What an awesome night we had last Wednesday at Toastmasters Groningen! The energy in the room was incredible, and everyone left feeling inspired and motivated!

A huge shoutout to Sri for doing a wonderful job as the Toastmaster of the Evening. Here’s a recap of the highlights:

Sebastian broke the ice with a fantastic icebreaker speech, introducing himself to the club with style. His confidence and storytelling set the tone for the evening.

Elske captivated us with an insightful talk about Denis Diderot, enriching our knowledge and sparking great conversations.

Rudy led the table topics in a new and engaging way, making us conscious of our non-verbal communication, vocal variety, and expression of emotions. It was a fun and enlightening experience that challenged us to improve our impromptu speaking skills.

Our 11th club meeting yesterday was a phenomenal success! We had an incredible evening filled with inspiring speeches, thoughtful evaluations, and a lot of fun.

Members of our club participated in the Area G1 contest in Zwolle.

Our superstars Elske de Vries and Geert Baven won prizes. 😎

Geert came second in the Dutch speech contest, while Elske won the Dutch contest and came second in the English speech contest. 🥇 🥈 🥈

We are very proud to have such speakers in our club. 👏
Both of them will advance to the Division Contest in March, we wish them all the best for their preparation.

Last Wednesday was filled with excitement!

Two great speeches were held where our members Adi and Son charmed the audience with incredible stories and unexpected improv skills!

Next up was the educational held by one of our most experienced members, Grace! We had the opportunity to listen and learn about mentorship. What is it? Why it is useful, and how to do it properly!

The night was wrapped up with a Tabletopics session where we got to hear guests speak for the first time in the Toastmasters setting. Upon finishing, we had the chance to get to know them better, at the Het Floreshuis bar!

Our next meeting will be even more exciting! On the 20th of December our club speech contest will take place! Which of our enthusiastic members will win?!

We can’t wait to see you there!

▫️Tonight’s evening was sprinkled with … *crack* … *crack* … 🧊 Icebreakers! FOUR of our members, Richard, Lisa, Malcolm and Geert, took the initiative and started their public speaking journey, with their first ever speech on our stage!

▫️On top of that, everybody’s favorite holiday, Christmas, is getting closer with every meeting, so what better way to get in the mood, than a festive Table Topics session 🎄

New Toastmasters Year, New Location!

From the 6th of September Toastmasters Groningen will have its meetings at a new location. We will gather at "het Floreshuis" in room 0.05. At this new location we do have more space for our meetings and even better facilities.

This means that we will be meeting on line via Zoom tonight.

You don't need to install any extra software to join or even host a Zoom meeting. You can do it all through a web browser.

Click on the meeting invite URL that the host shared via email or text.

A new tab will open on your preferred web browser. If you don't have the Zoom desktop app installed, the page will urge you to download the app.

Ignore that and skip down to the small print: "If you cannot download or run the application, join from your browser."

Click the highlighted text in "join from your browser".

If you are joining Zoom meeting on mobile (iPhone, Android) then the procedure Download the Zoom app for iOS or for Android on Google Play, and set it up using your contact information — which the host can use to "call" you. Then, either
