a very respectable time. Her finishing pace equivalent of her 5km PB when she first started with us (5:30min/km), a short while ago.
In this short time she has also improved her 5KM PB from 27:30 down to an impressive 25:03.
We are extremely proud of her effort and tremendous improvement. This is just the start and we cant wait to see what she achieves next!

Without access to testing and coaching, here is a simple, but effective way of evaluating your zone 2 pace.
For your zone 2 runs, it’s easy to feel like you’re not doing enough and end up running too fast. It’s important to remember that these runs should be done at a pace where a conversation is sustainable and it’s easy to talk. If you can’t talk, you’re going too fast!
