Dit weekend is het Ketelhuisplein toneel van het gratis toegankelijke stadsfestival Hit the City. We zijn uiteraard open voor lunch, borrel, diner of een cocktailtje, en serveren alles zoals je dat gewend bent. In glas zoals het hoort. Bovendien steken we de barbecue aan voor een snelle bite. Dus strijk neer op ons terras, waar je kunt genieten live muziek en uitzicht op de beide podia. We zien je graag verschijnen.

Zaterdag 10 augustus komt het Ray Stepien Trio terug naar het Ketelhuisplein om net als op de eerste editie van Schuim en As te laten horen hoe het moet. Het Ray Stepien Trio is een vurige Eindhovense bluesband. De band werd winnaar van de Texelblues Challenge en finalist bij de Dutch Blues Challenge. Het gitaarspel van frontman Ray Stepien wordt vergeleken met dat van grootheden als Jimi Hendrix en Stevie Ray Vaughan, maar je hoort ook invloeden van bluesmannen als Joe Bonamassa en Johnny Winter. Naast covers van deze artiesten speelt de band ook eigen nummers die goed in de smaak vallen. Bij ieder optreden gaan de heren uit hun dak en nemen jou daarin mee.

Saturday, August 10th, the Ray Stepien Trio returns to Ketelhuisplein to show how it’s done, just like at the first edition of Schuim en As. The Ray Stepien Trio is a fiery blues band from Eindhoven. The band won the Texelblues Challenge and was a finalist in the Dutch Blues Challenge. Frontman Ray Stepien's guitar playing is compared to legends like Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but you can also hear influences from bluesmen like Joe Bonamassa and Johnny Winter. In addition to covers of these artists, the band also plays original songs that are well-received. At every performance, these guys go all out and bring you along for the ride.

Morgenmiddag van 14:00 tot 17:00 staat het voltallige blaasorkest op het Ketelhuisplein, Strijp S. Ketelhuis en Biergarten presenteren deze zondag namelijk een concert van het ZomerOrkest Nederland!
ZON heeft als doel om blaasmuziek in Nederland te promoten. Ze laten het traditionele uniform thuis en reizen door heel het land deze zomer.

ZON heeft als doel de blaasmuziek in Nederland te promoten in een informele setting in de open lucht. Alles komt aan bod, van originele werken voor symfonisch blaasorkest tot klassieke werken, pop, jazz en filmmuziek. ZON geeft elk jaar zo veel mogelijk jonge muzikanten de kans om in een goed en gemotiveerd orkest te kunnen spelen. Om dit te bereiken wordt ZON elk jaar opnieuw samengesteld uit amateurs en conservatoriumstudenten van 16 tot en met 23 jaar, uit heel Nederland.

ZON aims to promote wind music in the Netherlands, organizing concerts in an informal open-air setting. Their performances feature a wide range of modern wind music, including original works for symphonic wind orchestra, classical pieces, pop, jazz, and film music.
In addition to their musical goals, ZON also strives to make a social impact, with their Social Concert being a key part of the tour. ZON gives young musicians aged 16 to 23 the opportunity to play in a well-motivated orchestra, composed annually of amateurs and conservatory students from across the country.

Op zondag 28 juli speelt ZomerOrkest Nederland (kortweg ZON) op het Ketelhuisplein op Strijp S.
ZON heeft als doel de blaasmuziek in Nederland te promoten. De concerten van ZON worden georganiseerd in een informele setting in de open lucht. Alle aspecten van de moderne blaasmuziek komen bij de concerten van ZON aan bod, van originele werken voor symfonisch blaasorkest tot klassieke werken. Ook pop, jazz en filmmuziek passeren de r***e. ZON vindt het belangrijk om naast onze doelstelling in de blaasmuziek ook maatschappelijk iets toe te voegen. Daarom is het Sociaal Concert ook een niet te missen onderdeel van de tournee. ZON geeft elk jaar zo veel mogelijk jonge muzikanten de kans om in een goed en gemotiveerd orkest te kunnen spelen. Om dit te bereiken wordt ZON elk jaar opnieuw samengesteld uit amateurs en conservatoriumstudenten van 16 tot en met 23 jaar, uit heel Nederland. De muzikanten studeren in korte tijd een uitdagend programma in, onder leiding van twee jonge, enthousiaste dirigenten. Dit jaar staat het orkest onder leiding van Rodin Rosendahl & Twan Cox.
Ieder jaar verstrekt ZON een compositieopdracht aan een jonge, getalenteerde componist. Dit jaar schreef Dennis Hazenoot het stuk Across the Heliosphere. Dit toongedicht voor harmonieorkest is geïnspireerd door zonneverschijnselen zoals zonnevlammen, plasmawolken, magnetische stormen en de effecten van deze verschijnselen op de aarde. Effecten die zowel ontwrichtend als betoverend zijn.
Ook gaat er elk jaar een solist mee op tournee. De solist van dit jaar is de 18-jarige klarinetist Ruud Somers. Ruud zal Mjdens de tournee het stuk Odessa Bulgar spelen. Een verzameling van diverse traditionele klezmer composities, waarvan een bewerking voor harmonieorkest speciaal voor ZON is gemaakt door Erik Somers.
ZON is een vernieuwende organisatie die altijd bezig is om jonge mensen enthousiast te maken voor blaasmuziek.

Vandaag op het Ketelhuisplein latin dance festival Alegria. We serveren vandaag Louisiana style crawfish, dus wees er op tijd bij!

Vandaag en morgen tijdens het gratis Alegria Latin Dance Festival serveren we buiten op het terras kipvleugeltjes van de barbecue. Op zondag trakteren onze koks je bovendien op Louisiana-style crawfish, oftewel mudbugs, met mosselen, aardappelen, maïs en citroen.
Vandaag om 17:00, 18:45 en 20:30 speelt de fantastische live band Scream op ons terras. Zondag om 17:30 en 20:30 kun je genieten van live reggae met Strawl & the Stage Rebels.
Dus trek je dansschoenen aan! We zien je graag verschijnen op het Ketelhuisplein!

Today and tomorrow during the free Alegria Latin Dance Festival, we will be serving BBQ chicken wings on the terrace. Additionally, on Sunday, our chefs will treat you to Louisiana-style crawfish, also known as mudbugs, with mussels, potatoes, corn, and lemon.

Today at 17:00, 18:45, and 20:30, the fantastic live band Scream will be performing on our terrace. On Sunday at 17:30 and 20:30, you can enjoy live reggae with Strawl & the Stage Rebels.

Het is echt weer voor een uitgebreid driegangenmenu, met een lekker cocktailtje om het af te maken. We zien je graag verschijnen!

Vandaag gaan we er weer voor! Op het Ketelhuisplein hebben we een giga groot scherm neergezet voor wat nu al een legendarische wedstrijd belooft te worden tussen Engeland en Oranje. Kom van tevoren lekker iets eten en drinken. Het springkussen staat er weer voor de kids. We zijn van 's middags tot laat open.

Come by early to grab some food and drinks. The bouncy castle is ready for the kids. We're open from the afternoon until late.

Vandaag hebben we speciaal voor jullie allemaal ons nieuwe bier Maisel's Weisse Original op de tap.
De grill staat bovendien aan voor een sappig burgertje (vlees of vega) en de bitterballen en nacho's ontbreken natuurlijk ook niet.
We hebben het scherm buiten op ons hoge terras staan dus wel buiten maar toch droog.

Van de site van Bierista: Maisel's Weisse Original is een Duitse Weizen. Vol met smaken van lekker fris biertje met smaken van onder andere kruidnagel, vanille en limoen. Aroma's van banaan, citrus en ook wat kruidigheid. Een romig mondgevoel en een korte frisse, kruidige afdronk. Dit bier is gebrouwen volgens het Reinheitsgebot.

Dit weekend het gratis toegankelijke Jams and Gems festival op het Ketelhuisplein, met zaterdag de afterparty in het Ketelhuis restaurant beneden.
