October started unexpectedly slow, with a project cancellation leaving me with more time than planned. But as always, it was only temporary—soon, the month filled up with unexpected meetings, inspiring events, and exciting new opportunities!

I had the pleasure of collaborating with four incredible women, each adding something special to my journey. I kicked off mentoring sessions with , while Kasia from .studio.graficzne began shaping my brand identity. was a wonderful support on my personal journey, and beautifully captured one of my completed interiors.

October took me from Amsterdam to Eindhoven for long-postponed meetings, events, and consultations. A highlight was visiting a vintage furniture show, where I found a gorgeous vintage office chair and delicate pale pink martini glasses.

We also found time to wrap up a few small restoration projects in our home, bringing new life to our vintage dining table, wardrobe, and lamp—it’s amazing what a thoughtful update can do to make spaces glow. ✨

And speaking of home… two of my clients, whom I had the pleasure of supporting on their home-hunting journeys, found their dream homes and received the keys this month! 🥂 Seeing dreams turn into reality is always so rewarding.

October’s warm days made it even more special, with precious moments spent outdoors by the seaside and in the forest. I’m grateful for this beautiful month and ready for what comes next!

How did October treat you?

Hi, I’m Magda Stanescu, the designer behind all the projects you see here. As our community grows, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

I studied architecture in Poland and moved to the Netherlands 17 years ago. Though small, the Netherlands is known for its daring and innovative architecture, and I was eager to learn from the best.

My career began at top Dutch architectural firms like Mecanoo Architecten, Powerhouse Company, and OMA (Rem Koolhaas), where I worked with clients such as Prada, Galeries Lafayette, and the Municipality of Rotterdam. It was a dream come true, and these experiences sharpened my ability to meet clients’ needs and deliver outstanding designs.

Today, I run my own design studio, Unicreations, where I focus on breathing new life into century-old buildings. I blend contemporary design with a deep respect for history, creating spaces that connect tradition and modernity.

Challenging renovations, historical buildings, and unique properties are my passion. I love uncovering forgotten layers and giving them new meaning. Whether restoring a 1930s gem or transforming a farmhouse, I integrate new functions, cutting-edge technology, and handpicked materials to achieve a harmonious balance.

At Unicreations, I also create interiors that reflect your personal style, blending classical architecture with contemporary design. My versatile experience enables me to manage projects from house-hunting and design to overseeing renovations and managing contractors—offering a complete design experience.

When you first visit this apartment, you might walk right past the bathroom without realizing it’s there.

Hidden behind a cloudy, floor-to-ceiling mirrored panel, this room was completely reimagined and designed from scratch. Here, three core materials intersect through volumes and planes: timeless walnut, a stony shower block, and a striking blue floor.

But the space is more than just materials and a clear concept.

What I love most is the spaciousness, the natural light, high ceilings and honest white walls. Morning rituals here feel both grand and calming—that’s the intention I had in mind from the start.

‘It looks like your own personal constellation!’ That’s how a friend described her impression of A&I’s bathroom.

This thoughtful composition of mirrors and light, gently emerging from a walnut-clad niche, brings a sense of harmony and pleasure to daily routines. But there’s more to it—would you guess there’s a very practical reason for arranging the elements this way?

The mirrors are positioned to align with the heights of the family members, with various sizes offering just the right amount of space for their everyday rituals. An extra touch of light completes the niche, illuminating every detail and bringing the rich grain of the wood to life.

Take a sneak peek at A&I’s kitchen!

This apartment was originally designed as a series of enfilade rooms, and we decided to keep the original concept in most of the spaces. I love how the rooms are seamlessly connected.

The kitchen area is modern and completely remodeled, while the living room, which you can see from the kitchen, maintains a more vintage charm. We managed to restore the century-old doors to their original glory—a project on its own.

This picture was taken on a short but sunny December day. I am curious to see how the summer light hits the walls in the morning, dancing and creating abstract patterns.

Green is A&I's second favorite color. Originally, A. wanted jungle-patterned wallpaper, but I. was against it. They settled on my proposal—solid, calming green tones, paired with matching linen curtains in deep bottle green, which complement the natural oak parquet flooring.

Not only is the floor vintage. Most of the furniture in this apartment is vintage or custom-made. The playful side table by is one of the few pieces I hope will stay with them for years and becomes a vintage piece soon.

I have a profound sentiment towards this project. Five years ago, when I was not even thinking about starting my own design studio, A&I came along.

Their dream was to live in a century-old apartment with squeaky oak floors and big windows. From the beginning, they knew what they wanted and weren't afraid of the complex renovation ahead or our remote collaboration. Even when the pandemic started and we faced many challenges, they stayed enthusiastic. It was a long process, but it was totally worth it!

In a few weeks, I'll sit in this vintage chair and look out through the window, reflecting on this journey as it was a pivoting point for my career. A&I invited me to stay over, and I couldn't resist the opportunity to experience the interiors I designed for them. I'm curious to see how they've adapted the space to their needs over the years and how the finishes are aging.
