TARAB Choir
TARAB is a choir that strives to revive and disseminate Muwashahat and Qudud of all forms.
TARAB Choir performs this heritage worldwide in the most integral and sincere form, preserving its purity and spirituality to the highest level. The choir was formed in the Netherlands in 2022 by the Chief Conductor Majed Sarai Edin in close cooperation with De Stadscoalitie, Verhalenhuis Belvédère & Het Nederlands Blazers Ensemble. Its first official performance will take place on the 21st of Sep

Despite the horrors that the world has witnessed this year, we were the lucky ones to have found each other here. Besides the music, this opportunity let us make our own peaceful, cozy, and beautiful sanctuary. We were a new kind of family, bound by shared musical interests and affection for one another rather than by familial ties.
Our family hopes that the New Year brings you all beauty, joy and peace after this challenging year.

In 2015, Majed Sarai Edin came to the Netherlands and bid goodbye to his dear orchestra, Tarab. In the search for the long-lost project, he decided it was time for the birth of a new child, which would not only be a glimpse back to the dream he once lived but also a project that brought people together from all around the Netherlands: the Tarab choir.

We are busy rehearsing for the concerts on the 31st of December and the 1st of January. Together with the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble - NBE we will perform during the Nieuwjaarsconcert!
But first, a special event tonight. At Verhalenhuis Belvédère, we will perform at a private concert.
Additionally, our film will premiere here! In it, we show the origins of our choir! We will share an abridged version on our social media channels later this week.
As icing on the cake, today is also our conductor Majed Sarai Edin’s birthday!
