So supposedly there was this contest on Reddit, which also picked up on for the best burger place in Groningen. Which basically was a popularity contest from the get go we knew we’re not going to win. But seeing flaunting their victory, while pulling out of a burger cook-off 3 years ago because they were too scared don’t fly with us.

So once again, plain challenge: let do a burger cook-off . Blind tasting participants. You know the deal. As we already know you’re going to dodge this bullet. But if you do decide to grow a pair this time, you know where to find us. We want all the smoke and all the beef!

Smoke’s Music Pub Quiz

Muziek- en feestliefhebbers opgelet. Na de eerste succesvolle Music Pubquiz is het tijd voor een vervolg. Vanaf februari zal deze heugelijke quiz maandelijks plaatsvinden op de 1ste vrijdag van de maand. Op 2 februari v.a. 21:30 uur tot ca. 0:30 uur bieden wij een podium voor een pubquiz die in het teken staat van muziek. Blues, funk, soul, house, jazz, pop, hip-hop, house, techno, rock, drum n bass, disco, 50’s tot nu en misschien ook ervoor, het kan allemaal langskomen.

Het wordt een dynamische quiz met o.a. live-muziek, DJ’s, opdrachten, dansen, feesten en borrelen.

Aanmelden kan via [email protected]. Meld daarin je groepsnaam, of je van tevoren wilt komen eten en het aantal personen waarmee je komt (min.3, max. 6).

Braised brisket and shortrib in a seasoning of a.o. Pasilla/ancho/guajillo/chipotle chillies. On fried corn taco’s with cheese and served with the amazing braised liquid to dip. Absolutely 10/10.

- Smoked turkey legs, brined for 24 hours, seasoned and smoked for 4 hours. Why legs? Because at Smoke we don’t like dry breast meat, so we will only serve you the best part.

- Mashed potatoes with truffle & mustard

Muziek en feestliefhebbers opgelet. Smoke komt na 3,5 jaar afwezigheid weer met een pub quiz die dit keer niet on-line hoeft! Op 1 december v.a. 20:30 uur bieden wij een podium voor een pubquiz die in het teken staat van muziek. Blues, funk, soul, house, jazz, pop, hip-hop, house, techno, rock, drum n bass, disco, 50’s tot nu en misschien ook ervoor, het kan allemaal langskomen.

Het wordt een dynamische quiz met o.a. live-muziek, DJ’s, opdrachten, dansen, feesten en borrelen. Hoe dat er precies gaat uit zien? Meld je aan en kom erachter. 

Aanmelden kan via [email protected]. Meld daarin je groepsnaam, of je van tevoren wilt komen eten en het aantal personen waarmee je komt (min.3, max. 6).

Degenen die van tevoren willen komen eten krijgen voorrang bij de quiz. Wij verzorgen een goede daghap voor 15 euro, maar als je reserveert tot uiterlijk 19:00 uur, mag je bestellen van de hele kaart. 

Kosten voor deelname van de pubquiz bedragen 3 euro p.p.

Smoke’s Music Pub Quiz

Attention music and party lovers. After a 3.5 year absence, Smoke is back with a pub quiz! On December 1st from 8:30 PM we offer you a pub quiz that focuses on music. Blues, funk, soul, house, jazz, pop, hip-hop, house, techno, rock, drum n bass, disco, 50’s to now and maybe even before, it’s all possible.

It will be a dynamic quiz with live music, DJs, assignments, dancing, party and drinks. How does that look? Sign up and find out.

You can register via [email protected]. Add your group name, whether you want to come for dinner before the quiz and the number of people you are coming with (min. 3, max. 6). Those who want to come and have dinner will be given priority for the quiz. We’ll provide a good meal for 15 Euro, but if you make reservations before 19:00 you can order from the entire menu.

The cost of participating is 3 euro per person. The event will be hosted by Edo de Vlieger, Sander Sittn’ and Bojan. 

Sidenote, the quiz will be hosted in English if we have one or more teams that have most members not speaking Dutch.

- Gerookte kalkoenbouten, 24 uur lang gepekeld, gekruid en 4 uur lang gerookt. Waarom de bouten? Omdat we bij Smoke niet houden van de filet en daarom krijgen jullie alleen het beste stuk.

- Aardappelpuree met truffel en mosterd
- Boontjes uit de oven met o.a. spek

3. Fermented adjuma, yellow scotch bonnet, honey melon, pineapple & mango. Finished with Thai basil, lime juice, golden mountain sauce, fish sauce and sugar.

4. Fermented chocolate Trinidad scorpion, ghost pepper, Carolina reaper, watermelon & plums. Finished with apple vinegar, cinnamon, sugar and salt.

We’re bringing it back because of popular demand for one day. We believe it to be the best pastrami sandwich in the Netherlands. Brined for over a week, smoked for hours and served on toasted bread with a special mustard, homemade pickles and sweet pearl onion chutney. Pastrami smash burger optional.
