The Art Of Nata
Hi there! Here you’ll find my artwork that is inspired by architecture, plants and nature. I work
Day 93/100
“The Morning Routines of Highly Successful Women”.
This was my first assignment in the Editorial illustration class.
The article covered morning routines of 3 super successful women , one of which was Marie Kondo , and the assignment was to illustrate it highlighting morning, routines, successful and women. I don’t give myself high scores as this was very hard and I went through 3 final illustrations until I stopped on the fourth, the current one. And I will give myself a break and maybe try it again in several months just to see the difference 😃
Off to the next assignment!
Day 79/100
Loose watercolor people study 😍
Anything loose and anything watercolor - you got me listening
One week to the Mother’s Day! Have you forgotten to send a card to your mama? I got you covered here! You can order a card in my shop and I will sign it and post it to a requested address. (Shop link in my profile)
Easy peasy 🧡🧡
Day 74/100
Sitting on the ground in this beautiful park close by - I can’t get enough of green and sun (just the past few days). I realized I haven’t done live sketching in yeaaarssss - so this was it. Stroller, baby toys and pencils (also, new medium to me). What y’all think?
challenge is still on and I combined it with … an Editorial Illustration course by . Fantastic opportunity to work on my portfolio and figure out where the heck my art can go. I signed up for several courses and I am very excited to work on the assignments.
This was a mini assignment that doesn’t make sense yet - to draw some objects and concepts. Really random but with the next assignment there’ll be an explanation what it is for. It’s 9 pm and I have another hour to work! I better get going.
I signed up for the Editorial illustration course and the first “warm up” exercise was to explore the concept of “morning”.
And this is pretty much the first scene that i came to my head! I got it in two versions. Both are out of my comfort zone - these are not flowers animals nor landscapes. These are scenes from life. So I’m extremely excited to start this new adventure in my art career and let’s see where it leads me to!
And also, I count it as day 68 / 100 ;) as I keep on working every night !
In my stories I’m asking you to vote for which one you like more - or maybe you find them not good- I want to hear it all . Thank you :)
Day 62/100 (yesterday)
From the
Leiden sketch from yesterday
Day 59/100
Leiden. Going local here 😎
Can you read the name of the town (khm, village) I live in? It’s Oegstgeest 😃
Gotta be careful to spell it right!! There’s 4 consecutive consonants , good luck pronouncing it ;)
I added it with ink and a dip pen 🖋️ as I’m working on adding lettering to my work. Baby steps!
But I love working with a dip pen.
It’s as unpredictable as watercolor (maybe less so but still fun)
57/100 super quick and loose sketch before I head to bed. The area I live in. Trying not to miss a day in this 100 day challenge!
This is not my typical work but I’m exploring and playing. I mean look at these details! And colours! Gasp.
Maybe something good will come out of it, you never know! But yesterday I played with INK for the FIRST time ever thanks to and her art camp! I finished past midnight , was super tired my eyes were shutting but I had a lot of fun testing and discovering new art supplies.
This was also part of my , day 54!
So , quite proud of myself. Considering that the baby woke up 4 times at night and my preschooler needed me 2 times at night. So you can calculate how many hours I slept until everyone woke up at 7:30 😂
Day 54/100 and it was all about dooooodling!
Floral madness.
Also my desk madness.
Day 51/100 of after both girls are asleep , I got to sit and do some sketching after 9pm. Underslept, I am not able to be very productive but still very pleased that I got to do something!
Day 50 🎉of
Half way through and I gotta admit - this challenge encouraged me to actually make stuff!
I’m very excited that I’m on the journey of exploring what I want to invest my energy and time into as I don’t have plenty of either of them. And today I’m posting a page from my sketchbook where I’m exploring and studying a child figure (of course based on my daughter having fun with a swing)
Work in progress and I’m happy to share it with y’all
Anemones
Spring field flowers at Easter
my second submission for the !
Here is what happened to those sunflowers I made.
I was playing around to make a pattern. In the end I just sorted them on one surface. Maybe I’ll come up with a pattern later on but for now I’m okay with this result.
Day 41/100 petals
Playing is working.
Day 40 / 100
Continue exploring sunflower.
Day 39 of ..
And working on .
The prompt is - local flowers.
My local flower would be a tulip , based on where I live. But I went for the flower where I come from - sunflower.
Here’s the digitized and shuffled around safari sketch!
Second picture - me making a pattern out of it (clearly I’m a beginner 🙈- I know there are pattern pros in my audience, so no judging please 🤪)
Third picture - the original drawing in its beauty.
Which one do you like???
Yesterday’s 24/100 that I didn’t have any energy to share. Not the best work but an attempt in making a floral composition inspired by lesson on YouTube.
I’m not sure I’m fond of this Hahnemuhle paper (Cezanne) , I think I’m forever kinda gal.
Inspired by my daughter
18/100
Leiden houses ✨
13/100
A birthday card.
The disadvantage of taking part in a challenge like this one , , is that by the time I sit down to draw something, I’m exhausted. And by the time I am actually done , it’s night and I have no chance of starting again if I don’t like it - I have to post. Post anything. That’s the hardest part. But I’m very proud that I’m two weeks in and maybe my feed doesn’t look too polished - I feel the progress.
11/100 and I’m still here!
only has time after kids are asleep , which is usually after 8pm.
Most of the evenings I don’t understand how I manage to draw anything but surprisingly I was raised quite disciplined 😃
That’s what it means growing up with a professional sportswoman mother!
Mama can be proud of me.
10/100
Something completely different but has the right to exist 😃colored pencil hare - who would have thought.
9/100
A very quick sketch today as I’m super tired.
I am still thinking how should I approach - whether I should have every week dedicated to a subject or go as I flow (as I do now). But then there’s really no structure 🤔by the time I figure out- the 100 days will be over !
Any ideas what I should paint?!
