❤️‍🔥𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗥𝗮𝗺ó𝗻 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲!!!
was born in Havana but has lived in the Netherlands for twenty years. In his career, he has shared the stage with artists such as Roy Hargrove, Marcus Miller, and Chucho Valdés. In September 2018, Ramón Valle won the Cubadisco Award, the most prestigious music award in Cuba, for his album “The Art Of Two” in the category “Best Instrumental Album 2018.” In May 2019, he received the honorary award for his outstanding work as an artist, composer, and educator.

Ramón Valle presents a solo concert in which he brings together his expertise in jazz, classical music, and his Cuban roots. He is known as ’the other face of Cuban jazz’ and has long held the reputation of a leading Cuban jazz pianist. Ramón stands out for his expressive and virtuosic style, as well as his talent for creating original, memorable melodies.

🔥𝗚𝗿𝘂𝗽𝗼 𝗣𝘂𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗼 - Is a brand/new project that bridges different generations within the Dutch jazz scene, uniting both established artists and emerging talents. This fusion brings a fresh perspective and a musical style that blends contemporary melodic jazz with elements of Latin American folklore. The musicians deliver energetic and daring performances, combining rhythmic intensity with rich textures, where space plays a central role in shaping their artistic expression.

The pianist and musical leader, Francisco Rodriguez, founded Grupo Puerto after a collaboration with bassist Jeroen Vierdag. Unfortunately, Jeroen is unavailable on November 16th and will be replaced by Patricia Mancheño.

Global Music Nights presents a series of double concerts, combining upcoming artists and well-known names from the Dutch world music scene. 🌎🎶

1st concert:
Escarteen Sisters present their new album: Caure Sostingut (Sustained Fall)

Laia and Flavia Escartin describe themselves as a string quartet in duo form: two vocals, cello, and viola. With this minimalist acoustic setup, they achieve a rich musical sound. Influences from folk, jazz, and pop merge seamlessly in the hands of these two Catalan/Flemish sisters, who dream and converse in five different languages.

Their music evokes pleasant comparisons to the Tin Hat Trio and The Unthanks, blending the expressiveness of various folk traditions with the agility and improvisation of jazz.

They are joined by percussionist Branko Valchev, adding rhythmic depth to their sound.

💫𝗘𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 - a vibrant musical collaboration set to be concert at this year’s Global Music Nights. This project unites the talents of three extraordinary female artists from South Korea and Turkey.

Through a fusion of Korean, Turkish, Western Classical, and jazz music, the ensemble creates a captivating blend of diverse musical traditions. By drawing inspiration from the rich musical heritage of the Silk Road, the Dareyn Ensemble offers a contemporary interpretation that reflects the cultural exchange and artistic innovation that characterized this historic route.

🎶📢The fourth name of our open-call selection:
Bereris & Zegrí duo – Presenting music of Sigá y Silente, meaning "in a gentle and silent way," the upcoming album by Andalusian percussionist Lucas Zegrí and Greek pianist Yiorgos Bereris.

The duo, who met in 2021, shared a common need to communicate despite linguistic barriers, discovering music as their universal language. Their orchestration blends a variety of percussion instruments from Latin American, Balkan, and Middle Eastern traditions, such as batá, pandeiro, cajón, and bendir while complemented by a pianistic style that merges jazz with East-Mediterranean influences.

This autumn, they will release their debut album, Sigá y Silente, featuring original compositions inspired by flamenco, Afro-Cuban rhythms, jazz, and Greek traditional music. A standout collaboration on the album is with the talented Andalusian flamenco singer, Blanca La Almendrita.

La Reunión – A salsa collective based in Rotterdam, founded and directed by the talented viola player Daniela Rivera. The group focuses on exploring modern salsa, Latin jazz, and timba within a traditional charanga setting. Their aim is to innovate while preserving the charanga tradition, blending it with contemporary genres beyond the typical charanga repertoire.💃🕺

Araíz – a name that signifies roots, heritage, and the blending of diverse musical traditions. Each member of this flamenco band brings a piece of their homeland, enriched with Indian and Greek influences, resulting in a melting pot of cultures and sounds. Araíz immerses its audience in a mystical atmosphere, evoking intense emotions and creating magical moments.

The project is a vision of flamenco artists Claudia Karapanou (dance), Lucas Arango (guitar), and Tarang Poddar (tabla, voice), who strive to reconnect flamenco with the music of India, the origin of the Gitano migration 1,000 years ago. The trio invites special guests to their musical projects to complete the collective ‘Araíz.’

Ishtar Bakhtali solo performance - This vocalist/composer implements Carnatic (South Indian classical), jazz, electronics, and Latin influences in her narrative compositions. With her voice, small percussion, analog tape loops and loop station she weaves musical influences together into tiny worlds for the listener to travel in.

Ripa Na Tulipa - Put on your dancing shoes for this one, because this Brazilian samba ensemble will bring you a performance of the traditional “roda de samba”. In the repertoire, the public can expect a showcase of some of the most notorious Samba composers and authors, as well as original arrangements.

Duo Cobogó - This talented duo by Tarang Poddar and Juliano Abramovay combines the majestic sounds of oud, tabla, fretless and acoustic guitar to create a unique whole. Duo Cobogó presents a musical story that makes connections between Northern Indian Classical and Eastern Mediterranean music.

Chieko Donker Duyvis - music – This young cellist, singer and composer with Brazilian/Japanese roots, creates a unique sound, inspired by classical music, free improvisation and Latin American music. During Global Music Nights, Chieko will perform her compositions in duo with Brazilian guitarist Theo de Blasis.
